    Such a impressive project.
    Glad to get a deep dive into the whole built now, especially since i probably wouldnt be able to find the original vid again :)

      I’ve included a bunch of the time lapse video in this episode as well, but you can also check the show Notes for the link to her RUclips channel so you can find it again!

    She's from Belgium?!?! That's awesome!! I live in Belgium 2 and I have a ball python and like literally almost everyone in Belgium sucks at keeping reptiles. Like way to small enclosures and wrong care overall. So that really sucks and what sucks even more is that most people here don't want to do research on there pets or even listen to people who do. I found a clip of her enclosure in a fish fir thoughts video I think awhile ago and now to find out she's from Belgium is amazing!!! Gives me hope that people here still do allot of research and do love reptiles☺️ because honestly I began to think I was one of very few who love reptiles (animals in general to!) here in Belgium😅.

    What a treat to watch, listen and absorb everything that was done to accommodate this most special animal. I’m in awe!

    I'm always fascinated to see the kind of behaviours you can find when you provide your animals with a little extra. Just like Anke said about falsies being clumbsy climbers, ball pythons aren't exactly known for their climbing skills, yet mine managed to find himself on top the jackets hanging in my cupboard, and jackets are not the easiest thing to climb. Same with swimming, I noticed my python curtus really enjoyed hanging out in her water bowl, so eventually I gave her a much larger one, and a swimming python curtus really is a unique site to behold, they're better at it then we'd be led to believe. We don't have to provide our animals with giant setups, but a little extra here and there definitely goes a long way.

    So a positive list but like 100 reptiles… Here in Norway we have 9 snakes. And a total of 19 species reptiles… so a list whit like +- 100 reptiles would be a dream 🎉

    This might be an unpopular opinion, but these videos would have more impact if they were much shorter.

    • @AnimalsatHomePodcast
      @AnimalsatHomePodcast  Год назад +1

      Yep, that's exactly right. You can find some recent videos on my channel that have very low views when compared to the podcast episodes. It's the nature of the algorithm. Plus, it's a podcast so you don't have to watch it on RUclips, you can listen in your car, at the gym, etc.

      @@ZaryaTheLaika I never said anything about replacing them with shorts. Way to jump to conclusions. There’s a huge amount of time between 30 seconds and 1.5 hours.

    • @guy8646
      @guy8646 Год назад

      @@AnimalsatHomePodcast 1-2 hours is a huge ask of most people. I don’t think you have enough short videos to really gauge what would be most successful. It’s clear from many good reptile RUclipsrs that shorter videos are plenty successful. And when I say short, I don’t mean “shorts”-I mean 10-20 minute videos.
      I get that this is a podcast format. I’m just saying I think there’s a ton of people who aren’t getting anything out of this and who will never sit through enough of the content to learn anything.
      I just wonder if you end up preaching to the choir and not really reaching the people who most need to hear this information. Or even people like me who are on board with these topics but don’t have 1.5-2 hours to get through these.

    • @AnimalsatHomePodcast
      @AnimalsatHomePodcast  Год назад +1

      @@guy8646 I hear what you were saying, but the reason that those channels are successful with short videos is because that’s the type of videos they make. You’d be hard-pressed to find smaller channels (like mine) that fluctuate successfully between long format (1 hr +) and short format videos (5-15 mins). At this point, the RUclips algorithm is “tuned“ to promote long format content on my channel.
      Now, I COULD spend a few months posting shorter videos with the goal of having the algorithm eventually promote them however I’m just not interested. I really enjoy recoding the podcast. This channel is purely a hobby for me and I want to produce the content I enjoy producing. Making short videos would be “work” I’m not interested in doing if that makes sense.
      In fact, most of the profit I “make“ on the podcast goes towards paying an editor to edit the show. I have a very busy full time job so I don’t even have the time to edit the content I am producing so adding shorter videos on top of producing a regular podcast would be virtually impossible.
      If someone wanted to, they could take the important clips of each episode, and provide additional commentary and make their own videos to give the “coles notes” from each episode. That would be perfectly fine to do under Fair Use. So if your looking for a project, go for it 😉
