Great fix. Lot's of puzzles to solve and a dangerous surprise found & repaired. Well done! Hope your kids still love the XJ6 for school runs given how your daughter loved the X-Type Estate!!!
Adam . As usual you always have a solution never a problem ! But that really was a close call ! Well done ! Rhe only thing thay causes me concern is ......my XJ6 had the same problem in 2008 and l'd already sold the car ! ......ooops !😆😆😆
Congratulations on tracking down the problem and accidentally preventing a conflagration, Further confirmation that the first places to look for any electrical or network problem is grounding, followed by cables.
This reminds me of the comically large number of fuses on my XJ40. There is a reason for that: There is much less chances of electrical fires when all wires are protected correctly.
I need some help on a 83 S3 xj6 I'm putting a racing gas tank in it and I need to no if the gas gauge sender wires come into the trunk area like the fuel lines . Car is sbc swapped
How often have we all had this happen, you start tracing a fault, and along the way something else crops up, if things work out you are actually successful, even though it can take forever to complete 🤔
Congrats on fixing a frustrating niggle and a worrying fault… the only downside is that your daughter doesn’t get to ride in the X-Type instead of the XJ6 !
Stubbornly persistent perhaps? You never let it defeat you. Another good job adam.
Nice repair. I'd go with determination !
Determined. Stubborn. Persistent.
Thorough. Detail oriented. Pride of workmanship.
It’s all in how you look at it.
Persistence is the right word.
Glad you found that issue with wiring when you did! All good, thanks for a cool video!

Awesome work! I just HATE electrical trouble shooting...drives me nuts even though the S1 has a fairly simple electrical system.
A important find Adam and another great fix still looks very cold over there stay warm all the best donny

No one is safe from the curse of Joseph Lucas.
Which alternative we have? Is there's aftermarket products?
This isn’t Lucas fault though but a previous owner fault. Don’t short out a main feed on a car with a metal tool
