It was so profound when Bev was shocked by all of the things Kunal had to say because he seemed so put together. As she said, “he was so fabulous, I thought he was acting.” I feel like it’s always the people that put on the happy face and seem put together, are the ones who are struggling the most. Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always.
"Self-esteem is the most important because you're esteeming yourself" M: "do u think people think of me as an empowered person?" B: "No" Lol, I just love this level of bluntness and honesty.
I am a 51 yo gay man and I LIVE for your podcast! Ever since I found out you had a PHD, I have been obsessed with you. (not literally) Nothing sexier or more fascinating than a smart human being, in my opinion.
I love when Bev is on because she is able to give her feedback directly. I want to commend Mayim for allowing such obviously uncomfortable conversations to appear on the podcast. There is an unbelievable amount of generosity being shown to we, the viewers, and, as I always try to do, want to thank Mayim (and Jonathan) for sharing. (And I haven't even watched the show yet. I just saw the beginning where Mayim was wringing her hands in a blanket.)
I was diagnosed bi polar when I was in my 30's and placed on medications, which turned into being on 27 different medications due to other health issues on top of the bipolar. It became so bad that I ended up in the hospital because I was unable to keep anything I ate or drank down. I saw 8 different doctors until I had the last doctor say that he wanted me to try a different way. He gave me some steroid therapy for the transverse myelitis and slowly weened me of the psych meds and started me on cbd and thc . I'm now 51 and I have had great results from this treatment plan. I no longer need a walker and I have never been able to deal with the manic phases the way I can now, and I don't have nearly the anxiety and depression that I used to have to deal with. I also use meditation and music which is amazing. Love you and your mom🥰
Thank goodness for Johnathan or these Bevisodes could devolve into a Jerry Springer podcast FAST! 😳🤣🤣🤣 LOVE Bev's 'brutal' honesty and helpful insights!
As soon as your mother started talking my stomach jumped because it sounds like JUST like my mother, with a different accent. And I adore all your work and your channel, I'm probably your biggest fan!
Bev Bialik is an AMAZING interesting part of this podcast. She really put a pin right in the heart of a subject. What a brilliant woman. So eloquent, so sweet, so much love. I have always admired Mayim, now im just plain envious of her! She has such interesting such a treasure of a mom. An interesting pod . I enjoyed Bev being on . What a lovely person.
I, as a 45 year old woman, 100% agree with your Mom. Would have been great to have a young woman, a fertile woman, a woman in perimenopause, and a menopausal woman to have a well rounded discussion on women's health.
As a male, and 42, I have always loved to listen and have to agree with this comment. This is not always an opinion panel but having other viewpoints helps to have a better dialogue. What I knew about having a family at 20 is different than at 40. Doesn't mean that at 20 we are stupid. We may be more ignorant of what's out their but it helps with mindset and perspective. Also, it allows for us to gain a deeper perspect of what is out there now in 2021 as compared to how we had it 20 years ago.
Hooooray! 🕺🏽💃🏿Another true gem: another BEVISODE!!! I adore this woman!!! How I’d like to have had a mother like her! I’m to present myself as President of Beverly’s Fanclub..! Thank you Mayim and Jonathan..and of course THANK YOU BEV! 💚
It's entertaining to me to observe you and your mom's dynamic. It is helping me see the blind spots that I possibly have on my own mother. Relationships is where all the work is now!
I just want to say that each one of you bring something exceptional to the party but Mayim you seem so comfortable and in charge with your guests, with Johnathon, with Bev...you have many callings but this one suits you well and you do it justice every time!
I enjoy you post, my favourite are your ones with your mom. It reminds me of talking to my kids. I wish we did more talking...Hey Johnathan , love all our contributions. Aways be proud of your Canadian root..! From one Canadian to another, you rock. Mayim rocks too. Keep up the great work 👏👏👏
If Mayim's mum wants her to interview a young woman in her 20s about her experiences in life so far I'll be up for it :) I don't think I know anyone at my age who wouldn't be. Everyone's experiences are valid no matter what their age so I think Mayim is allowed to interview whoever she likes regardless of age or profession. It's just nice that the people who appear on breakdown are so open and willing to talk about their personal experiences as for some people that isn't possible and can be scary. These videos personally for me have been a great aid for me and have taught me a lot about mental health that isn't really talked about. Especially by doctors. So glad Mayim decided to start this series as I know it's helped a lot of people who are dealing with their own struggles in their lives.
I’ve been spending the weekend watching these pods and your mom is the most hilarious person. I’m just laughing and enjoying everything. bless her and I’m gonna continue to be enjoying this. Happy 2023. You can tell that you are loved.
Oh my goodness! When you asked your mother what did she say when people teased you about something and she said they were jealous. I’ve said this to my perfect to me babies and understand so purely the all consuming love she has for her baby, Mayim, it just got me. On so many levels and was so beautiful.
Mayim, Beverly, I have a remark, in an ABSOLUTELY NEUTRAL way. I see Bev making a remark, Either on video or in a message. Mayim then INTERPRETS in with a little sarcasm or irony and then reacts to the "perceived " sarcasm! Then Beverly, you reacted to Mayim's remark, interpreting it as sarcastic and then responding to the sarcasm! I have experienced this in my own life, with messages, with which I have taken a LOT of care , someone will read it back to me with sarcasm, and then proceed to react to the sarcasm THEY PUT INTO IT! My daughters recently told me "MOM! Choose your words carefully!" Floors me, because I chose very carefully! Could it be, Bev and Mayim, that Bev is busy with development beyond the roles of Mother and Daughter! Jonathan nailed it. And just that fact is scary (in that it calls up new emotions.)
I love this (your) podcast/RUclips channel. The relationship between all 3 people are so wonderful and interesting. Jonathan, such a gem, bringing in the love, clarity and direction while Mayim and her mother discuss (sometimes uncomfortable) things that are complicated. Thank you for making this and sharing your lives.
I will say only one thing as someone who has watched from the first episode: they are all magnificent ones, but everyone in which Bev appears is simply EXCEPTIONAL! 💎💎💎She is as our own voice there, impersonating the χορός or chorós as in the ancient Greek theater! We are all Bev! We all adore Bev! 💚 And I watched it while my surgeon removed a basal cell cancer from my lower leg (a colon survivor here). We both ended watching a part together when procedure ended and sharing with him the #bialikbreakdown link! It was so uncommon but really MAGIC!💜
Bev is right, the earth does breathe and everything is connected. I got to that insight in a different way than she did but once you know this, you can't unknow it. The problem is connecting to it during a normal day full of stuff! That is one of the things Kunal talks about. Even when we have extraordinary insight, we have to work to shed the expectations of others and their ideas of who we should be to keep connected to who we truly are - an expression of the Divine that is all things and no one thing.
Hooray, another Bevisode! Was popping into the comments to say how much I love your mom but it looks like it's more of a WE love your mom thing happening in here. I'm going to go and listen to this right now while I walk the dog. See y'all in three weeks at the next meeting of the Bev Bialik Fan Club.
Bev is really a hoot. Smart lady. A great mom. Said as an adult with a way lacking mother. My dad was a dad/mom who left me too soon when I was 14. At 18 I found my 'mom' who was the best always til her death at 103. I was so blessed to meet her and to love each other all those years. We never lived together except on visits. We were always connected and she taught me so exceptionally well.
I love Bev . I don't know her outside the podcast so my feeling of her could be very unlike Mayims . She's not my mom . My mom made me crazier than anyone on this planet . Yet she reminds me of my mom , no filter . Somehow I get her honesty and it is her honesty . Surprises me that I " get " her . Obviously she loves Mayim and Mayim loves her .
Ok I've been bingeing all the bevisodes. I can see my relationship with my mother reflected in your interactions and it made me realise a few things about my own relationship with my mother. Beautiful to see the tension and care and love all existing simultaneously. Thank you all!
About mescaline..people of my age here in Barcelona at our late teen years read a lot about mescaline and “peyote” use from UCLA PhD Carlos Castaneda’s book as ‘The teaching of Don Juan” and “A reality apart”. I stored a peyote plant at my parents house as “a garden one”, but never dared to prepare it to experience conscience modifications, as other friends of mine when we were yet at Architecture School, did. How adorable to watch Bev talk about her once-a-life-but-never-ending mescaline trip and how the world “ondulates”! 😆How I love this woman! 💛💛💛 And how I adore your banter! 💜💜💜
I'm loving these episodes with Bev ... she's very wise, openminded and funny. I agree there's a generational gap in modern culture. These episodes really help to fill it in. Thank you Mayim, Bev and Jonathan. Keep up the great work !
As someone in her 30's I prefer the experienced and academic perspective of the pill episode. Listening to one's own friends while in the applicable age group is what is too wrong. I felt that episode broke it down in a way that acknowledge the intuition or lack their of at that age for most without making a younger audience feel dumb or talked down to. Women's bodies have been legislated and experimented on for millennia and it was great to be told we are in control of our bodies and what we chose put into it or don't.
I didn’t understand Mayim’s response to Bev’s suggestion that a younger woman’s point of view would add to the podcast. I think it’s interesting and important to know what younger people are thinking and what is their experience. Someone who is 30, for example, is experienced, and at least I was this way, didn’t know that other women had something to teach me and vice versa. I thought Mayim was perhaps taking the comment personally and was not open to really considering the idea.
It's always interesting to see and hear from Bev. I'd like to weigh in as a die-hard Mayim fan and follower (in the good way): please don't have the panels and the disagreeing, etc. I think a rebuttal followup could be of interest, but this isn't an opinion show; it's an informational show. Aside from watching virtually anything Mayim posts, I watch Breakdown because I'm looking for informed opinion, and info, some of which comes from the amazing personal stories that have unfolded so far -- and with good humor. Stories that help us feel we're not alone, things aren't hopeless, and that even famous people have mental health issues. The "they said-they said" shows are geared to upsetting people, because that -- unfortunately -- is addictive and gets people to watch. It's almost always stilted and staged, and the pressure to treat all sides "fairly" often ends up spreading disinformation and/or antagonism. It certainly enhances anxiety in many people (I used to work in advertising, can you tell?). Bev can watch CNN if she wants that kind of stuff. No offense (I'm in my 60s, btw, not her age group but old enough to not be disrespecting Bev because she's older).
OMG I love you Bev, Mayim and Jonathon ! The level of conversation is delightful, enlightening and in short supply in my life currently. The podcast is always awesome but I'm always interested in familial interaction.
Bevisodes are my absolute favorite!!!!! I think watching them reminds me a lot of my own relationship with my mom so it is interesting to watch this and see that other people have similar relationships. Bev is so funny in her responses. I love that she literally texts Mayim comments throughout the entire time she is watching. So great! Love this. I too like Mondays because I know Tuesday is podcast day :). Love to all! Can't wait for another Bevisode!
I love these reviews (?) with your mother! Your interactions are real. Your mum is fabulous to listen to and your relationship seems like goals for the masses. Thank you both for sharing your knowledge and wisdom. 🙌🏼 And thank you Jonathan for being a superb mediator! 💪🏼
I love this podcast and my favorites are the recaps with Mayim's Mom, but I really enjoy them all!!! I learn so much and find reassurance and comfort from many of the great. I like the flow and banter that Mayim and Jonathan bring. I so look forward to them coming out each week!! I have even listened to some more than a few times as they really are informative, fun, and entertaining. Bless you all. 🤗❤🙏🤗❤🙏
I just love you Mayim 🌹. You're so multi talented & using your gifts... you've been blessed. I'm believe your living your very best life, using your talents. Thanks for everything 🤗🌹👍
I love, love, love that Bev shared a glimpse into her youth. Bohemian. I love it. The documentaries that Bev and her husband (let his memory be a blessing) created! WOW! Would Bev consider adopting an adult child who takes notes too?
Being someone who is around Mayim's mother's age, I found myself wondering the same questions her mother was asking. umm Generational gaps are real as the meaning of words shifts, or are replaced and are a challenge. Why do the meanings need to change? The thing is as it happens, we older peeps don't get the memo. It's a tad frustrating. Go Mom. I appreciated and related to your insights.
I'm was so happy to see that there is another Bevisode. I love these so much and I laughed so much. This episode also highlighted alot of important points and I truly love this podcast so much. This podcast has everything in one and is just amazing. Thank you so much Mayim, Jonathan and Beverly for this episode .
ABSOLUTELY LOVE BEV’S WISE INPUT! Thank you so much for all the excellent information Mayim and Jonathan!! Keep-’em coming!! These Podcasts make Tuesday’s bearable! 🙌🙌👌👌🙏🙏😎😎
I love Bev!! She is hilarious!! No filter, says what she thinks, I love it!! I would love to see the documentaries they did, I wonder if they are on RUclips?
Bev's take on the shift in language used to describe various states of power is exactly what I'm struggling with. Don't even get me started on slang. But she's correct, and I'm personally sick of people the age of Mayim and my own daughter, and the next gen down in their 20s looking at me as some stupid boomer (gods I hate that word). I'm also sick of being corrected by them when we are really saying the exact same thing, just using different descriptors. There seems to be an assumption that no one was ever enlightened before (insert group here). I'm still learning, but I also have a lot of experience and knowledge to learn from. And Bev, I saw the clouds pixelate before pixels were even a thing. Great episode!
I love this podcast! I love it! I tell my daughter who is a Phycologist everything I learn when I listen! We have been speaking with trust for several years. It's not easy always, but we have connected on so many different levels with mature sharing. I love that you and your Mom seem to have that also! You said people should get their parents to watch. I am trying to get my daughters to watch!
I really love these episodes! I am her age or older, and have PTSD. I have avoided the procedure she refers to with the buzzers, I forget the name of it. It sounds very scary. It has faded with time for me, at the present time I am doing well but feel like something could put me back there in second. I love the history of your mother and father, it's so interesting because I grew up in that era. I think I can relate so much to her because of my age. These are so informative as well, maybe I will start taking notes!
I love Bev 💓 These episodes have helped me redefine my perceptions with my mom. As a daughter I tend to feel that I am right and my mom is *eye roll* "jesus" 😂 but now I am working to be more concious of her perspective. Thank you!
I loooovvvveeee to see the respect your have towards each other. And can agree to disagree. Keep them coming. Mom is right. I always look forward to Tuesday. 🤗

When Bev speaks, I lose myself in her wisdom and humour. She's mesmerising. I'm saving this podcast.

I loved this show! She reminded me of my mom whom is no longer with us and helped me feel closer to her.
Fantastic episode. Bev is so intelligent and sure isn't afraid to speak out! My hat is off to a woman of my generation! Bev rocks!!
Bev Bialik is an AMAZING interesting part of this podcast. She really put a pin right in the heart of a subject.

“Not my business, stay in my lane!” Absolute words of wisdom!
Everyone needs some Bev in their life. She’s back and I love it!
Mayim and her Mom need a show....hilarious, a dynamic we all need in our lives💘

Thank you for beeing honest. Because of you, I feel better about my relationship with my parents.
I love these episodes with Bev.
No wonder why you're so amazing, Mayim!!! Loved your mom! 👏🏻 I love honest, intelligent women!
I like how open you are with your mom.
I love Bev’s honesty!
Keep Bev on the podcast, she's AWESOME!!
What? Well, shut my mouth! I'm so excited about this. I loved the first episode with Bev. YAY!
I love Bev!! She is hilarious!! No filter, says what she thinks, I love it!! I would love to see the documentaries they did, I wonder if they are on RUclips?
Many have said that Bev has "no filter". I don't see her that way. I see that she has a huge bullshit-ometer and she observes herself very carefully!
Bev is so legit!
Awwww, your Mum is so cool. I love her opinions and her takes on what she sees/hears. Bless her - bless you all. I love this podcast.
I adore your mom!
I love that you do these videos with your mother. Very cool.
I think it is so wonderful that you and your mom can talk about these things!
The earth is breathing 🤣🤣. Made my day. Thank you Mayim
I’ve really missed the Bevesodes. I’m glad to have ran a crossed this. She’s hilariously insightful.
Yeeesssss!!!!!! Bev is awesome!
That was fun!! I love how honest Bev is.
I love Bev 💓 These episodes have helped me redefine my perceptions with my mom. As a daughter I tend to feel that I am right and my mom is *eye roll* "jesus" 😂 but now I am working to be more concious of her perspective. Thank you!
Just love when Bev comes to visit Breakdown!
I loooovvvveeee to see the respect your have towards each other. And can agree to disagree. Keep them coming. Mom is right. I always look forward to Tuesday. 🤗
