Bev is an amazingly open-minded, level-headed and respectful person. The fact that she is able to relate with other people's stories not in a judgemental but rather conversational and compassionate way shows how much work she has done and that she is still willing to work on herself and learn new things. I am in awe! ❤
How unique & genuine is Beverly (she wanted be that way at school not being conscious of her uniqueness..btw inherited by her daughter). Mayim, I ENVY YOU! Such a mom! The way she speaks of others is never judgemental, but always wise, reasonable, centered & compassionate. I’d like to spend hours there, being a fly in your ceiling, watching the three of you discussing in such beautiful way past episodes. And the [so beautiful too] image of the three of you at the studio, sat at the same table. Big thanks Beverly, Mayim & Jonathan for this GREAT #7 (and all past six) Bevisode! 🙏🏼💜
@@1tuinman I think we can't assume the relationship between her and her Mother. My take is that Bev has a more salt of the Earth, direct take on things.. that in our cancel culture environment can be uncomfortable to "host" in a public environment.
Yesss! But was shot some time ago! They spoke about seventy-something episodes and now they’re at 94. And Mayim spoke about Beverly being the second one live at studio..when Dustin Hoffman was there too! 😉
This was my first Bevisode. I don’t watch every episode, so I appreciated Bev’s recaps. I will make time to watch some of the episodes I missed based on this discussion. Thanks!
Yay another Bevisode!👏 I just love her perspective, and you can trust her to give it to you straight, she'll be honest with you. That's not something you find in people a lot of times, and I greatly appreciate it Bev, thank you!🙏🙌 And as always, thanks to Mayim and Jonathan!🥰👏
This is my first Bevisode and I love it! Can’t wait to watch the rest of them! Love how honest she is and watching Mayim’s response to her mother is adorable 😊
I’ve been wondering where Bev was and hoping all was well with her! This is my first time watching vs. listening via the podcast. It’s funny how you get an image of someone in your brain just from the voice - and I was not even close ! 😂 I do love listening to her take on the guests. It’s interesting, I felt the same as she did about Sarah Silverman’s episode. Your podcasts are always informative and real. It’s nice to remove the ‘hype’ and see a real person. I always take something away from each podcast. I’d love to hear Bev discuss Michael A Singer sometime. Wishing you all peace.
You're awesome Dr Bialik. You're one of my favorite actresses ever. I hope you someday invite Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco or Melissa Rauch to your podcast
I like to save the Bevisodes for some reason. The break down of podcasts are awesome but I like to see the interactions between the 3 of you. It’s gold. Although Jonathan looks very uncomfortable or he has 100 thoughts in his head per minute and is trying to filter out what is acceptable to say 😆.
These podcasts give me so much food for thought. Mayim, you don't have to be anyone other than who you are to be great. I have a lot of respect for you as a performer and as a person.
This is so insightful for me. I grew up where Mayim did, in a Jewish family and we’re the same age and I’m noticing the digs she makes at her mom I do to mine unknowingly and I have to catch myself and consciously make myself stop. It’s cultural. Wow…. We love our moms but it’s a habit we’ve acquired.
Why the day I can’t watch Bialikbreakdown live is the day you broadcast a most longed for BEVISODE???? 😭😭😭 May I say again that Beverly Bialik there made the best episodes? I love her. And her wisdom! How fortunate is Mayim having you as a mom! I’m older than Mayim..but can you adopt me? Said that, and regarding S. Silverman and same Beverly: my grandma lost her first kid, a 2 years-old boy the same day she was giving birth to my mom. She could never hug nor be with him in his the last minutes of life. That fact crippled my mom’s relationship with my grandma for life. How wise was Bev’s remark! Hearing what you always though in the mouth of others is so healing…
What Mayim's mom went through was exactly what my mom went through when my dad passed away. People try to say something "constructive" like "you have to move on". As well intentioned they they were, sometimes it's just better to hear the person out and how they are feeling versus trying to make them feel better because people do process grief differently. People generally don't sit well with the discomfort of emotions even though they themselves aren't going through the grief of loss.
Omg!!! Our kids do this with our podcasts too! I’m now a little afraid to show this to them…. Because they will want to be on an episode and bring notes too!! Their directive will be well… “Mayim… let’s her mom guest host” 🤷🏻♀️😂🤷🏻♀️
Bevvv!!!! ❤️ Been missing the Bevisodes. I love Bev’s take on things and I resonate with her so often. I also love seeing Mayim and her Mom, from the moments Mayim wants to crawl under the table to when they hold each other up with such love and respect. Being real. The fact that Bev started therapy later in life, and she’s reaping the rewards makes me respect her so much. Not to leave Jonathan out, I hear you when you took issue with saying someone suffers from a mental illness. When I think of my mom being bipolar, yes 100% I think of it as an illness because it was a chronic brain chemical condition that, when left unmedicated, wreaked havoc on her ability to have a healthy perception of herself and the world and sometimes made my life a living hell. But I prefer to say she lived with it rather than suffered from it. Just like my Dad LIVED with cancer for 25 years.
I love this i have conversations simular deep n light conversations with my ma and with my partner and i find it so fascinating hearing my mums point of views and experience with things. I get along so well with her and each time it feels so nice and closer.
my first Bevisode and i find it very fascinating to watch and listen! i kinda relate today's revisiting episode topics, i had my realizations and learned something.😃 Will try to catch up with the previous episodes.☺️
I would love to see a show that's based on your podcasts. I loved you in Blossom, Beaches (My favorite all time show), Big Bang Theory and Kat. I would love to see an actual show based on this podcast. That would be awesome.
Mayim, why do you give your mom the Eye Roll so much?? I get you may have some issues with her, but as a guest on your podcast I find her rather down to earth and insightful. I just wanted to point it out hoping you might give it some thought. I adore your Breakdown ❤️🔥
I kinda get it. I love and adore my mum and we get along amazing but I also roll my eyes at least 400 times in a half hour when we are together. To be honest she probably rolls her eyes at me just as often 😬
@@esmeraldagreengate4354 I hear you. It just makes it seem that Mayim is not taking her Seriously when Bev is really trying to be present and real. I can't explain it, it just made me feel uncomfortable. Thanks for your reply!
Fun to see Bev again! I disagree with what Jonathan was saying at the end about it not being a good thing to call people with "mental challenges" ill. If someone has diabetes, you say they're ill, so why not refer to mental health issues as illness? It seems like a "you're not fat" type reaction of denying something that's true due to being uncomfortable with it. P.S. I'm both fat and mentally ill, and I'm at peace with both of those things. It just bugs me when people don't want to use the words that actually describe the reality of my situation, because it tells me that, at some level, they really do think there's something wrong with it.
I was at school thru the 70s & left 1980 here in the UK.There was 1 "remedial" classroom and the rest of us were "normal" apparently, although we had individual problems that were not picked up back then, that have left me with problems as a 58 yo!Pity the help kids have nowadays was not available back then!
I think Bev needs to help get the word out to older people and the benefit of therapy. I'd love to see my parents (75 & 80) for example to go. I've tried and tried... but I think it could be so powerful, even at 80. My brother just passed at 44 -- and I my mom does her thing, but I think if she heard of benefits of older people going... it could really help.
I love Bevisodes! In reference to Sarah Silverman, I think that she actually _was_ showing her true self. She's just about the most open person there is (she doesn't seem to have much of a filter), so I don't think that there's much mystery about her. Bev may want to subscribe to the Sarah Silverman Podcast on RUclips to see more of Sarah. If so, I hope that Bev comes away with a better impression of Sarah. (I didn't know anything about Sarah before her episode here, but I enjoyed the episode so much that I subscribed to Sarah's podcast, and I now absolutely adore her!)
TS 31:09 Yes, we live in a grief illiterate world, people don't get it and they say unknowingly stupid things. I've heard from others many strange things regarding the loss of my husband. I would love to hear Bev's thoughts on Joe Dispenza episode.
