I'm late to this video and your comment but as a UNC fan, thank you. I may hate Duke with all my heart but I respect the institution and the rivalry. We're the two best college basketball programs in the country. We've earned the right to talk trash to each other, but as much as I hate Duke I will call out fans of other programs talking trash when their schools haven't done anything close to what our schools have accomplished.
When you look at all the timeouts NONE of the coaches from Duke said ANYTHING in the huddle, and when you look at timeouts of UNC you see ALL the coaches talking with Hubert and the team. As far as the players not shaking our players hands oh well better luck next year, oh wait Bamchero, Griffing, Roach, Williams and Keels are ONE AND DONES, that's what they get.

Agree….I’m a Carolina Girl who learned college basketball watching Coach Smith. When our oldest son was three years old, we went to Chapel Hill, where his dad graduated (‘82), to see the Dean Dome. That little man ran from one end of that court to the other completely wearing out Daddy. Very cool memory. Also, which college coach actually affected the game to the point that because of Coach Smith’s famous “Four Corners” strategy, the NCAA actually installed the SHOT CLOCK!!! 😂😂😂😂 Loved it!!
The North Carolina Tar Heels have always been a frequently featured university basketball team and though many seemingly had animus for Dean Smith because of his stellar reputation as a coach but more so for his humanitarianism overall UNC has been a team that is beloved all over the country. I suspect that was because Carolina players were always great individuals who were as self-centered and ego-driven as Duke players were rightly or wrongly perceived to be. And Duke has had some really dirty players like Laettner, and some that were greatly overrated like Ferry. Redick was considered overrated. And few Duke players have been impactful in the NBA other than maybe Grant Hill who was injury prone. Carolina, on the other hand, has had some of the greatest players ever in the NBA not to mention Michael Jordan the GOAT. Think about it. Carolina had Billy Cunningham, Larry Brown, Bob McAdoo, Doug Moe, Walter Davis, Bobby Jones, George Karl, Jordan, James Worthy, Sam Perkins, Phil Ford (perhaps the most celebrated Tar Heel of all time), Kenny "the Jet" Smith" Antawn Jamison, Vince Carter, etc., etc. And Dean Smith who beat Coach K like a drum for much of his career at Duke was the most loyal coach ever who put his emphasis on making his players not only great players but great students and human beings. And he could have had many more titles than the two he won because if he thought his player was ready to go pro he'd help get him a high draft status and would influence how his contract was negotiated even demanding the pros offer a bonus if they return to school and get their degree if they went early to the draft. And Smith's players wouldn't make a major decision in their lives without consulting Smith before making it. Smith in his will left every player and team manager $200.00 to have dinner on him after he was gone. Smith was and is still worshiped in this state as not only a Basketball god but as one of the greatest human beings of all time.
Coach K should have never went with the multiple one and done players. It was never the same after he started doing that. It was no longer Duke Basketball to me, it was more like the NBA minors. Freshman always make rookie mistakes that keep them from winning titles....look at Kentucky, same deal there. I bet Coach K has regrets in private about doing it. The bonds and relationships formed cant be the same. Hopefully they will change back soon and start recruiting COLLEGE basketball players first again. Until then, I'm afraid they are going to keep getting beat( when it really counts) by more experienced teams.
I said this along time ago. The majority of the 1 and dones over the past 10 years have went to Duke & Kentucky. Meanwhile teams like UNC, Villanova, UVA, have feasted on getting 4 stars recruit and developing them 2-3 at it shows. The NCAA needs to drop the 1 and done rule. It serves no purpose.

i enjoyed this loss because this duke team has been unwatchable all season and someone needed to do this. coach k is at the end of his career and sometimes man to end something and move on you gotta murder it with extreme prejudice.
I loved Grant Hill and Bobby Hurley and a few other Duke players. No hate for them. But the way that Coach K not only allowed but excused the abhorrent behavior of some of his players (Laettner, Grayson Allen, etc) was what made me dislike him as a coach. As a person, he seems like a nice guy and he's definitely a skilled coach and hall of famer. But I can't respect the way he handled his more troubled kids.
take this loss and stop calling it a fluke. yall wanted this rivalry. yall make a huge deal of it. well there's nothing duke can ever do now to top this. unc beat them 2 times in a row, the first time they meet in the tournament and unc beats them in the final 4 in your legendary coaches last game of his career he coulda went out on top but i don't think he deserves it. i don't think he's a good man. good coach tho.
Great game....this is actually the first Final Four I've seen and the game was fun and competitive. The first game was boring...Villanova looked overmatched, they just didn't have the players to play with Kansas. Kansas was too good defensively kept Villanova out of the paint and made Vilanova earn every point. Gillespie tried to keep the game close but Vilanova was just overmatched.
I have seen most Final Four games starting with Magic Johnson and Larry Bird in 1979, and this was the biggest in terms of storylines, the bitter rivalry between the two schools--and the overall backdrop felt like a heavyweight championship fight.
It's all about recruiting and talent...I'm not diminishing coaching one bit but if coach K doesn't get those 5 and 4 star players then he's just another coach.
