I use it to wash my oily hair and skin. It works, but I fell for the scare tactics and bought expensive washing products. My bad. How do you back a car out the driveway, it’s impossible to tell if other cars are coming. Move to Florida, lots of room.

Thank you Darren. Very good advice about one section at a time. A tip: It sounds crazy, but for e.g. MB Tex or old VW Bug seats; a product called ‘Cif’ is good for dealing with deep grime. Then clean again, with a less abrasive product. Then… maybe use a silicone based spray, to restore the shine to the surfaces. Best regards from Australia 🇦🇺 😊 👍

Question: Darren, I know this video is 4 years old but what are your thoughts of Using Dawn dishwasher soap to wash the Tesla cybertruck which is stainless steel? There is a lot of confusion on how to wash this vehicle made of stainless steel

Its funny how some YTer's are trashing basic soap that is safe on ur body and to be around and others treat it like its literally liquid hot Uranium that will destroy your car, glass, rubber for all eternity. And many say it will kill modern waxes and sealants, ceramic this, graphene that. I wish dawn wax could strip old (current tech) wax, it would make things so much easier, but it doesn't. Dawn just isnt a good soap because it just have that smooth, lubricating action that a real, even basic 10 dollar car wash soap has.

Darren, will it damage single stage paint? I don’t know. Of course it won’t damage clear coat. BUT, you have to use an IPA after using Dawn. Thoughts?

I watched another video where they used a nylon bristle brush and a foamy cleaner. They said the foamy cleaner won't run down through the holes and you use the bristle brush tilted at an angle as you scrub lightly from 4 different directions. It seemed to work pretty well in the video and was a lot faster than when I was using a toothpick earlier today on each individual hole with marginal success.

Dude you need to be ashamed of yourself for being so unethical. Olive oil works, you just have to it the right way!!! You're just trying to sale highly toxic chemicals instead of the all natural and poison free olive oil!! And how ridiculous and dishonest can you get to suggest using olive and motor oil is the same thing!!! They are NOT!!! What an immoral greedy bleeping bleep!

I'm not understanding how you say that over time it will destroy my clear coat, but it won't destroy my paint. If it's destroying my clear coat... It's destroying my paint, no?

It won't damage your car paint but it will strip any protection product you have on it! The main reason people are against it is the amount of salt (sodium chloride) that's in it.

I like using Dawn dish soap when I'm sanding off the Clear Coat prepping a car for paint... And would Love to get my sanding paper and some Dawn on a Mercedes :) Works Great!

For 10 minutes. Then spray it off with Warm water.

Everyone try it out. On your Car And see.

Idc what anyone says u get a bucket U fill it up with water u put maybe a spoon full of dish soap and wash your car it will be fine… how u think normal ppl washed there cars back in the day with a hose a bucket a sponge and a towel to dry it up even more old school ppl used newspapers for the windows and the car always came out fine. I swear ppl just say no not to use it so u can buy other brand soaps or just car shampoo soaps w.e but back in the day when those things weren’t a thing ppl used some dishwashing soap and water not a lot of it ur not dumping half the bottle not even an quater of it just like a spoon full or two and thats it it will do the job

I have been using DAWN for 40+ years. Never has i seen any damages to my cars surface. At the end I do spray a bead maker paint protector by P&S and that is it. Good to go smooth and shinny.

Not the paint you should worry bout, it is the plastics and rubbers on the car..will dry it out.

Great video for the 90% of us that just want to keep their cars looking reasonably good...not the 10% that fuss over perfect/car show paint and shines.

Common statement from high school girls: "Been there done that." Same = clay bar. Hand steamer, 20$ 30$, no closer than 3 inches from the paint and steam and wipe out. Works great on glass.

No Mr Gay Lord, this product is to be used only AFTER washing the car. Why do you add additional untrue info? Maybe you're Jewish! Yes, after washing the car use this product as it will make the surface cleaner as if it was already polished. That's what they mean by cleaner wax.

Doesn’t destroy the paint but if I want it to shine then it’s the worst choice. Used dish detergent for years until I started using wash wax made for clear coat. It’s good for filthy cars tires and wheels because of grease oil cutting power

Dawn will damage your vehicle paint and clear coat. Buy some Decontamination Fine Clay Bar mitts if worried so much as how bad your car looks. Using Dawn will eat away at your clear coat. It is not marketed, no established Professional Auto Detailer uses it, not much on RUclips saying Everyone should use Dawn as the auto wash soap. Auto paints all have Gone Green or Water Based so what do you think Dawn will do to your newer autos of the last decade.

It probably slowly cramping the paint if it's doing both at the same time as waxing so you won't be able to tell.

On of the best products ive used. Easy to apply, last a decent amount of time (around 2-3 months) and also leaves a nice shiny surface. As a note! Before you apply it, make sure to wash your car of any dust or dirt because otherwise you will damage the paint.

It took off a huge scratch…..off my green Toyota sienna hybrid. My heart was broken …..and just could not believe what the turtle wax compound did! So excited! I regret I didn’t take a before picture!
