hello the gcse maths tutor, i switched from foundation to higher in year 11 and had mocks i got a u and was a mark of a 3, i was wondering if there is still time for me to get 6-7? if so how should i do it and how hard would i need to work, i got told to do as many as practice questions on a topic i struggle with until i master it would you recommend doing that? another set of mocks are coming so how do i do well in them? I also need helping structure a math timetable revision?
good luck! I believe you can do it! he’s done full paper videos as well as videos that split up the topics required fo each grade. maybe make a checklist/spreadsheet of the topics you don’t understand - it is intimidating but that also makes it kinda motivating!!
@@juventusfan4873 i think with a lot of hard work and devotion you probably can, it might take a lot of effort but tbh I'm kinda similar. PAST PAPERS!! really useful, as well as this youtube channel, and asking people for help on youtube or reddit or whatever could help too as it's real people explaining it. with maths it's all about practice so once you get used to the questions that pop up continuously on papers then it'll help you probably pass at least. i hope u do well :)
first of all, check your board specification and print it out. then go to maths genie's website and do all the topics (according to your exam board) from grade 1 to grade 9. however I didn't understand some of his explanations, so I would use this channel (it's up to you which channel you use). the way topics are laid out on maths genie's website (grade 1 to grade 9) helps you track your progress. he also has questions on each topic. I'd suggest doing them *only* for your weak topics. take a month and complete all of that. also, check out the grade 9 playlist of the GCSE maths tutor, that is helpful too! then, do full length past papers, do as many as you can and that should be it! good luck :)

I've got a mock maths exam tomorrow and I think I'm going to fail. This mock exam is important as it determines my tier of entry so I want to do higher however I struggle with things even though I practice. Idk tbh I’m unsure. I just wanted to ask if they’re correct in what they’re saying before I attempt the video. Is there another video or updated video for this topic? @@ellasorchid I would always start with this video: ruclips.net/video/8A3crqKb13I/видео.html skim through it using the chapters and see which topics you don’t know, they are all linked in the description if you need to have a further look. If you are fine with that whole video then use the grade 6-9 version after that! If you have a mock tomorrow though will have to pick one or the other and I’d start with the first one, it’s easier to pick up marks in the first half of the paper than the second half! Hope that helps 😁🙏🏼

@@ellasorchid You can do them without drawing the tree if you can visualise the journeys in your head! Then you just do the fraction or decimal calculations for each “route”! I’m not sure I’d advise it but it can be done!! Either way let me know 😁🙏🏼

i have a mock tomorrow, i'm doing higher edexcel. kinda panicky with time and not sure where to start - what would u recommend? I've spent the last half an hour skiving through topics but not really sure if they'll help me. do you have some videos on the basics, or topics that frequently come up, if yes please could you point me in the right direction? thank you!!
@@ellasorchid I would always start with this video: ruclips.net/video/8A3crqKb13I/видео.html skim through it using the chapters and see which topics you don’t know, they are all linked in the description if you need to have a further look. If you are fine with that whole video then use the grade 6-9 version after that! If you have a mock tomorrow though will have to pick one or the other and I’d start with the first one, it’s easier to pick up marks in the first half of the paper than the second half! @@TheGCSEMathsTutor thanks so much! sorry to bother again, random q, but is there a quicker way to do probability without doing the probability trees? i can do them, it is just a really long process and it feels like there's a quicker way but I'm not sure if there is... thank you SO much! if i remember ill try and keep you updated on how it went, if it's too traumatising ill keep it to myself lol
@@ellasorchid You can do them without drawing the tree if you can visualise the journeys in your head! Then you just do the fraction or decimal calculations for each “route”! I’m not sure I’d advise it but it can be done!! Either way let me know 😁🙏🏼
