I dont think so a set of headers/extractors , I would put ceramic coated I bet they don’t do that , ceramic coating keeps more heat in the exhaust that would cost you $2,000 , you can buy the injectors on eBay fit another $1 grand , a Dyno tune might cost you about $300 upgrades valves and cam around $3000 that’s about $7000 so far so they are charging about $5,000 to fit all that whatever that’s way overpriced , as I’m a Auto technician I would do all the work myself and enjoy doing it and save myself the bullshit $5,000 cost in fact the $5,000 left over I would bolt on a turbo with would put out more power than this , I have seen street cars with LS1 with huge turbos on them that don’t even gain traction that put out more power than that

Been watching you guy's RUclips channel (and reading your magazines) for a long time now and I have to say the quality of your videos and reviews have stepped up to the plate and are amazing. They are seriously on par with the likes of Motortrend and EVO magazine. Well done and keep at it!
11.6 on the standard street tyres, from a car that retains 100% factory warranty is bloody impressive... yes you can run faster with aftermarket tuners, mods etc but that's not the point....this kit is ONLY running 10psi which is nothing, and you can order it from factory!! For majority of people, this is an incredible option.
ASD350SXF Think about it , a R32 GT-R runs high 12s and that's almost 30 years ago.
Get a r35 gtr for the same money will do 10.9 0 to 100 in 2.8 stock and actually handle and brake good. Wouldnt waste time with this pov spec family car

Nice except for the auto box, but I’d still buy a vxr8 Bathurst s for £35000. Or even a standard vxr8 with the wortec exhaust system.❤️

@@PretentiousPainters I actually didn’t get a GTS with the 557 pack. I got a GTSR. Love it still. It’s stock so doesn’t hammer like the HSV in this video but pretty close. I love my HSV so much ❤️💯😎

Being close to out of the factory warranty, id suggest looking around for cheaper and better resulting tune shops.
I personally think turbo power kicks supercharged ass for power.
Look into ( TIG INDUSTRIES OR ASE ) for 10k u could have a SV clubby that would walk this W557 by a loooooong way over the QT.

xr6t gtx hey dude, cheers for the reply. I'm not looking to go crazy with the power (turbo or supercharged) just pure V8 with a few upgrades eg exhaust, cold air intake, cam, tune.. would you still recommend those places you mentioned or? I'm in Darwin NT.
Wouldn't go to walkinshaw for anything more then the body kits,, Better off going to a shop where you get more power for less money

Hey mate, sorry on late reply.
I have no idea on "reputable" tune shops up ur way.
I live in NSW though know a few places in Perth/SA/VIC.
Ur best bet would be to log onto the HSV forum and ask as many questions as u need answered.
Most of the Holden/ford forums guys are more then willing to help out on advise.
Id steer u towards - 1/78 headers into dual 3" difflipo exhaust with hooker aero mufflers.
OTR intake and a nice street Cam like the VCM5SE or similar.
Manual or Auto buddy?
If you Travel to AllStar performance WA its a good place that way

Nah then traction would be worse. Suspension and wider wheel package would get this in the 10s no worries. It's easy to get a N/A SS in the 11s with 300rwkwish.

@@jjsorenavki7005 google tells me c6 zr1 is 1650kg and has less power at 476kw same as this car stock not tuned up almost 100kw. corvette also has aero for high speed grip and likely way more rigid due to body style to put the traction down. also Zr1 is known for being hard to handle at a track due to too much power.

The car was built in very limited in numbers mate it wouldn't of satisfied the US market with the population you have Holden did sell the VF Commodore SS in the USA but sold as a Chevy SS its the same car as this one so you would have left hand drive car.

The 400hp number is for the stock ss we export to the united states this one and so many others are in an entirely different leauge
Holden and hsv pretty well know for using engine power instead of power to the wheels, that’s why a gts will do 340kw or so on dyno and not the 430 they claim because that’s to the engine

It's interesting how Holden put a faster transmission into the VF V6's than V8's
@@ESISTTIGER The V6 has a lower torque rating so it blow up with the power of the V8. who cares anyway. Holden autos have always been rank, manual every time.
@@lukesm5747 I have run into issues with throw out bearings and syncros in the manual I have only killed 1 auto because I cracked the gearbox on a gravel road
Only autos i know there have been reliability issues with are the 5L40e(vz sv6 and v6 vz calais and early ve) and the 6L90e (ve 6.0l)
The auto in vf v6 can handle 500nm+ (a tuned turbo or supercharged sv6 or calais can easily get near that mark)

Driving this thing normally, cruising at 100km/h this thing would only use 10L/100 or less.
With a supercharger, efficiency goes up.
And at the same weight, the power required to drive 100km/h is the same regardless of the car.

so get a gts spend 12k and you get a monster 11 second car. not bad

@@JamesMcRae78 Warranty which you will need. Especially its an Aussie car, and the build quality is terrible at best. My self and my service manager were on a first name basis with the problems I had with my VF. Which is unfortunate, cause i really did love that car :(

@@JamesMcRae78 I guess I was just one of the unlucky ones :( Last time it was in to replace the steering rack. Which i was told by the service manager is so common, they even replace it out of warranty. Didn't have the car for 10 days.. thankfully they did give me a loan car. But enough was enough, that was the final straw after a county mile of problems I had with it.
And it can still beat this GTS

For $113,000 you're not going to stick out from the crowd on the road. You'd want to really enjoy what's under the bonnet for that price. Nothing special about the exterior and a ghastly custom interior that makes a SV6 look more premium. So what's it like going around a track against cars of similar price?
