yes I had problems. coming round to he standing end again is the tricky part, where to enter again So l got out a 20mm 3/4 inch mandrel and it worked out.
Hey there! The length of cord depends on the diameted of the mandrel you are tying the knot onto. For a mandrel about an inch in diameter you would probably use up 3, maybe 4 feet. Mark
@57 Mickey I agree. Wrap you cordage around yout tying location,3 times be it a mandreal or a stick or another rope and add one more wrap length. You should have plenty of working cord/rope.
The way that you have finished this knot or any other Turks heads is not quite right, the reason is that a diamond knot and a foot rope knot are both Turks heads but made with 2 or sometimes 4 strands and these two knots are the inverse of the other.so if you were to tie a Turks head from the bottom as per a foot rope knot and then invert it by rolling the top down over body of the knot you should end up with a diamond knot but this only works if you put your end through the middle of the Turks head.
John Hughes, I agree that the knot does look only half finished but the turk's head was transferred to a smaller mandrel and then when it is tightened up the knot can then be moved around to make it beautifully symmetrical.
Am I the only one slowing down the video? And why can I not tie this knot!? I’ve tried several times and I’m about furious now. I threw my Paracord in the corner in a huff...
Nice and straightforward. It's easier to do more elaborate knots when the basics are laid out like this.
Great stuff! Keep up these great tutorials!!!

I really enjoy growing my knowledge with Paracord guild, however...is there a chance this tutorial could be slowed down for numpties like me!? Thanks.
Hey!
Luckily, RUclips has a built in function that allows you to slow down the video!
@@Paracordguild Wow, that's magic! Thanks
How do you finish a turk's head so it doesn't come undone? If you are leaving it on something like a handle. Thanks!
Cut and burn the ends if it's paracord, or you can find a way to tuck them under themselves after burning.
This video is super.
What size if your mandrel? I must be using one that is too large because I don't get the same knot.

Dude . How much cord do I need? You never said how much cord was required. Is it 5 feet ?, 8 feet? How much?

The knot in the video looks half-finished compared to the example.

use a lighter to mushroom the ends and stick to the other rope.
