I'm not against Strax at all, it's a family show after all, but I do agree that he is currently giving the Sontarans a bad reputation. It would be nice to see them come back every few seasons with a story of their own to show just how dangerous they really are.
Connor White agreed I would to see like a battle between the finest soldiers of the galaxy sontarans vs like the judoon or maybe the darleks that would be sick
Christopher Wilkerson My thoughts exactly. Real effects are far more exhilarating and believable. Not that CG can't be done well; it most certainly can be, but CGI is not a substitute for real props and effects. CGI is still, at the end of the day, just a form of animation. Animation can be great, but it's just not the same as real effects.
@@NPCSingularity the affects aren’t that great and CGI would definitely do a better job Everyone one always complains about CGI like it’s synonymous with bad storytelling but it’s really not

I loved this story!, the debut of the Sontarans, one of my most favorite enemies of the series, and Sarah Jane Smith, one of the best companions Doctor who ever had in my opinion, and of course written by Robert Holmes!, who produced most of the all-time best stories for Doctor Who EVER!!!!, i shall never grow tired of it, and watch it for the rest of my life, cos it's sci-fi (and british tv) at it's best!!!!

Surely Hal didn't tell anyone that The Doctor & Sarah went into a blue box after saying their goodbyes to him in which the blue box had disappeared in front of him with a strange noise.

Love Doctor who but the acting back then was horrible, but most movies made in Europe were extremely badly acted up until the last dozen years. Goes for most parts of the world who didnt understand how to act until the middle 1980s. But doesnt mean I dont love a lot of the goofiness of the acting.
What? No crying? No kissing? Or EPIC music over powering everything else? Or shakey camera angles with strobe edits, heavy colour palette, CGI Cartoon FX, or perhaps a PC Black Gay Girlpower tight skirted 15 year old bimbo in a wheelchair ready to save the day? It can only be true British Science Fiction called Doctor Who! The real show!
Doctor who, Sarah Jane, and Boba Fett vs a Sontaran. He's even wearing green.
Damn learn something new everyday
So does this mean that Boba Fett went back in time to get Linx as he had a bounty on his head? Damn
That archer sure hit The Sontaran Linx's weak spot of that small vent on the back of the neck with good accuracy.
As Donna said... "back of the heeeeeaadd"
+hagamapama it was actually "back of the neck" sorry mate
Leela did the same in The Invasion of Time iirc... with a thrown knife.
I mean he was like 4 feet away
That was Jeremy Bulloch playing Hal.
I love how you can see the top of the quarry (presumably) when the explosion goes off, 1:57. All part of the low budget charm.

Ironically, The Sarah Jane Adventures actually handled the Sontarans better then New Who.
He's not giving them a bad reputation. That's the problem. He's giving them a good one!
New Who and especially SJW Who are awful.
I bet you pay actual money for Big Finish
This Doctor Who story has some of the funniest dialogue. At one point Irongron says that the Doctor sounds like a "Norman ninny," lol.
No matter how advanced CGI gets, nothing can beat the beauty of these special effects. Love this stuff!

Go Pertwee
The Time Warrior is the story that introduced the name of The Docto‘s home planet & was the 1st story to show the diamond logo.
rip jemery bulloch aka hal the archer aka boba fett
Woah! Just realised Boba Fett (Jeremy Bulloch) took out the Sontaran!
R.I.P Jermey he will be missed
50 years now.....be at peace my son and enjoy the Doctor.
1:22 Boba Fett always had a good shot, didn't he?
I used to destroy castles, until I took an arrow to the probic vent.
1:43 😂😂 The Dr. running like he has to hit the 🚽. Hal the archer would've been a good companion for The Dr.
One of the greatest enemies, and comic relief.
The Doctor should've informed UNIT that the Sontarans' weak spot is the small vent behind their neck after defeating Lynx.
so this is the first time the doctor is mistook for a magician watch the magician's apprentice and see what i mean
He was also been called Merlin 🧙♂️ (yes that Merlin)
Arrow to the Probic Vent!
Hals' kindly voice is a far cry from "Boba Fett". "We owe you much-goodbye Doctor... You are truly a great magician Doctor!"
lol Nothing like stock footage of a demolition to substitute for an actual explosion when you dont have the budget....
Jon was around 53 when he filmed this, and his running speed and technique would put most 19 year olds to Shane
Former WWII secret agent. Kicking ungodly amounts of ass literally used to be his job description.
Gotta love that $2 f/x of the castle getting "destroyed"!
Not $2 but stock footage of demolition
We use proper currency here.
What a blast! Linx and his ship

Dr Who ia s master of "Venusian karate".
I believe the actual name is 'Aikido'.
It was initially called "Venusian karate," but it was changed to "Aikido" because they decided "karate" sounded too violent for the Doctor.
As a matter of fact, I always agree with the word Venusian aikido.
I can't believe they destroyed a castle just to film an episode.
Yeah what a great idea for the door to be right behind the pilot.
Yeah, acting is such a new thing. Shakespeare was really a man before his time.
The Sontarans in the classic series look much scarier than they do in new Who.

RIP Commander Linx.
RIP Kevin Lindsay.
Kevin Lindsay, the original Sontaran. He even came up with the pronunciation of Sontaran. He passed away about 18 months after this.
How unlike 3 to succumb to a quick throw. One Hi! and it'd all be sorted!

Quite so. I'm sure the US will find a way to do so one day - fingers crossed!
