I love tribit
Tribit for price is the best
For the cost, you can purchase near two Stormbox Blast to pair, or the price of one JBL. In which case the Tribit wins.

Very true you can buy 2 tribit for the price of one jbl encore, the bass is exponentially greater on the encore than the tribit so you would for sure need two tribit to really compete and probably beat the encore, and as far as the pronunciation of tribit, I've heard it both ways I hate saying it and it sounds like ribit like a frog noise ha ha that's why I say it the way I do, i think it sounds better
@@Jagistreviews Haha fair enough. I would agree with your points made about the sibilance at high volume with the Tribit. But they do provide a fairly thorough, 10-band equalizer in their app. to counteract it
@Ben MacDhui very true, I do have the tribit set up custom eq but apparently I need to tone the highs down a bit more
Where I live you can get a encore essential for the same price as the tribit so I ended up getting 2 encore essentials would smash 2 tribits.

Great review! Still hoping to see the Stormbox Blast compared with Altec Lansing's Mix 2.0. There are hardly any published specs on the Mix 2.0, so I'm curious which is louder and which sounds better.
Thank you, and yes I for sure can do a vs battle between the 2 but I can tell you the tribit is better the mix 2.0 is more in the territory of the extreme 3 and that size of speakers, I can for sure do it though
Decent side by side. What microphone did you use to record these? Please remember though: versus is pronounced as two syllables. Ver-sus. “Verse” has a totally different meaning.
I think tribit is capable of reaching lower frequencies like 40hz if they turn down the upper bass slightly and increase the low frequencies, that's if they come out with a second update. I hope so because I don't think tribit is done with this speaker let's keep our fingers cross though 🤞
I agree with you to a degree so I do have my tribit updated and I'm using custom eq with the 50 hertz slider all the way up and the next slider over half way up and I really can't get much bass below 40 to 45 hertz off of it not compared to like the jbl bb3 and jbl encore at least, hopefully they come out with another update that gives us a 30 or 40 hertz slider sp we can really get that deep bass from the tribit
Yep I am still keeping my eyes on tribit for now and see what speakers they release next. I think stormbox blast 2 will give JBL a hard time if they keep the price under 300 dollars. 😁👍

I think the tribit just isn't tuned to play really deep bass and partybox isn't tuned to sound punchy like tribit
@Sonny95 agreed, honestly the tribit does sound really good, I like deep bass best so the encore sounds better by a good amount, however the tribit has a way better battery and is Waterproof, the encore isn't Waterproof and the battery sucks
Am I wrong, but Tribit basses seems deeper
Both bass are around the same deepness the encore plays the bass louder but the tribit might reach just a touch deeper

Truth
The JBL Encore sounds hash , compared to the tribite , the tribite goes deeper and sounds more balanced , finally gotten a JBL competitor that has better value for money , bro tri testing JBL PB 1000 vrs Samsung Mx st90b , both speakers are good but the Jbl party box is monster ,the machines shakes walls , rattles doors or sealings lol , the base at 50% volume is insane
Both sound great to me, tribits cheaper and Waterproof and damn near sounds as good to me as the encore
Does anything hit as hard as that JBL in that size that isn't as expensive? I want to cheap out, but it just sounds so good for its size. The Tribit sounds great but definitely doesn't have the JBLs number on the low end.
@christ.4977 you could get the wking x20, it's a great contender for usually around the 220$ on Amazon
@christ.4977 also the gemini GRV-650L does pretty damn good

Good question, it's because I did the custom eq through tribit app and I've been able to tune it better in my opinion than the xbass mode that comes with the tribit

Agreed!!! The encore is honestly my favorite speaker out of all the speakers I have, it delivers the lowest bass and the most crisp highs, the mids aren't the best though

@@Jagistreviews I ended up getting the Essential to try it out and see if the sound is actually worth the really low battery life. Just out of curiosity how long do you get on yours on a single charge? Even though yours has the slightly larger battery lol.

The Encore is a tad louder and better than the Encore Essential... 2 different speakers .. some in the comments may not know this...

@smokemist1 I've got the ue hyperboom and I love it, it doesn't go as low in the bass but the bass is does produce is quite thunderous, it will shake stuff off of my shelfs ha ha
JBL batteries degrade really quick. That's a deal breaker. After less than 2 years, it losses 50% battery life.
Very true and same with harmon kardon speakers, it sucks especially for how much they cost
It's easy to replace or even upgrade though.
Every battery degrades with time, specially with bad charging habits (using generic chargers), no one brand escapes from that fact

Have 2 encores with the kic, but im gonna sell them because the battery life is horrible, im gonna go for 2 stormbox blasts, sounds like they have great batteries. For powered bass I like to listen to my PB 710 paired with the PB 310
That's a good plan, the tribit stormbox blast and jbl bb3 have much better batteries than the encore

Thats true man, Encore's usage for outside is very limited unless you have a battery pack/generator but why deal with all those things if something like the stormbox blasts exist 😁

Jbl encore more bass, both have solid clarity maybe a touch more on the stormbox blast
Looks like you didn't turn on the deep bass mode on the Encore. Cause it definitely has more deep bass than that.
Ya I always use bass boost one mode when I battle the encore againts other speakers, but I'll re-watch this and double check

A question out of curiosity. Can the update change the sound? Because my tribit stormbox blast feels sharp. The first time I felt it thicker and heavier. I had to equalize by raising the treble to 4To be able to feel the treble well. Now I feel it more acute. And turn all the treble down to 2.
The treble on mine is perfect on xbass mode. Should I expect lights to match up perfectly on 2 blasts?
@@CaseyRyan348the treble in xbass is very good but I would like to be able to lower the treble a bit. Because it is really very tiring and stressful to have very strong treble
@@aleksmiscua.9568 Have you heard the JBL boom box? The treble is overwhelming. All the new generation know are that way. Tribit is dull compared to those.

In xbass mode tribit can push more lows
I custom eq my tribit through the app and am able to get more lows out of it, it does way good just not as good as the jbl encore and jbl boombox

True it's for sure twice as expensive as the tribit, you would for sure need both to win the encore and even then the bass might be better on the encore

I mean 7500mAh battery are still small for such bass heavy speaker IMO.
My friend's Encore Essential only last 3 hours @50/60% volume.

This is the regular encore the better one, definitely has that better battery life
@@Jagistreviews I heard it sounds better too, I listened to a comparison video of the Encore to Encore Essential and it definitely sounded better. The Tribit is a solid deal but for me personally I think it’s looks weird, I don’t like these boombox type of speakers, they look dumb to me, haha. I like the design of the encore more. I might pimp my encore and add in two more 3.5 inch mids to it, there’s enough room in the bottom area. But do you know if the amp in the encore runs only mono or does it run stereo to the tweeters? Thanks

@@adashtban1521hi, I ended up never doing it. Just seemed like it would be more hassle than it would be worth. I really wanted to put a bigger woofer in there, a 6.5 inch woofer from for example the partybox 310 would fit in there perfectly, but the problem is you would have to remove the light effects and honestly I’m not sure if it will sound much better with a bigger woofer in a smaller box, so I ended up just accepting that it most likely wasn’t worth the modification. I also considered putting those mids in there and it definitely could be done but decided against it because the mids are mostly good enough for the speaker. I don’t feel they really need any improvement and it was to uncertain on if they would even make it sound any better.

bro whats the best battery time u could get in enchore?
At 65% volume with lights off and bass boost on, 4 to 5 hours, tribit you get like 6 or 7 hours I believe

Encore is definitely godlike but still I went for 2 blasts. Endurance over bass for me. I had an extreme 3 and bb2 before but the endurance is just meeeh. I'm getting old that's why I chose endurance.. It's about priorities. Both are good though
Smart choice, I do love the encore but the battery is crap and it's not Waterproof, tribits are pretty dang awesome at what they do and they sound great to!!!

A good deal for me. I'm just done with jbl endurance. Anyway, my 1st blast came with 2.2 firmware and the 2nd one with 3.1. The 1st one with old firmware is warmer and has deeper bass but the 2nd one is brighter and adequate bass. I don't wanna update the 1st one since I love its sound signature. It's like having 2 kinds of speaker. Sucks when using tws since they have different output due to firmware not being synch but whatever. It iz what it iz. I'm just a normal person but I am kind of curious about soundcore rave neo 2. Idk why speakers are addictive. I have 5 tribits and 2 ex-jbls. Time for soundcore I guess. Cheers, mate.
@jokjoan ya jbl has one of the better sounds for speakers but their battery's aren't great and their prices are ridiculous, the tribits are still one of the best bang for your buck speakers out there so you can't go wrong, I do like the new skullcandy Barrel XT for 169$ it's a killer speaker might even prefer it just a bit over the tribit, just because it can hit that lower bass that the tribit and others just can't hit
