Often we subconsciously recognize the fitness benefits that come from fasting; an important reminder to be focused on the ways of God and not the ways of the world and to offer sacrifice and gratitude in all things. We literally tear ourselves apart when we are bored picking and scratching our flesh. "Just as air escapes the hand when we make a fist, the spirit rises in prayer when we fast." I forget who said that, it was either from the Letters of St Jerome, or it was St John of The Cross I think. In your last video review of 'Let Go' obedience was the hardest virtue to practice. I think fasting can become vanity when we obey ourselves, even making meal plans so we get anxious, it seems we are made to offer everything up. I always remember a little trick that NASA does before a rocket launch, at some point they count-down aloud so the astronauts can hear it, counting down in your head can launch you into action, the trick apparently is 5 4 3 2 1 Go...
I found a beach in Michigan where I can walk with my dog off leash. There is no one there, my dog has freedom to run and play, and my greatest conversations with Abba my Father (thus the Holy Trinity) and Blessed Mother have occurred there, as well as my conversations in front of the Blessed Sacrament.
The late Archbishop Fulton Sheen said, ":When we pray we travel to God in a bus. When we meditate we travel in the train. But when we contemplate, we travel to God in the jet".
every town and village with a Catholic church should have Latin Mass every Sunday; which I have discovered are mostly filled with large young families. The priests and bishops don't go out to save souls and keep us in a state of grace. In the modern mass I am told that ppl don't go to confession but still take communion in the hand and of course the priest knows this. Those who attend the Latin Mass told me they regularly go to confession. For me to go to confession it is a 90 min drive and also for the Latin Mass Costs over $7.oo per American gallon for diesel..........I have to fast to save

Thank you for the Ventasium channel. I’ll check it out. I think I know people who would prefer experiencing pain than being bored. They seem to prefer a crisis than peace. I grew up 30 miles from where Father Mark did. Spending time on a raft is nearly obvious in that area.
