I hadn't ever noticed a gassifier with the pot holders like this before. Just found a "Tomshoo" branded one on ebay and ordered it, thanks for this video!
Nice review, thanks! Something that makes a huge difference in water boiling time, I've found, is the bottom diameter of your pot. A wider pot will boil a lot faster than a skinny one. Might be interesting to time it again with a different shaped pot!
This is the best twig wood gasifier stove for camping out there! Howver mine was branded 'INTEY' I've been using it for many years and still do. It's great once you learn how to use it. I've recently bought it's big brother which is also awsome. Both I'd say are the best camping wood stoves there are.
I agree! Having a single stove system that can accommodate twigs, wood pellets, solid fuel pellets, and alcohol gave me the confidence that I will not run out of fuel -- and without having to carry multiple gas canisters -- especially when it is difficult to know how much gas remains. Plus, being able to cook as long as I want means that I am not limited to freeze-dried Mountain House meals. I can cook things like pasta and rice that take awhile to cook. After reducing the twigs to coals, by limiting the amount of new twigs added to the fire, you can also control the heat. There are some drawbacks: One is weight. Although it packs up into itself well, it is heavy. If you are an ultra-light packer, this system is too heavy, especially when you include the additional items you would need like pot and lids built to handle hot open wood fires. Another drawback have to do with fire restrictions. This is not something you could take on an extended through-hike on the PCT or a bike tour when weight is a factor. Another concern is soot. You need to be able to clean your kit and store it in a bag to isolate it from your other gear so you don't get soot all over everything. Finally, you also should have something for ground protection from the fire. A ground fire can burn for days undetected. A small metal plate placed under your stove can prevent embers from igniting the ground. All that being said, a variation of this system is my go-to for canoe camping and hiking trips when weight is not a factor. I found a pot that the stove fits into as well as a small fry pan where everything nests.
yes, since looking at the design, I do think i can improve my smaller homemade one to work better, but why bother this thing is fantastic.@@ZimCoSurvival
Just added this little baby to my "wish list" on Amazon! I'm pretty sure I couldn't MAKE a stainless steel stove any cheaper than 30 bucks. Seems well worth the money. I'm not a backpacker but I like to have some emergency equipment in my vehicle (just in case!). This looks like it will suite my needs quite well. Thanks for the great review.
@@ZimCoSurvival Bein' an old Boy Scout, I like to "Come Prepared". Got some shelter. Got some food and water. Got a hatchet and rope. The "Five C's". I think this little stove will fit right in quite nicely. And Thank You so much for responding so quickly. I really appreciate that.
Not a problem! I hate when you comment on someone's video to ask a question or get feedback and hear nothing back. Kinda makes me wonder why post the video at all if you don't want to talk to people!
Anybody know which stowaway pot, steel lunch box, billy or mess kit where this can fit in? Packed up, it's too tall to fit into the MSR Alpine Stowaway Pot. Was hoping for ideas on what's a good replacement.
I am trying to figure out if the Lixada has a shallower depth to the burn-wood-receptacle chamber which would give a shorter burn time. No ones got good statistics on these burn chambers. Just the outside statistics are given and you can't always trust the numbers on sales listings on Amazon or anywhere, anyway.
These are TLUD stoves so i prefer the original version with the Bowl top/potstand. But I got one of these for 10€ on sale so I chose it instead. It’s also slightly heavier than the bowl top. If you prepackit and light it from the top it’ll burn longer than you’ll need to cook for, oftentimes. And there’s coals at the end capable of grilling thinly sliced meat.
i was just today out in backyard boiling water on my homemade gassier stove, a art, paint can with a soup can in center, not a fan of the thing , looks like the larger ones like u have there are the way to go, with the small one im constantly tending to the fire. it works, just not like i wish it would, or well like yours did there in the video, and if im not mistake that one there the lixada is way cheaper than oh what is it the solo brand maybe i think, so ya i think you've sold me on this one i will try to order one . thanks
Thanx for the heads-up!... Ordered this one of the so many versions. Hope this one still fits the zebra 14cm lunch box. Can't wait till I get mine. Cheers!
Incidentally, anyone who owns one of Lixada's smaller wood carburettors with the same diameter can marvelously combine with the individual parts👍For example, the large pot stand fits perfectly on the small Lixada. Only the pack size has 1 cm more height☝️
Hi, in the UK link is not the video showen stove, I'm little confused, in the link is a square stove and non with the halve open cut top ring. I can't find the stove in the video with the pot stand on top.
Awesome! Thank you! If you want to try denatured alcohol, yellow bottle heet, or Trangia fuel bottle go head. These fuels don't blacken your pots with soot like the 70% and 91% alcohol does.
Yes normally I use denatured alcohol :) on my previous alcohol videos I used isopropyl alcohol just to show you could :) I had a lot of people asking me about it lol. I actually had one person ask If he could use gasoline in a zippo.... I had to strongly advise against that one :)

Hi, thanks for the video. What's the weight of this? On amazon it's set unrealistically low som places. I found their website, where it's higher, but would be nice with a "reviewed" weighing.
Does this stove or these stove types work well with charcoal briquets or wood pellets instead of using little twigs, bark and small chunks of wood ? I'd think you'd get a better more consistent heat that will also burn longer and doesn't need to be constantly fed like these type of stoves often require. I know my homemade one I can't walk away for even 5 minutes without having to reload it with twigs and little wood chunks.
How long would you need to wait after the fire has gone out to be able to pack this away??? And any ideas of something to carry with you to prevent the ground being burnt?
first of all thx so much for your good review. Can i ask you a question? what is the difference between this version and the older version? why this version is better in your opinion? thanks so much. Alex
+blinko82 it's basically different in 2 ways. The first and most important is the pot stand. The original had 3 fold up legs. They couldn't hold small pots like the toaks 750ml for example. The new version has 4 pot holders with an x style layout providing stability for any size pot. Number 2. The new one is slightly larger, but honestly it's not a big deal unless your nesting this stove into another pot. In that case go with the old one :)
thanks so much for your fast reply! but about the height when it's closed? this new version is higher? and concluding do you recommend me the new one? I don't have a lot problem of space in my backpack
+blinko82 yes, the new version is about an inch taller when closed. The burn chamber is 2 inches taller when fully set up. This lends to a slightly longer burn time when full. If I were to recommend one and space isn't an issue I would say yes, the new one is a much better stove thanks to its new design :)
First.. thanks for all your reviews.. so detailed and clear! I wish I had seen this New design before I got the older version... still, no problem as I got it just as a back up for my Alcohol Trangia stove, just in case I found myself with no alcohol. Always a great back up. My question is... I saw some Brit. review where they used "kitty litter" for fuel. I'm assuming they use some type of compressed wood pellet over there. Do you feel using wood pellets is a viable fuel for these stoves? I'd be using it for back yard emergency situations.
Was confirmed as order received, and was confirmed by vendor as being dispatched at the time of ordering; I have tried to contact the vendor, but after 10 days, no reply has yet been received. Guess I'll have to look into how to go about cancelling. Thanks for your help, I'm keeping the faith meantime, because it looks like a much improved stove on the original.

Excellent review ZimCo! Sub'd! Looks like Mark Young may have found a very similar model to the updated Lixada. That also has the new opening on the cook stand for feeding twigs into the flame whilst cooking. Plus, it fits into the MSR 775ml pot that everyone in the comment section is gushing over, lol! Everything looks the same with the exception of the fold out legs. Probably gonna buy one of these Lixada's after this review. Cheers!..hope it fits the 775 ! )
Hi, I do not have much experience in this,. +Norberto Lagrava I have a link in the description for bothe the new and old lixada stove :) also the only pot that I know of that can fit the new and old lixada stove is the toaks 1600 ml pot with pan :)
I mean since the flame of the alcohol with the hot air coming from the bottom will enable more oxygen to enter the Chamber from the bottom making it a rocket stove which is burning the wood inside the chamber instead of drafting the wood gas down and into the eagle walls of the chamber

Because I am so sure that the great tribulation will start very soon, I have ordered an EcoZoom Versa few months ago. After that I made two different designs of rocket stoves out of a 1/16 stainless steel sheet. They work great. After ordering the new design Lixada, I bought some stainless steel utensils & containers at the Dollar Store and Walmart and put them together. Now I have few different designs of woodgas stoves. All work great and look great. I am almost ready to face the worst situation..
Has anyone figured out if it fits in the 1.1L MSR Stowaway yet? I have found from different places online that the new stove should have a height of 9.5cm which is 4.7in and the 1.1L Stowaway is 4.75 in tall. Would love to know if it fits.
+Zach Bollheimer the new lixada stove is 3.74 inches tall by 5.31 inches in diameter. The msr alpine 1.1 liter is 3.75 inches tall ( including lid ) by 6.6 inches in diameter. My guess is with them being so close it would not fit due to the curved lid
Thank you. After reading a ton of reviews, watching a lot of reviews, and looking at prices and components of each stove, I would agree that this is stove is by far the best product at this price, and even better then many more expensive ones. Now we've just got to find the pot that it will fit in!
Hey great video, SORRY to get off topic, but man you need to get your thyroid levels checked cause you're lower neck is very swowleen, just saying in case you ah haven't seen it.
Thank you! I did have my thyroid checked and it came back fine :) my doctor said my neck looks like that because I have large neck and shoulder muscles :) i noticed it about a year ago myself lol
Thanks for the very good review. I'm using the same stove for 2 years now and never regreted, bying it. I just need to correct one thing: the smoke ist not pulled down and up the sides. Rather the Air is pulled in from the bottom - some goes through the holes in the middle up, the other through the double wall. There it warms up and ignites the gas, as soon as it enters the Burning chamber at the top-side holes. In one of your other Videos you posted the following link, wich explaines how gasifier stoves work. www.appropedia.org/Wood_gasification_stove
I love these little wood stoves. I think for the ease and versatility of not having to buy or carry extra fuel they are well worth it. The only thing I see on this I'm not sure about is that pot stand. It looks like it was spot welded together and heat cool cycles might pop the weld a part. That said, it would be easy enough to rivet or screw back together if it does. Please consider doing a long term review and see how it has held up.
Good video. I subscribed to your channel. I have an almost identical stove. I made modifications to it and now it is a multi-fuel stove. I have a video on my channel if you want to take a look

I think it's too tall - the MSR pot is listed as 80mm and the stove's height is 11mm. The old version isn't so tall so maybe that would fit.
Does the pot stand of the new version fit the old version? Looks like it's the same diameter🤔

Thanks for the Amazon link, but can you provide an EBay link to this new version? I prefer using PayPal pmt method which Amazon doesn't offer. Thanks!
+Stephen Walther I will try! However as of now I haven't been able to find an eBay link for you :(
I think that burning the woods from the Bottom by the alcohol what turn this process into a rocket stove instead of gasification stove
I mean since the flame of the alcohol with the hot air coming from the bottom will enable more oxygen to enter the Chamber from the bottom making it a rocket stove which is burning the wood inside the chamber instead of drafting the wood gas down and into the eagle walls of the chamber
Can support round type of cooking pot?

+HORNS ahh yep I hate when that happens. I've got a package now that's doing the sw thing. Jan 16 - Feb 20th...
Received the stove today. Very well-made.
Good demonstration for this stove. Thanks and take care. SU.
Thank you!
Unfortunately, the new design is now too tall to nestle inside a MSR Alpine 775ml stowaway pot with the cover on :-(
Yes, huge bummer! I wonder if the new top will nest inside the old bottom??
+Zach Bollheimer I can confirm that the new lixada stove fits perfectly inside of the toaks 1600 ml pot :)
☀️ *_T H A N K S_* _Great review_
Only different I can see is the better pot stand the performance is much the same
Never heat the bottom… gasification stoves are meant to burn from top down
Hey great video, SORRY to get off topic, but man you need to get your thyroid levels checked cause you're lower neck is very swowleen, just saying in case you ah haven't seen it.
In one of your other Videos you posted the following link, wich explaines how gasifier stoves work.

looks more like the solo stove!
+Boyd Hudson it does :) but I would call it a cheap but equil quality alternative
Its better then solo stove becouse its foldable
I love these little wood stoves. I think for the ease and versatility of not having to buy or carry extra fuel they are well worth it.
The only thing I see on this I'm not sure about is that pot stand. It looks like it was spot welded together and heat cool cycles might pop the weld a part. That said, it would be easy enough to rivet or screw back together if it does. Please consider doing a long term review and see how it has held up.
+David Mm i will :) normaly for items like this i do a 1 year update, and i plan to do the same with this stove!
Good video. I subscribed to your channel. I have an almost identical stove. I made modifications to it and now it is a multi-fuel stove. I have a video on my channel if you want to take a look
I f you use Alcohol then use Alcohol, but if you are burning wood, burn wood...
Having options is always a good idea
You forgot to tell that this one is taller then the oryginal one
