    This is very sad to see these guys losing hope within a month . I came to UK as an under graduate student at the age of 18 in 2010. I completed my degree and worked hard and now I’m a successful businessman . The situation was the same I was granted tire4 visa for 3 years . I have washed cars entire day and got paid only £10 in London in a polish car wash . The guy is complaining to have waited for taxi 8 hours ? Mate I have slept for 5 days outside didn’t know where to go for 2 weeks was roaming around in freezing London for days with all my luggage and finally found a cheap accommodation . I didn’t make an excuse. I didn’t have money to even eat but never lose hope and believed in my self . Life is tough everywhere , you won’t get anything on plate just know what you’re doing and what you’re capable off . Good luck

I wonder if they will all get a job here and can settle down? There is so much Unemployment in the UK, and other European countries. They all prefer to employ their own citizens first, rather than foreigners from Asian/ African countries. Fortunately I have a job at a good place, as I speak, read and write the local Dialect, and official language Dutch. Good communication skills is very important. 15 years ago India wasn't same as it is now. 1 lakh back then meant a lot, now anyone can earn 1 lakh in India, in fact I see people spending that much per month. I don't think leaving India for a shit life in uk is worth it.

      You don't need to have the UK accent. But you do need to speak English fluently and clearly, and be able to hold the attention of the audience when you speak. I know of many, many Indians who maintained their original accent, but ensured they communicated clearly and fluently, and managed to reach top positions both in the US and UK (including at CEO level in companies, Heads of Departments in Universities, etc.).
      I would even argue it is better not to put on a forced accent, mainly because when you try to speak in an accent you are not comfortable with, it will impede the fluency and clarity of your thoughts you are trying to communicate.
      However, I agree that if you are unable to speak English fluently and clearly, it will be impossible to get professional acceptance.

    • @smollilbean
      @smollilbean Год назад

      Many Indians would just straight up mock you and look down on other indians who try to speak with a native English accent (in an ENGLISH SPEAKING country) it's just super weird because you're accent means almost nothing. If someone speaks in an Indian accent I didn't assume them to be more patriotic but apparently some crack heads do lmao

    Considering the astronomical sums spent by these students, they would be better off at home as they come from regions of India where real estate is relatively cheap and the standards of living are better than major urban centres. Their prospects of securing good employment would not be very promising because of their English language skills and less than impressive educational backgrounds. Most would end up working minimum wage even in the long run. This is the bitter truth. They also ignore the fact that the UK has poverty in the form of homelessness and burgeoning poor neighbourhoods. At this point I hope they are empathetic towards those suffering from high cost of food and energy which is forcing Britishers to decide - heat or eat!

    Someone deleted my comment but I am writing it again with the hope that this time it ain't deleted. Having lived in UK for 5 years and as a student for 4 years (at KCL), I agree with most of the suggestions given above. In my case, AirBnB bookings for 15 days helped a lot. Student accomodations ask you to sign a contract or 56 weeks which then traps you as these are generally higher priced than other private renters. Never fall into the scam of getting rented accomodations before you view the flat. Regarding travel, if you really want to book a cab, use different apps for cab booking before you start your travel from India. Everytime I give a link here, my comment gets cancelled so apologies for my inability to give you specific suggestions on cab booking apps. Furthermore, my cash was stolen on my way from India to London so I would suggest you to have bank cards that have a balance in GBP which are available from different Indian banks.

      That's a shame!🤔 You shouldn't be working but studying hard! Your parents are pays a lot of money so you can study hard in the UK and hopefully get an outstanding degree, so can return to your motherland and make your country 'great' with the knowledge that you have achieved. On 'Wion' recently requested knowledge on technology so India can develop their own technologies, design their own patents and manufacture their own electronic goods. Study hard and make your parents and country proud of you!

    I hv seen your blog. Its really great you are able to show the real situation to those who always dream to study at UK.
    Well , I finished my MBA from Cardiff Metropolitan Uni in the year 2010. Worked over there till 2013 and then back to India. Well , I would request you to upload a blog where there are recruiters who are having sponsorships and can hire candidates in the care sectors . It will help many candidates who are willing to relocate with a work .
    Thank you

    Good point, however, it is best to write to the respective university for guidance on travel and accommodation around the university. I am sure there are student unions / student associations that are very helpful and will be able to direct you accordingly.

      Accomodations around the university are generally highly priced. Student unions can be helpful, though in my case, several Indian students from my department helped me. I found the names of the students through the university website.

    If you are up-to-date with UK,you can travel London to Manchester with 10 pounds otherwise you can spend 40 pounds for a local 10 minutes trip.
    Don't be shy,ask everything from locals.

    Studying in foreign country is always difficult but UK is not good for students at all. As I have been there for 1&1/2 year. I didn't face much challenges but my friends faced it. You will not get jobs due to 2 reasons that one is you are student so there are restriction for hours to do job so they want people who can work full time and second is if you are Indian you will not get job in any uk based companies. If you're lucky enough to get job at any Indian store or company, they will not give you minimum wages for at least 20hrs. I found these reasons clearly. And moreover university and colleges are doing business only. They literally failed you in course to get extra money as fees to give the exam second time. Please don't go UK as a student to waste your or your parents hard earn money.
