I find getting dressed up for and going to church on Sunday highlights the best part of the week and helps the whole family to be reminded of Who's really in charge.
This is really helpful. When I was much younger ( I'm 56) I had no problem and cleaning was easy and I only had 1 child. Now, my cleaning OCD seems to have gone away! I have a lot of health issues so I worry excessively about this. So I'm going to adopt several of these, especially the mail and boxes that just overwhelm the house. I do the sink every morning and night, and I have an upstairs vacuum and a downstairs vacuum because I cannot lift them and a smaller hand held for the stairs. This was very encouraging and motivating. Thank you!
I thought this was on 1.5x speed lol. Would love to see what type of cleaning/organizing your spouse helps with and how household chores are divided in your house.
So after more than 60 years of life I'm nearly to a workable daily routine. Big revelations to me are how much you can get done in 5 minutes, take care of it now or it will be harder later, and my husband can fold his own laundry. I do love to hear other people's little tricks and tips to get things done and I have been inspired by your clean sink regimen.
Your "clean the kitchen sink" every night is the biggest help in my life. It is greatly appreciated by me the next morning if I'm up 1st, but more so by my hubby since he is now the 1st one up. He has now started getting the coffee pot ready for the morning before he comes to bed - 🎉 these minimal or simple living videos are what have helped me a better housekeeper & it's influencing my hubby too. 😊
Yes. Kallie discovered on her own that cleaning her sink every night gave her the head start for the next morning, and a good jumping-off place for the rest of the house. When she posted that online, commenters said that they'd learned that tip from Flylady. Kallie checked out Flylady, and has given her respectful shout-outs from time to time. But Kallie didn't "steal" the idea. 😊
Been watching Kallie for several months now, and if you change the speed to .75 as suggested in other comments, she sounds like she normally does! Click on wheel and simply adjust the speed. Kallie, your tips are very helpful, and I wish you the best with your third sweet baby!
I agree! I started with the clean sink habit, I did it anyway but now I made it a more “ mindful “ habit. When I retired I treated it like I was on vacation but realized in nursing I had had a “ schedule “ and that I am better with a schedule. I also switched by laundry to doing my clothes and my husband’s clothes separately, so much easier to fold & put away. So now I wash, dress etc first thing and have my water set out the night before. I recently was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s so I’m more fatigued than I’m used to. I’m still a work in progress. Thanks for your videos.
Ok. This page is a lifeline. Here’s what I love about it: 1) It’s so empowering to see someone who doesn’t do this “naturally” learn and slay at life organization (I remember you’d mentioned in another video how you had to teach yourself how to be an organizer). I have Inattentive ADHD and I love a tidy space but haven’t ever built the habits. So this gives me hope and empowers me. 2) You communicate in a super relatable way, and are clear and concise. You seem natural and not too casual (one one extreme) nor too produced (one the other). Feels like I’m hangin’ out having coffee with my sister or something. 3) The b-roll shots *show* what you’re describing, so it really helps us visual peeps to stay engaged, and be inspired to know what to do…b/c we can *see* what you mean. 4) The content itself is incredibly helpful - b/c it’s about little things I can put into practice right away. I don’t need to clear a day to get my spaces in order - I just need to start small and make the tiny tweaks each day toward my goals. Ok that’s all 😂 Thank you so much for going through the work to make these videos!!!
Your daughter “cleaning her plate” is adorable! Kudos to you for teaching good habits while they’re young! I’m curious about the silver box I’ve seen on your kitchen counter in multiple videos. (In this video, it’s when you’re handling your mail.) Thanks for sharing & encouraging me! 😊❤️
These are all great ideas!!❤ I have been walking up at least an hour early and getting a lot of home tasks done before work..like laundry and tidying . Then when I get home from work I do all the nightly tasks and prep for the next day and it goes so much smoother when everything is ready the night before. All the family's clothing set out, kids lunches packed, coffee and water bottles prepped and dishes done 😊 then retidying flat spaces and finishing laundry. Sometimes catch a work out too :)
Callie, I LOVE your channel and I am thrilled I found you! I have one request for you to consider - your videos almost seem as though you are always in hyper drive or have been edited to increase the rate at which you speak. It would be wonderful to have you slow them back down to a more “peaceful pace” and make your valuable content easier to take in.
Your family is beautiful! I am up at 4 am eastern every single day. Sundays I sleep til 5. And I have been doing it for years and I love having a routine. I have my own strange rules like not leaving dishes in the sink overnight etc...it works for me. Great video!
LoL .. I can't get to sleep til 2 a.m! I would love to be able to get up at 4 but that ain't happening! I do wake up around 6-ish and play around with my planner & to-do list for the day, feed & water & cuddle my cat. For me all that is as good as more sleep, then I'm raring to start my day. Years of shift work really messed up my sleep 'schedule' years ago.
Agree with this all 100%! I started getting up at 5:00-5:30am, but I'm now finding it a difficult adjustment as sometimes I don't get home until 12am from my mix of shifts at work! Still working on trying to find the right balance!
Great video, Kallie! Another thing I learned from you a year or two ago is Scan & Fix. It's so quick and easy to look around and straighten the couch blanket and put away things left out on the coffee table (or whatever else needs to be fixed). I thank you every time I Scan & Fix!! 😍
Thank you for this video. I am almost an empty nester so kid stuff doesn’t apply to me in this stage of my life but… I can still apply the routine. I just watched this video six times in a row. Thank you for laying out the steps for your actual routine. I have been applying the clean my kitchen sink rule and it has made a huge difference!!
Thank you for sharing all that you share! We are trying to tackle routines as a family and have been using many of your tips and tricks. The progress is slow, but we notice a little difference everyday ❤
This was so helpful. I appreciate the creativity you put in to your videos, particularly the sponsorship portions. It actually feels like you put effort into making it work and flow with the content, rather than being something people just want to immediately skip through. You're so good at your job. I haven't commented much but I've been watching for a couple of months and have come to appreciate these videos so much. They actually leave me with something VALUABLE! Thank you! Lord please watch over Kali during her labor and delivery and allow it go as quickly and smoothly as possible with a result of healthy mom and baby, and quick recovery time. In Jesus's name. Amen.
I really love a clean kitchen, that's a habit I started early on which was 30+ years ago. I do feel exhausted after watching your videos but I get inspired, thank you for sharing 🙂
Aye caramba! You're 'talking ninety to the dozen' today, sounding SO strung out. Good advice here, particularly getting up early. It's just great to have time to *think* before the day begins - a gentle start to the day. I can achieve so much in that window, at my own pace - all accompanied by the dawn chorus. Happy Easter to you and your family!
Great video! Thank you for taking the time out of your busy life to instruct and encourage us. My Mom was very successful in home organization, cleaning and in her business. So many of these 15 habits are exactly what she adhered to and taught us ❣️
Cool Vacuum! My 120 lb Golden Ret/Malamute mix had her tongue removed because of cancer. (2010) So I had to hand feed her and to say we made a mess lol is a huge understatement ❤ But I loved her and would’ve done it for 100 yrs! This Vacuum with the mop as a part of it would’ve been Great! So don’t think you need kids to need this! Wish I would’ve had this! I had a new Granddaughter back then at the same time so clean floors was a must! I swept and mopped that floor up to 5 times a day! This Vacuum/mop would be fantastic for any household with a special needs Animal! She literally just grabbed it, used it, & put it back lol No changing things, no cords, lol Just bam…. Clean! Anyhow 😊 Just wanted to throw that out there! I’d have loved to have spent less time cleaning and more with my Granddaughter ❤ (who is now in middle school 😳) and my dog, who is in heaven 😇
Mother to 3 kids and the morning madness is real. Having something like water bottles out ready and filled Is a help. Waking up early helps. Or just making sure you wake up before the kids do is important.
I agree about the mail and packages. I have learned to take 2 minutes to deal with the mail immediately! I bring it in the house and grab the letter opener. If I don’t do this, it is too easy to forget about it and mail gets lost. This habit works great for me. Thank you for sharing all of your habits. I appreciate ALL your videos.
Sharing my notes, in case they are helpful for anyone, I counted 14, did I miss one ?! 😂 1. Wake up some time every morning (4.49am for Kallie, oof!) 2. Exercise - changed way to look at exercising to be stronger 3. Switch the laundry - daily effort, little and often 4. Empty dishwasher 5. Post breakfast tidy 6. Get dressed (out of PJ’s) 7. Check on To Do list - schedule time to complete the actions 8. Late afternoon tidy 9. Attend to the post 10. Kids pre bed tidy 11. Clean the Kitchen sink every night (like Fly Lady) 12. After dinner sweep / mop floors 13. Prep for tomorrow - water bottles, coffee ready 14. Prep for clothes to wear tomorrow
I wish I could have heard you when I was young and had young children!! I'm 73 now and my worst habit is Procrastination!!!! People rarely come to my apartment, and I'm retired, so I have a lot of time. You'd think my place would be spotless, right? nope! I do have to use a walker, but it's more a case of no ambition, rather than can't. It takes me twice as long as it used to tho. I watch your videos to give me more motivation---you are so busy! Being pregnant a a mother of little kids, you really should schedule 8 hrs of sleep! I'm wishing you an easy delivery and a healthy happy baby!!
Same here! After retirement I kind of lost myself in procrastination. Having had a regulated life I thought letting go was heaven. It was for a time, but resulted in chaos around me. Now I am literally fighting myself back into certain Routines which make me feel better. Lesson learned: I thrive more in a well organised and cleaned environment. Motivation seems to be the big challenge here. Sunshine is a Major factor, so defeating grey rainy days has been difficult the last 5 months! But I have found that loud music helpt! My neighbours probably think I am reverting back to the eighty's, but that is a minor xonsideration😅.
I tried the kitchen sink habit and it truly did ripple out to other habits for me, too. I’ve always loved your common sense approach to household management. Having context and examples is so helpful. For the other moms out there or just other overwhelmed people remember to be honest when you’re evaluating whether your habits are meeting your needs. Having habits like these goes a long, long way. Habits brought my house back from the brink of chaos. But you might also just need some help. My new motto: be strategic.
Kallie discovered the clean kitchen sink rule on her own, as a manner of self-help and self-preservation. When she mentioned it online, others commented that they'd learned it from Flylady. She checked out Flylady for herself, and gives her many thanks and much respect. But Kallie didn't "steal" the idea of a clean sink every night. 😊
I love this video! Well I love all of them, but this one did what Chat GPT couldn’t do for you you did it for me- a routine. Also both your kids are just adorable 🥹I am so glad that you are teaching them such good habits at a such a tender age.
I have the same blender, really awesome product. There were a lot of reviews that suggested not putting it in the dishwasher because over time the heat would cause issues with the blades insertion in the blender pitcher.
You know what does basically clean the floors for you, the Roborock robot vacuums; I have a Q7 and LOOOOOVVVVVVVEEEEE it. I have a 1 and 3 year old at home all day, that means we're having at least three, if not five meals in the kitchen/dining area every day and I adore that I'm no longer on my hands and knees scrubbing off yogurt drops and picking up crumbs. Our little "Rocky" handles that for me and with the auto-emptying dock, I only have to change out a dust bag every two months. Also, love how easy it is to clean my waist-length hair off its rollers. I do have to refill the water tank for it to wipe down the floors, but since we have an annoying home with pointlessly recessed living areas, it doesn't need to be refilled too often.
Your expression “ My future self will thank me.” I found Really helpful ! I think I also started with the kitchen sink too Thx for all your helpful advice! Good luck with baby #3. Other experts say to group habits eg. Brush teeth then floss. Clean sink then make coffee( or vice versa).
Thanks for your videos 👍 I'm trying the clean sink before going to bed after looking at your videos 💪 And when I'm tired, l thinking of myself of tomorrow as you suggest 😉 And congratulations for baby number 3 😊
I just bought that same floor cleaner! It arrived yesterday! Can't wait to use it! I need it for the floor area where my doggy door is. I HATE having dishes in my sink I always clean it out. I have my water bottle ready in the fridge for the morning. I grab and go.
Thank you so much for all of your wonderful motivation. I am a evening Sink cleaner thanks to you. Total game changer. ??? What is the name of the coffee pot on your video?
Enjoyed this. I have been very ill and as I get better I have more energy to do things I haven't been able to do. (My husband has been my rock.) So your video helped me get my muddled brain sorted into things I can actually start achieving every day. Have subscribed.
Love the shift in thinking that exercising is about making the body stronger! I am curious if you take naps since you wake up so early? And esp now that you're expecting another baby!
Oh my goodness! I recently got a wet dry vac (I got a dreame) and it really is a game changer!!! It sounds horrible but I didn't really mop before 😅 but now I do a quick sweep (I have a 10 month old so there is ALOT of food on the ground lol) and because sweeping doesn't have to be perfect it really is so quick and then I pull out my vac mop and vola! My floors have never been cleaner
Hi! Your videos are so informative. But can you create some content for ladies who have 9 hrs day job. Would appreciate if you share some tips for organizing our day and managing time.
Great tips. I couldn’t stay in pjs all day tho, especially if I hadn’t had a shower. I feel much more together when I shower & then get dressed, even if I’m not going out. I put all my washing (laundry) away as soon as the tumble dryer has finished. I hate it around the house all day waiting to be put away. A lot of people in the UK hang their washing on the line. Not me, I don’t even own a washing line.
I taught my kids at a young age to clear their space. I was pleasantly surprised when they'd come home from being at a friend's house talking about how others didn't do that! Parents would call me to tell me how my kids washed the dinner dishes. Fast forward to their early 20s and I don't even know who these young adults are! They'll figure it out one day! Hahaha
I know motherhood is difficult. I have 2 and stayed home 10 years to be with them. Best decision. I also raised a village of other children at that time. Though it was Very rewarding, please don't forget how blessed you are in this day and age to be able to be a mom a home!!!!!!!
Yes, consistency is the key in everything!! Good tips, and I quote your line... tomorrow Melanie, will thank you!! It's small steps forward. I also have tried to adopt another one of your philosophies... just get up and do it. If you wait until you feel like it; it may never get done!! Very simple, yet effective!!! I appreciate, your techniques to adopt these daily habits!!❤
Everyone is different. Some of us need more sleep.....I have Amartya needed more - even when single and no chd. Try taking a 10 to 20 min nap during the day to help you get through. Look after yourself. ❤
A tip for you regarding laundry. I have two kids and I finally got laundry under control when I did these things. I stopped folding their clothes, especially not pjs. I don’t use dressers. I have bins which makes it easier to just throw in clothes as they come out of the dryer. I do their laundry in separate loads so that their clothes don’t mix which means I don’t have to sort by each kid. I buy the same white socks for both kids so I don’t have to find matching pairs anymore.
Do you have recommendations for those who leave at 4am and return at 5pm? It seems like there's no possibility for the house to get messy, but without fail, it does 😢
Hi Kailey, I thought your content was quite good, but, at one point I found myself considering whether I should stop, adjust the speed, and start again because you were speaking SO quickly that I could barely hear the ideas you were presenting - let alone process and digest as you spoke… Could you please slow your speech down a bit in future videos? Keep up the great work.
I find getting dressed up for and going to church on Sunday highlights the best part of the week and helps the whole family to be reminded of Who's really in charge.

Can you link that coffee maker? I need that in my life. ☕️
I do the same thing with my morning coffee. I prep it before going to bed the night before. The future me appreciates it each and every morning.
I love this video! Well I love all of them, but this one did what Chat GPT couldn’t do for you you did it for me- a routine. Also both your kids are just adorable 🥹I am so glad that you are teaching them such good habits at a such a tender age.
Congratulations on your new little person x
I have the same blender, really awesome product. There were a lot of reviews that suggested not putting it in the dishwasher because over time the heat would cause issues with the blades insertion in the blender pitcher.
I had already started some of these like picking out the next day’s outfit & it truly is a game changer!
Like the compound effect. Love this so much!❤❤
Your expression “ My future self will thank me.” I found Really helpful ! I think I also started with the kitchen sink too Thx for all your helpful advice!
Good luck with baby #3. Other experts say to group habits eg. Brush teeth then floss. Clean sink then make coffee( or vice versa).
I love how you’re so to the point!
Love to see the children helping 💞
Omg another sweet baby! 🥰 Thankful for your channel, love to you and your's!
Agreed - slow down!
Thanks for your videos 👍
I'm trying the clean sink before going to bed after looking at your videos 💪 And when I'm tired, l thinking of myself of tomorrow as you suggest 😉
And congratulations for baby number 3 😊
These are great and productive habits. Consistency is key, it becomes muscle memory. 😃
I really needed your message now, today! Thank you❤
I really like the lists you make. Thank you as I have changed my life.
Love that coffee/cap machine! Can you share what brand it is? Thanks
Enjoyed this. I have been very ill and as I get better I have more energy to do things I haven't been able to do. (My husband has been my rock.) So your video helped me get my muddled brain sorted into things I can actually start achieving every day. Have subscribed.
I’m currently decluttering my spare bedroom into an office/pantry room so right now I need boxes to put stuff in. So, I can clear out the space
Love the shift in thinking that exercising is about making the body stronger!
I am curious if you take naps since you wake up so early? And esp now that you're expecting another baby!
Bless your cotton socks for helping me keep on track.
Thanks for sharing your tips - they’re super helpful! 😊 Love your videos ❤.
I had no problem with the speed of her talking. Great video and thanks Kallie for all your helpful hints. Even if I’m not doing many of them yet. Lol
Congrats on your pregnancy! I’m 35 weeks now 😊
Congratulations 🎉
Thank you for these, they are so helpful
You always leave me motivated thank u
I definitely with you.
You are a powerhouse! Great tips! Thank you for all the wonderful.videos you make...love your olive tree in the background!
Terrific as always! Thank you! ❤️
What type of flooring do you have in your kitchen?
Fly lady and shine your sink she really made a difference to me too. Can’t believe you get up so early wish I could
I taught my kids at a young age to clear their space.
Always love your videos your always an inspiration I love those bags where did you get them
This was very encouraging! Thank you! 😊
I’ve been enjoying my subscription to this channel ❤
Do you ever have meet-ups? I live in CT and would love to meet you!
I’ve been getting up at 5:30 and feel pretty tired throughout the day. (Also pregnant here with #4 🙋♀️) What time do you go to sleep?
Everyone is different. Some of us need more sleep.....I have Amartya needed more - even when single and no chd. Try taking a 10 to 20 min nap during the day to help you get through. Look after yourself. ❤
Always needed more....typo before sorry
Thank you 🙏🏻
Valuable, thanks!
great ideas. Thank you. It is awesome that you have your kids help❣♥
These are great tips. I have two as well and will use these! Thanks
What is the name of the wet/dry vacume ?
If you need to return a mattress that comes vacuum sealed, how do you repackage it? Love your channel .
thanks
Do you have recommendations for those who leave at 4am and return at 5pm? It seems like there's no possibility for the house to get messy, but without fail, it does 😢
Boy, time is flying! Can't wait to see the new little one!
It got me tired to listen.
awesome tips!
What is that coffee machine -- looks awesome?
I really loved this video, and i love the speed. My adhd brain didnt get bored at all 😅
Something went wrong with the speed of the sound. It makes it hard to listen to the video.
What coffeemaker is this? I need this in my life.
Very motivating ❤❤
Hee hee, your child "emptying" the plate is adorable!
Love your channel always ❤
What coffee maker do you have?
What brand is your steam cleaner? The link I found no longer works. TIA
Great tips. Thank you😊
