Reverse Flash saw Tenet and decided to push events in such a way to close a time loop and ensure Barry lives to be his greatest self and inspire all the speedsters to follow, ending with him
Still makes me wonder what if neil just took a vacation after they got out of the hole
I'm still confused as to what Tenet is about.
@@angelothompson186 hard to describe in a few sentences, but imagine your future self wrote you a letter telling you everything that was going to come, so you started using that knowledge to enrich yourself and do all kinds of foul sh** to change your future.
Now imagine another group was opposed to this idea, believing you were doing more harm than good, so basically worked their way backwards to stop you, but had to do so in a way that created a closed time loop, so the events were essentially shut off from the main timeline and maintained the natural order of events.
For us, the viewer, we're watching the order of events, essentially out of order, but the main thing to pay attention to is the temporal pincer maneuver. There's several throughout, with the entire movie itself being one. The airport, the car chase, the yacht, and the beginning/end of the film. They all loop back on themselves. And that's really the point of the movie. Just a group of dudes closing the time loop so the timeline runs the way it's supposed to.

Ngl I would love to see someone actually do something with the idolization angle. Like instead of uncompromising petty hatred he just keeps on pushing Flash to be his best. Like some kind of rival character from anime or something.
That’s kind of what reverse flash does most of the time. As much as he makes his life hell, he knows Barry will get stronger and faster.

You forgot the part where he did meet Barry in the future as a teen and they went around stopping trouble in the future but Barry found out eobard was creating these dangers himself do he fought eobard and grounded him. Telling him "he'll never have what it takes to be a hero" and that spiraled to thawne becoming resentful and spiteful of Barry. Which then he decided to become his greatest villain instead of greatest side kick

Eobard legit only messes with Barry because he was obsessed with the flash and thought they shared a moment "every second is a gift" only to travel back in time and witnessed Barry share the same moment with Wally West.
Not sure which retcon this one was though I know there's multiple reasons now.

It seems like the only reason he became a villain if because his future self became the reverse flash and he decided to just follow through with it.
I don't know why it's not stated in this video, but another guy I watched said his reasonings is because he wants to become the idolized flash (to essentially replace Barry Allen).

But as Eobard stated himself in series that he created a seen of danger himself and wanted to save people himself to show them who he is, but flash came first and saved them before Eobard...this is the time he started hating the flash

Another fun thing to note; the reason Thawne chose yellow wasn't the whole "reverse" thing, it was because it was the color Kid Flash wore. Thawne wanted to be Barry's protege.
