Since you have the means, why not test it, instead of 'thinking critically'. To me, the 'fingers' are just for extra agitation, for example with bird poop, where each finger acts like a new edge. And dirt just gets absorbed into the sponge through the porous structure of the foam.
Typical rinseless wash as one would assume from the actual title, only pretreating with ONR, yes the BRS does scratch. Rinseless wash method implementing an initial presoak using cleaner of choice, rinnsing, and then using the BRS for rinseless wash. No the BRS does not scratch. Technically this method is still a "rinseless wash.
