So after more than 60 years of life I'm nearly to a workable daily routine. Big revelations to me are how much you can get done in 5 minutes, take care of it now or it will be harder later, and my husband can fold his own laundry. I do love to hear other people's little tricks and tips to get things done and I have been inspired by your clean sink regimen.

Your daughter “cleaning her plate” is adorable! Kudos to you for teaching good habits while they’re young! I’m curious about the silver box I’ve seen on your kitchen counter in multiple videos. (In this video, it’s when you’re handling your mail.) Thanks for sharing & encouraging me! 😊❤️

I’ve developed so many good habits in recent years, thanks to inspiring and encouraging RUclipsrs like you, The Minimal Mom, and Clutterbug! I do my laundry on a regular schedule instead of putting it off until I’m having to hand wash bras and underwear! I keep my kitchen clean by cleaning it up after dinner. I no longer put off emptying my dishwasher until my sink is full of dirty dishes. Recently I’ve started setting timers in the evenings for making my breakfast and lunch for the next day, doing my exercises, and reading a book. And I’ve finally started sorting through the 120+ years of family photos and memorabilia that came to my house after my parents died. You are so right that one good habit can spur you on to more good habits. It’s amazing! Praise the Lord!

I agree! I started with the clean sink habit, I did it anyway but now I made it a more “ mindful “ habit. When I retired I treated it like I was on vacation but realized in nursing I had had a “ schedule “ and that I am better with a schedule. I also switched by laundry to doing my clothes and my husband’s clothes separately, so much easier to fold & put away. So now I wash, dress etc first thing and have my water set out the night before. I recently was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s so I’m more fatigued than I’m used to. I’m still a work in progress. Thanks for your videos.

This is really helpful. When I was much younger ( I'm 56) I had no problem and cleaning was easy and I only had 1 child. Now, my cleaning OCD seems to have gone away! I have a lot of health issues so I worry excessively about this. So I'm going to adopt several of these, especially the mail and boxes that just overwhelm the house. I do the sink every morning and night, and I have an upstairs vacuum and a downstairs vacuum because I cannot lift them and a smaller hand held for the stairs. This was very encouraging and motivating. Thank you!

Ok. This page is a lifeline.
Here’s what I love about it:
    1) It’s so empowering to see someone who doesn’t do this “naturally” learn and slay at life organization (I remember you’d mentioned in another video how you had to teach yourself how to be an organizer). I have Inattentive ADHD and I love a tidy space but haven’t ever built the habits. So this gives me hope and empowers me.
    2) You communicate in a super relatable way, and are clear and concise. You seem natural and not too casual (one one extreme) nor too produced (one the other). Feels like I’m hangin’ out having coffee with my sister or something.
    3) The b-roll shots *show* what you’re describing, so it really helps us visual peeps to stay engaged, and be inspired to know what to do…b/c we can *see* what you mean.
    4) The content itself is incredibly helpful - b/c it’s about little things I can put into practice right away. I don’t need to clear a day to get my spaces in order - I just need to start small and make the tiny tweaks each day toward my goals.
Ok that’s all 😂 Thank you so much for going through the work to make these videos!!!

All the family's clothing set out, kids lunches packed, coffee and water bottles prepped and dishes done 😊 then retidying flat spaces and finishing laundry. Sometimes catch a work out too :)

Cool Vacuum! My 120 lb Golden Ret/Malamute mix had her tongue removed because of cancer. (2010) So I had to hand feed her and to say we made a mess lol is a huge understatement ❤ But I loved her and would’ve done it for 100 yrs! This Vacuum with the mop as a part of it would’ve been Great! So don’t think you need kids to need this! Wish I would’ve had this! I had a new Granddaughter back then at the same time so clean floors was a must! I swept and mopped that floor up to 5 times a day! This Vacuum/mop would be fantastic for any household with a special needs Animal! She literally just grabbed it, used it, & put it back lol No changing things, no cords, lol Just bam…. Clean!
    Anyhow 😊

I wish I could have heard you when I was young and had young children!! I'm 73 now and my worst habit is Procrastination!!!! People rarely come to my apartment, and I'm retired, so I have a lot of time. You'd think my place would be spotless, right? nope! I do have to use a walker, but it's more a case of no ambition, rather than can't. It takes me twice as long as it used to tho. I watch your videos to give me more motivation---you are so busy! Being pregnant a a mother of little kids, you really should schedule 8 hrs of sleep! I'm wishing you an easy delivery and a healthy happy baby!!

Same here! After retirement I kind of lost myself in procrastination. Having had a regulated life I thought letting go was heaven. It was for a time, but resulted in chaos around me. Now I am literally fighting myself back into certain Routines which make me feel better. Lesson learned: I thrive more in a well organised and cleaned environment. Motivation seems to be the big challenge here. Sunshine is a Major factor, so defeating grey rainy days has been difficult the last 5 months! But I have found that loud music helpt! My neighbours probably think I am reverting back to the eighty's, but that is a minor xonsideration😅.

A tip for you regarding laundry. I have two kids and I finally got laundry under control when I did these things. I stopped folding their clothes, especially not pjs. I don’t use dressers. I have bins which makes it easier to just throw in clothes as they come out of the dryer. I do their laundry in separate loads so that their clothes don’t mix which means I don’t have to sort by each kid. I buy the same white socks for both kids so I don’t have to find matching pairs anymore.

I have a 1 and 3 year old at home all day, that means we're having at least three, if not five meals in the kitchen/dining area every day and I adore that I'm no longer on my hands and knees scrubbing off yogurt drops and picking up crumbs. Our little "Rocky" handles that for me and with the auto-emptying dock, I only have to change out a dust bag every two months. Also, love how easy it is to clean my waist-length hair off its rollers. I do have to refill the water tank for it to wipe down the floors, but since we have an annoying home with pointlessly recessed living areas, it doesn't need to be refilled too often.

Your expression “ My future self will thank me.” I found Really helpful ! I think I also started with the kitchen sink too Thx for all your helpful advice!
Good luck with baby #3. Other experts say to group habits eg. Brush teeth then floss. Clean sink then make coffee( or vice versa).

I tried the kitchen sink habit and it truly did ripple out to other habits for me, too. I’ve always loved your common sense approach to household management. Having context and examples is so helpful. For the other moms out there or just other overwhelmed people remember to be honest when you’re evaluating whether your habits are meeting your needs. Having habits like these goes a long, long way. Habits brought my house back from the brink of chaos. But you might also just need some help. My new motto: be strategic.

Kallie discovered the clean kitchen sink rule on her own, as a manner of self-help and self-preservation. When she mentioned it online, others commented that they'd learned it from Flylady. She checked out Flylady for herself, and gives her many thanks and much respect. But Kallie didn't "steal" the idea of a clean sink every night. 😊

Enjoyed this. I have been very ill and as I get better I have more energy to do things I haven't been able to do. (My husband has been my rock.) So your video helped me get my muddled brain sorted into things I can actually start achieving every day. Have subscribed.

I agree about the mail and packages. I have learned to take 2 minutes to deal with the mail immediately! I bring it in the house and grab the letter opener. If I don’t do this, it is too easy to forget about it and mail gets lost. This habit works great for me. Thank you for sharing all of your habits. I appreciate ALL your videos.

Oh my goodness! I recently got a wet dry vac (I got a dreame) and it really is a game changer!!! It sounds horrible but I didn't really mop before 😅 but now I do a quick sweep (I have a 10 month old so there is ALOT of food on the ground lol) and because sweeping doesn't have to be perfect it really is so quick and then I pull out my vac mop and vola! My floors have never been cleaner

    Great tips.
I couldn’t stay in pjs all day tho, especially if I hadn’t had a shower. I feel much more together when I shower & then get dressed, even if I’m not going out.
I put all my washing (laundry) away as soon as the tumble dryer has finished. I hate it around the house all day waiting to be put away.
A lot of people in the UK hang their washing on the line. Not me, I don’t even own a washing line.
