    I wish they did more with this side of Diesel (haven’t seen “The Big Freeze”, but from what I’ve read, sounds like it’s consistent with this episode). Heck, it makes me want to come up with an RWS-style “book” of stories focusing on his return to Sodor and his gradual transition from scheming bully into someone humbler, someone wiser.
    We’d start with a story reestablishing him that leaves him gobsmacked by how chummy Sodor’s steam engines are with diesels now, then transition into “A Most Singular Engine” and “Springtime For Diesel”, and then a story in which Diesel and Duck interact for the first time since “Dirty Work” and Diesel demonstrates how much he’s grown while Duck is understandably suspicious of Diesel suddenly wanting to make things right between the two of them.

    I've said it about characters in _The Owl House_ and _Amphibia,_ and I'll say it here. I love that Diesel isn't easily forgiven. Forgiveness takes time to rebuild trust, and I wish more shows would teach kids this. I think this episode was supposed to air right after "A Most Singular Engine" instead of right before it, and it would have been a little story arc like the ones in the early model seasons. I wish it turned out that way so this episode would mean more.

      I woud agree, because the writers of the show can get what I presumed as, Muddled.
      "Springtime for Diesel" should air after "A Most Singular Engine" so that the show can show how much the characters have grown over the years.
      In my opinion what you say about The Owl House and Amphibia, I can agree and I think Diesel is related to Hunter aka "The Golden Guard and Sasha Waybright, as they are both bad influences but soon learn what the wrongs they've commited and break out of they're shells and join the good sides.

    • @michaelbyrne5606
      @michaelbyrne5606 Год назад

      Even then, the two are different enough to elicit unique takeaways:
      Herb tried and failed to create a interconnected family unit through Horsin, and BoJack’s ghosting him after his plea and firing created a suicidally isolating existence. He feels that pain is the only real tie they have left, and it’s even one he hounds BoJack for after seeing him holding the telescope and tackles him.
      Daisy is required to keep working with Diesel regardless of her desires, so she weighs her disapproval with the sincerity and petulance he’s conveyed to her and gives him a resolve to commit to.

      You do realise that both Megamind and Gru started out as villains because society rejected them and made them choose to be evil, similar to the joker. But as their respective movies go on, they both gain a new perspective in life thanks to Roxanne and the 3 girls respectively and later learn that it’s better to be good than bad, so they end up choosing to redeem themselves and save the world. Megamind made Titan because he wanted a hero to fight again after he thought he killed Metro Man and Titan only became evil because he fancied Roxanne and she didn’t fancy him back.
      You can’t just be evil forever just because society seems you as such, who you are is who you choose to be. What’s wrong with Diesel and Diesel 10 experiencing what Megamind and Gru went through?

As for DC Animated Universe, Joker is always bad because he became the Clown Prince of Crime and was never tragic due to his crimes of murder and sadistic. They are also smart when they know when it is the right time to maliciously come up with a plan. And most importantly, they are not entirely evil due to their motives. Now you might think his Diesel’s goal is too get revenge on Duck but that’s not the case because after Season 3, Duck and Diesel never interacted again and all of a sudden Diesel hates mainly Thomas and the other steam locomotives from S8-S24 or you might think Diesel’s other goal to prove that diesel locomotives are more superior to steam locomotives that’s now out of the question due to him bumping Daisy at a station causing her parts to be damaged, taking Mavis for a joyride and trying to get her into trouble in the episode Thomas and Quarry Engine and treating Paxton like shit who is also the the same class as Diesel( In a way, Diesel is a terrible brother) so really Diesel doesn’t have a goal anymore. Furthermore, l don’t think Diesel is afraid of any consequences because every time the Fat Controller sends Diesel away after that The Fat Controller brings Diesel back because “hE’s tHE oNlY eNGiNe aVaLIable” and heck the reason why Diesel is a permanent member on Sodor now is because he nearly sent Fergus to be scrapped in a Smelter’s Yard like come on. Diesel nowadays plays a trick at any engine any time he wants never doing at the right time and and every engine that has been a victim always know it’s him. In conclusion, Diesel imo is not a villain. He is just a one dimensional idiotic jerk just for the sake of being a jerk.

That would be much more perfect. 'Arry, Bert and Diesel 10 are Diesel's only friends since their personalities align with his own when it comes to disliking steam engines and being devious as well as that fact that he doesn't get along with diesels who are friendlier to steam engines like Paxton and Mavis and that includes Daisy too which Davey Moore should be aware of and contend with it instead and should know better. Though I suppose that the "slimy scheming scouser who smiled at your face while stabbing you in the back" should be expressed more in CGI often and perhaps bumping into engines need to be reduced a bit so fair point on it a bit. If you don't think so on what I said, that's fine. I only hope that you understand where I'm coming from regardless.
