Thanks to you Meris and Cathy…..I Passed my NCLEX RN First Gen exams on Saturday. Your videos were very helpful during my review period. The Cool Chicken was awesome.Bless you all
for going up the stairs with crutches I just remember it like this "up with good down with the bad" like you goo to heaven if you're good and you know the rest lol
I think if we only have one good leg this is the only one we can step on, I've experienced a bad leg and I could only put it first, if we step down a stairs with a bad leg we may just tumble down, I believe we should review this statement
i'm confused by 3point and swing through. I'm finding mixed information on these two. Some say that swing through is the typical crutch gait we think of, while others say it's 3point. Some sources say that swing through is for amputations, where other sources say swing through is not for amputations but instead for paralysis. When I listened to Mark Klimek's lectures he says that 3 point is for partial weight bearing and that swing through is for non-weight bearing and amputations. However, other sources like Hurst say that 3 point is for non-weight bearing and swing through is for weight bearing. I am confused and cannot find any sources that agree on what NCLEX will use. Do you have any info to help clarify 3point vs swing through?

it never made any sense to me as to why you'd descend stairs with the affected, injured leg first. i've had a bad leg before and had to use crutches while recovering. i would've tumbled down the stairs if i put my injured leg down first instead of going with my strong leg first and balancing myself.
I hate videos that try and explain things that could just be shown instead. How difficult is it to get crutches and show what you’re explaining? So pointless.
@@serenityblue4764 Really? I can do that? OMG, I did not know!! Thank you for taking your time to say this to me, lol. What, you're her cheerleader now? As a matter of fact, I did go to another channel. I went to Registered Nurse RN because she realized that showing how with crutches is a lot better than just explaining it. If I wanted to just read it, I would have stuck with my book, and not looked for a video.
This is a life saving video for me. I was struggling learning about this, thank you!
You're so welcome!
Me too. Thank you so much
GAS up (good, affected, sticks) SAG down (sticks, affected, good) taught to me by PT teacher at school!

Thank you so much!
Thos is so important for caregivers to understand as well. Maybe y'all could start local caregiver classes. Maybe we all should all over the country.

Is there a list of cards I can pull for these 64 videos?
The Practice and Skills section of our Fundamentals deck starts on card 42. This specific video covers information found on card 72-74

That is using one crutch for stairs. What about two crutches and stairs?
Good leg first going up and coming down

It’s a free video. Be happy she’s even explaining it.
@@nancyFLRN Of course u would take the time to say something stupid…
You could go to another channel, you are viewing free resources that people take their time to create you don’t have to be so rude.
