I'm not even sure if they really ever stopped being friends...there was just that initial tension after Mike left DT. I COULD be wrong, but I don't get the feeling the friendship stopped.

Got to see them (I believe) for the second show this tour and it was such a treat! Having the boys back on stage together just playing music and vibing! The wives are incredible players as well!
I'm the same age as Mike. I've been an amateur drummer all of my life, while Mike has been a professional icon on the drums. Watching this video just really makes me realize how much time has gone by in our respective lives. Also, the RUSH Signals tour was my very first concert ever, almost 40 years ago!
I got tickets to see them on October 17th. I'm super excited to see Mike and John together again on stage. I know they're gonna bring their A-game and deliver an excellent show. 🤘
Imagine if they had done a 30th anniversary special for Images and Words like they did with the 15 year anniversary of WDADU...for the latter they featured Charlie Dominici and Derek Sherinian as special guests on stage...if they'd had both Portnoy and Mangini on stage at the same time. Not sure the world is ready for that much awesomeness yet (lol) but it's fun to think about.
Dave LaRue asked me for a cigarette outside the House of Blues in New Orleans, ,3-21-23! Of course I obliged lol... That was when I saw them with The Winery Dogs. Got Mike Portnoy and Richie Kotzens autograph then. But also met Mike and John in New Orleans 10-26-22 on this tour, just so happens at the same venue as The Winery Dogs!

MP loves video documenting everything. He's been doing it since the late 80s (or maybe even earlier). A pioneer vlogger. His old videos are gold.
