- On season 4 of ALONE on the History Channel, Dave lost 42 lbs. and I lost 28. I was down to 97 lbs and the whole time out there I craved a glazed twist donut. I mean, I obsessed about it! So when the moment finally arrives for that first donut- it was worthy of bringing a camera. Hope you enjoy.

What a delight to have Mazie so joyful at your homecoming. Loved seeing bushradical hold the door (donut shop) open for Girlinthewoods. Even though we all know she can build a shelter, fire, catch & cook her meal, survive alone... yet it was great seeing bushradical showing that gentlemanness. RESPECT to you both.
Yeah, that was super but he probably does it all the time.........
There’s nothing like the feel on a cold day of walking into that warm bakery. The scent and the warmth combined is amazing. I miss the fresh Apple fritters I used to get growing up in WA.

My husband and I just finished watching season 4 of Alone. Goodness gracious, we were routing for you guys and supporting you every step of the way! This reunion is so beautiful and joyous! Thank you for sharing. LOVE the donut adventure, the longing, the dream, the hunt, the conquer! So awesome!

My daughter was a big fan of yours even before Alone and she started me to watching the show and your videos. Since then we have got outside more and enjoyed building a few fires. Also, she was so happy she got a bow and arrows for Christmas! I am happy to see this video of you home safe with your family. The best to you!

Mazie so happy to see you two!! I remember my childhood collie her name was Sandy so much like Mazie she would sit at the edge of the property guarding and could run past you like the speed of light knock you off your feel!!

The welcome home was Delightful! and the way your dog was so excited was amazing She was just ecstatic. The dognut part reminded me of when we brought our 16yr old son out of the bush. He had been a juvenile delinquent and we put him into a program called Anasazi in Mesa Arizona. He was in the bush for 10 weeks and lost a lot of weight. The first stop we made after coming out of the bush was a little grocery store, I think in Page Arizona. We were all instructed to only give our kids I think it was 10 dollars.
These kids who hadn't seen food, or much of it went crazy in the store. They went around the store with shopping carts trying to figure out how to get the most food for ten dollars. When they got to the check out they had the hard decision of what they would put back and what delicious delectable they would keep and eat. Incidentally this is the son that now lives in Alaska. Maybe most of us Americans should go through a simular test so we might have more gratitude for the bounty most of us enjoy.

Lemon Filled, my fav....and the apple fritter too....yum these are what I usually get.....hubby has good taste....but I also love the plain glazed ones too.....I know you guys really enjoyed those too...you sure deserved them....you need to eat them every day for the first week you're home for sure.....

Homecomings are the best! When I came after 6 months in Iraq my little Boston Terrier, Tessa was so excited to see me she peed on the kitchen floor and cried and cried! And then the puppy kisses!

Great memories ..When I went thru my survival training in 1999, my SERE instructor dropped me off in the woods here in Oregon for three days with out my gear except for my knife, fero rod, water bottle and poncho liner but no food .. I lived on wild straw berries, huckleberries, water and some trout I caught by hand in a small stream .. I dropped 14 lbs in seven days .. They took us to a small cabin cafe where I ordered a hamburger that I had thought about for the 7days .. I was able to only eat a quarter of it as my stomach had shrunk .. The thing that blew me away was when I tasted the ketchup on my french fries my taste buds exploded .. Damn that was good .. After I promised myself I will never walk into the woods again without a firearm, I saw cougar and bear tracks in several places .. I am not going to end up as cougar or bear poop !!

I don't do the whole cable thing, so I don't watch that show, but I did find a few episodes here on RUclips. Pretty awesome! My family always tells me I could make it on shows like that, but I definitely have a lot more to learn! And weight to gain, lol. It would be nice to try and test myself though.

Two joyous reunions - family and pastries. That must have been literally a dream come true for all of you. Heck of a way to lose weight, though - especially when you didn't need or intend to. From what you've explained earlier, it sounds like you guys were on a forced high protein, low carb diet - that'll take the pounds off pretty fast. Thanks for sharing both reunions. Cheers.

The one thing I haven,t told you,'ll is that the last time I CAME to the States I got crook ( crook is a Sydney Aussie word for sick. )
I caught a flu bug on a bus going from Memphis to Nashville and ended up with pneumonia. So There,s as you can Imagine A LOT MORE TOO THE WHOLE THING but I can relate to a time when all you want and need is to get home . Hey don,t worry , up untill I got sick I had a great time in the USA BUT I only did half my trip. I was supposed to
Go up the East Coast I was in Fort Worth twice for Conferences and I was supposed to go from Fort Worth to D,C
Then New York and then Providence R,I down to New Port R,I then fly from Login back to Dallas and home. The reason I was going to New Port was to pay my Last respects to a female friend I met there In 1983 who corresponded with me for 26 years untill her tragic death in 2008.
But I never got to do that because I pulled stumps ( Aussie Cricket term ) ( IF they are playing a test cricket international match say against England it will go for 5 days unless one side bowl the other out twice before that anyway at the end of play each day they say we are pulling stumps ) ( or pulling the pieces of the Cricket wicket out of the ground. To finish play anyway because of my poor health I realised I needed to go home . I,m a very lucky boy I did make that decision and when I said The Lord Blessed me
It was with the stamina to get home believe me I have only scratched the surface of the story. Cobberdog
