  • Herein, we discuss about pursuing a LL.B. degree from abroad and returning to India, and pursuing a LL.M. degree from abroad and flying back to India, and whether it is worth it or not.

      Actually it is not necessary to do that because some University degrees are accepted by the Bar Council of India. So, you can study abroad, then come back and give an exam and begin practicing.

    Sir I think your video isn't addressing the most basic point of getting an LLM from Abroad.
    Which is that people go for LLM in UK/USA to work there rather than come back to India.
    Suppose I go to UK for LLM in Oxford/Cambridge/UCL/LSE/QueensMarry then what I get is high chances to get by top tier magic circle firms like Linklaters, Clifford Chance, Allen and Overy, Herbert Smith etc. because these firms hire very few directly from India but hire more from Top UK University.
    Ofcourse they are going to pay me for a GDL course.
    What's your viewpoint on this?

    • @TLOIAcademy
      @TLOIAcademy  5 лет назад +1

      I am addressing the countless who come back. Know a few hundred who landed back in Delhi and have expensive degrees around their necks and earning peanuts.
      So "most" people -- our perspective differs.
      If you can get into the top universities like you mentioned, please go ahead. No problem.
      And every video can't cater to everyone. My set of audience is different than the one that you have raised :)
      Cheers

    And, how helpful is an LLM for corporate law?

    • @TLOIAcademy
      @TLOIAcademy  5 лет назад +4

      To tell you honestly, since I don't know anyone with this scenario - I can't comment. But imagine going to a law firm there and having to explain that NALSAR is the top law school of India etc etc - that zing vanishes.
      Whereas in India - you say NALSAR - the corporate law firm (not litigation) will treat you to a beer or something.
      You will need to get equivalence

    Sir, i am 12th passed out in 2016 & considering doing bachelors degree in law not from India but from Europe since its cheap and and only 3 years long course whereas in India the same is of 5 years long and I think it's good to save 2 precious years of my life and put these two years in doing LLM from India only. Is that possible to do so from a government university in India? Or will I have to pass BCI exam first to get myself enrolled in LLM?

    Hello Sir , I am doing my LLB from India and will be finishing it in 2020 and then i am wishing to do LLM from UK and again come back to India for judiciary . Is LLM also to be recognised by AIU and is BCI exam to be given after coming back from UK after LLM ?

    • @TLOIAcademy
      @TLOIAcademy  4 года назад

      BCI takes the license exam based on LL.B.
      You will only need AIU certificate in case if you wish to join the govt and show your LL.M. as a degree etc.
      Since you will be full time student, getting the certificate shouldn't be a problem BUT do make sure to get everything in writing before hand.

      @@TLOIAcademy 1. That means before going to UK , I should see that whether AIU recognises LLM from UK or not ?
      2. How to contact AIU ?

    • @TLOIAcademy
      @TLOIAcademy  4 года назад +2

      1 - yes, also check with bci
      2 - Google their website out, contact info will be there. They don't respond over phone etc, better pay a visit
      3 -- their certificate doesn't matter in the private sector
