A Belgian and a Swiss astronaut! That's really cool. Two countries that always seem to fly under the radar even though they have a pretty large population and a lot of talent.
I believe that it is necessary to raise the question of the advisability of using astronauts with limited physical abilities in work requiring increased physical abilities. Space exploration is the result of the work of millions of people and the expenditure of hundreds of millions of taxpayers, where the maximum useful result is important and necessary, and the transformation of a space project into an advertising agency to promote populist ideas is not the intended use of taxpayers' funds. The European Space Agency should take the mission entrusted to them more seriously, and not turn the matter into Disneyland. Also launch Greta Tumberg into space, so that for the billions of euros of taxes entrusted to the space agency, they told us from orbit how a Swedish girl was taken away from her childhood. If this continues, I will personally vote in the next election for a party that will limit the funding of this space agency if they are involved in politics instead of working. Let political movements pay for space flights from their own pocket, and not from the public, public funds should be spent on work and not on cheap PR.
do this or you never inside spaceship anymore, your first mission will be failed! turn off astronaut communication to human dna bank matched cat/space organism
It would also be interesting to see how many LGBTQ astronauts were selected (at least 2 in this groups should be, according to statistics) and how many come from disadvantaged social classes. The distinction men/women is not the only and not the most discriminatory one.
well not just because of LGBT they are selected, majority of astronauts should be at least test pilots or engineers, mainly LGBT are cabin crews, according to statistics, cabin crews are nowhere near being an astronauts. Of course it should be emphatized but i do not see why they should focus on LGBT only.
@@Alex_BF I was just making fun of your comment. Pardon my humour but Your comment was like seriously, lets hire only LGBT. There are many people everywhere of course.
@@algita8 Absolutely not. My comment means that we should go beyond the distinction female/male and also consider other factors like sexual orientation and social background, and make sure to be more inclusive.
well if we go that way, I think profession will be only regarding those factors. I think in this case, main reason is not female or male but competence. Of course they are looking at that but I will not hire just because he or she is LGBT, first criterior is competence, you should have flying experience and engineering experience.

@@algita8 I hope you are joking ! LGBTQ people occupy positions in every field, including piloting and engineering, research, medicine, physics.
