Yana, I love this copic color chart. I love that I am able to go back to great videos like yours. Thanks for sharing this very helpful color combination chart that will be a very useful addition to my craft studio. I have about 20 copics, so I struggle with finding color combinations using what I have. I hope to eventually build my Copic colors, but on a very tight budget. So your color combo chart will really help with my designs of what colors to buy. I love all your videos .Thank you again for taking the time to film and share this. Love and hugs!
I went a bit extreme & made a color combo book. It has sheets for skin tones, hair colors, animals, flowers, etc. Fun to do (great excuse to color) & helpful. Thanks for the video & have a great day. :o)
Awesome idea and yes...going to create a blending chart right away! First thing: to see if I have any of your combos and go from there! Thank you soooo much for your inspiration!
THANK YOU, YANA!!! I have had to collect my copic markers over time, and now I can do a blending chart like this! Thank you for your thoughtful inspiration!!🙌🏽💕
Your video is very timely. I've been thinking about creating a Copic color combination chart. One thing I was thinking about was stamping different shapes (those that I commonly stamp). For example, I'd use a flower stamp for various color combinations used in coloring flowers, a Leaf Stamp for Green color combinations. A "face" stamp for skin and hair color combinations, etc. It would take longer to color, but I think it would reduce the decision making process when I went to color something. I will definitely check out your color combinations. Thank you!
Yana, Thank you so much for your wonderful videos. YOU are the reason I have started purchasing so much from Simon Says Stamp. On my Pinterest boards, I have a board titled "Papercrafting," and a Section within that board titled "Yana Smakula." The reason for this? You are my favorite papercrafting blogger. I love your style, your ideas, and most of all your methods of instruction. Your videos are so well done, and your photographs are excellent. I am new to Copic Markers, so I truly appreciate the time you have taken to help us out with your favorite combinations. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Wonderful video! A few years ago when I first started using Copics, I did something very similar. A fish stamp too! Stamped small pieces of cardstock and punched a hole in each one and put them on a ring. I attached the ring to a lazy Susan on my desk. Within reach, but doesn’t take up precious desk space.
WOW I love your idea for a color combo chart!! I have the Hex Chart and it didn't help me. This is SO helpful. Thank you so much for helping us with your color combo idea, I don't struggle picking color options. I really like using my copics now, with your help. I love your blog and videos. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for taking the time to do this. One of my problems that takes me so long to color with copics is picking out my colors, even though I have a complete chart of the colors that I have. I am so thrilled you shared this with us. I enjoy all your videos and think you are so talented. Again, thanks so much. Will be looking for your next video! Have a wonderful day!
This is a great tip!!! I have the Copic and Hex charts and still struggle with color combos. I will be giving this idea a try! It will be so helpful to me. Thanks for sharing 😊💜
Thank you for your video showing how to make your chart and how you color it in. Thank you also for posting your favorite color combos on a separate area. I LOVE your coloring and will be copying/comparing your supply of Copics to mine. Thanks again!
I've had charts for years but I've been thinking of redoing them because they became a bit unwieldy. I should've used a simpler stamp like this one. Thanks for sharing!
I love your Copic coloring! This info is very helpful. I especially appreciate your sound advice to use what I have! I actually have a lot of Copic colors, but I have never organized them into Favorite Combos. What a fun project to make my own chart. Thanks, Yana!
Thank you Yana for sharing this. I have been compiling a list of other peoples Copic colour combos for quite a while but I haven't charted them yet, as you have done here. This is going to be my next step in organizing them so that it will finally make sense. Thanks again for sharing this helpful information.
Thank you so so much!! This list of yours will be so helpful. I am always very curious about the combos people use. Thanks again. It was very kind of you to share. Love your videos.
Thank you for this video! I'm new to copics, I have about 60 of them which I have yet to use because I don't know any color combos. I've just been buying pretty colors so this is a perfect place for me to begin. Thanks again!
These color combos might sound weird, BUT. If you want bold colors, I like this blue combo: b02+b04+b05. This one is a bit tricky, but B00+b04+b05. For a green, I like to use: YG06+G05+YG09. G05+YG09+G09. For red: R43+R35+R46. I lay down the colors in the order that I put them. They make very deep and rich colors, and are hard to perfect (especially the blues), but when you do, they look magnificent.
I do not use copic markers but the zig clean color real brush pens. These are also many different colors and I struggled with finding the right combos. If I found a good combo I make a small note but this chart is amazing. So easy but effective. I will use your idea to “work“ more effective! Thanks for showing!
Hi Yana! I only just purchased my first handful of copic markers after watching tons of videos featuring them. I haven't used them yet, but creating a swatch chart, like you've done, to see what works for me is a great jumping off point, so...thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!
I am literally just starting. I own all the spectrum Noir markers and I love them. But again I’m so new at this I just Signed up for kit and clowder class but have yet To begin. I just ordered 6 Coptic markers. And I have No Clue what goes with what. So no doubt they won’t work together. I’d Like to purchase maybe like 10 A month and build my collection and I’m anxious to see what all the hype is about. Lol thank u Yana! I did have some good advice to start by Purchasing a collection of greys. So I’ll see how that goes. Have a great week!! As Always I adore watching u!
Thank you so much! This is a great idea! I always mess up a few stamped images by experimenting and testing. This would avoid a lot of frustration! I guess i know what I’m doing this weekend! Have a great day!
I’m stunned at how amazing your English is. I live in NYC for 10 years and my English still need improvements. Can you please recommend all the skin tone Copic colors ? Thank you.
I was a foreign exchange student in the USA when I was 15, that helped a lot with the accent. As for skin colors, I use E000, E00 and E02 for light colors. Sorry I don't have a go-to color for darker skin.
That is a great idea. I don't have Copics (I can't afford them) but I do have a whole bunch of other brands of colours that I use to the same effect. I have a massive chart of all my colours, but this would be helpful when I want to blend. The only hassle is I have to list the brand and the number, but that just means I'll have more space on my chart I guess. Anyway, thanks for sharing this. I'm going to have to have a play with my markers and see what I can come up with. Have a great day.
After trying other alcohol markers and later trying copics I understood why they are worth the investment. Thanks for this video so helpful I'm just starting my collection.
very helpful Yana, thanks. Love your work. By the way you showed an older sample with a circl of words, funny birds, palm tree and coconut drink. what is the name of that video. i love ❤️ it. thx again.
This is such a fabulous idea!!!! I don’t have many Copics, but I am going to build up my small(42 markers for now) and I will certainly do this! I think I will do this with my pencils too!😱
WOW this is a fantastic idea!! Thank u so much! I have a wee note book that I write in to try to remember, the key word is remember lol but I’m on a mission to make one of these now! Total game changer! Thanks again so much for always being so generous with your ideas! U rock!
Boy do I love this!!! I will be making one of these charts so I don't have to figure out what colors I need to achieve my desire. Thank you Ayana, such a terrific idea🐠🐟
What a great idea 💕 I have the hex chart and then I made myself a chart where I just put down the colors and write the number of the markers I used. However, your idea of using a stamped image to do this on is much prettier, I’m going to have to do it this way! Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks so much for this! I am going back to Copics after trying another company, the new markers are horrible and I wish I'd never gotten rid of my Copics! I learned my lesson, there just is not anything as good as Copic!!!
Yana I am a new comer to copic markers and to your videos. This color chart is great. Do you have a download for your blank fish chart. Sure would be nice. 😁 thanks
Thank you, Margaret. Sorry, I don't have a download, the fish image is from a Stamp by Simon Says Stamp, so I can't make it into a download. Look through your stash for a similar image to stamp your own chart ;)
Thank you! I love seeing your color combinations and those of other people, it gives me the courage to try my own combinations. I think I'll work on my own chart one of these days -- it might not be as organized as yours right away. :)
I dig your chart!! Such a great idea. I also wanted you to know that recently i watched one of your videos where you were coloring with Copics and you were using some copics in the purple family. I DO NOT LIKE PURPLE in any shade, but your coloring was so lovely that yesterday while in town i stopped at Hobby Lobby and purchased the 4 colors you had on the video and one extra that I didn't have and just loved the color and had to have it. When I got to the checkout and it was time to pay, my inside voice was screaming at me ARE YOUR CRAZY $40 on 5 markers lol ---- groceries are overrated hahah! Thanks for all you do Yana
Thanks so much for sharing your tips and Copic chart with us, Yana! Sometimes I use my Hex chart, but I think your idea will be very helpful :) Question: Which stamp set did you use for the fish...he's perfect?
Fantastic idea. I am waiting to buy Copic Markers. Just short on funds at thhe moment! Will you be posting a video on the first colors to pick. I don't know where to start. Thanks Yana
Because I was considering an investment in Copics a year or so ago I took advantage of the chart you shared on your blog as a place to start Yana. I appreciate that you’ve shared your experiences with Copics and what colors look nice together. Have a wonderful weekend. ~HUGS~ #kindnessmatters
Thank you so much for this video. After purchasing a lot of markers I feel that there a too many markers that are too close to each other and therefor a waste of money to buy.
misstorina3 I recently watched a video or learned it from a Copic FB group where they mentioned to buy the colors in the same family value but 2-3 colors in # apart. The DickBlick site shows “color trio” sets. We’ve never used them so I did a lot of research so I wouldn’t buy unnecessary markers. Everyone said not to get the big sets because they don’t blend. The good news is no matter whether you buy them in sets or singles, the price of the marker on that site is exactly the same so it was easy to get exactly what you want. The skin tones set & Sky & Sea (he loves coloring in ocean scenes) are a little bit cheaper on Amazon.
Go to Sandy Allnock’s channel & check out her Copic Hex Chart. She’s arranged all the markers by color tone. Super helpful when buying/using the markers. (Just a suggestion 😊)
I wished id have found this video before purchasing another brand. This is a great tutorial thank you for sharing and taking the time to make video to help us👍☺️🇬🇧
Great video Yana, I have a chart where I have a square of each colour of the marker but not colour combos; that is definitely where I need to go next thank you for this suggestion. I certainly will be creating some sort of chart to document the colour combos I use. :O)
i can't believe it never occurred to me to make a chart… thanks yana, you always make wonderful videos! i'll see if i can post a chart with my promarkers
Yana, LOVE, LOVE, your idea of making is clever chart.
Thanks for making the chart!

You should share it or put it for sale I'd buy something like that
What a great idea. I bought 100 markers at a Scrapbook Expo, and I need a tool like this. Thanks!
Awesome idea and yes...going to create a blending chart right away! First thing: to see if I have any of your combos and go from there! Thank you soooo much for your inspiration!

That nice, how are you doing?

I've had charts for years but I've been thinking of redoing them because they became a bit unwieldy. I should've used a simpler stamp like this one. Thanks for sharing!
Is this still your recommended Copics list for newbies? Thanks.
Yep! I still use this sheet every time I color with copics 🤩
Thanks for showing your favorite Copic color combinations- I'm trying to learning how to use them
That's a good idea. I don't have a color combo chart myself. I do have the the copic color chart and A hex chart. I think I'll try this too. Thanks
I am going to to this. A wonderful idea. Thank you. I learn from you each time I watch a video.
This is a great idea! I'm going to try to make a chart like this soon.
Praying for you!
Great idea! I am going to try this, it always takes me so much time to figure out which colors I want to use.
Just found your channel. I am so excited because your style is so polished and clean. I am in love. Thank you.

Great combos swatch sheets suggestions for both kraft and white card stock. TFS! 😘🍁👍🏾
After trying other alcohol markers and later trying copics I understood why they are worth the investment. Thanks for this video so helpful I'm just starting my collection.
I don't have a combination chart but boy does it look like a great idea! TY for the demo and the concept.
I really need to do this. This chart will definitely save time. Thanks for the inspiration and video, Yana!

I can’t thank you enough, Yana. I have needed this information and your chart idea is fantastic. Great video!
Great idea! I was just struggling yesterday to find a previous red combo that blended well, so this would definitely be helpful. Thanks Yana!
WOW this is a fantastic idea!! Thank u so much! I have a wee note book that I write in to try to remember, the key word is remember lol but I’m on a mission to make one of these now! Total game changer! Thanks again so much for always being so generous with your ideas! U rock!

Definitely going to make a chart. Great idea!
Thanks for sharing! I’m just starting out with Copics and I’ve made a chart similar to this. Ive also scoured the Internet for combos.
Smile, how Are you doing?
Great chart. I don’t use comics but I will do a similar chart to use with my water based markers. Thank you for sharing.
Perfect timing, I just bought my first two copic markers this weekend and had referred to your blog post :)
What a fantastic idea, Yana! Thanks for sharing this with us.
Same here, how are you doing?
What a fabulous idea and will save time wondering what to use, thanks for sharing
I love this swatch sheet. What a cute idea.
A really great chart idea! I definitely want to make one 😁
Boy do I love this!!! I will be making one of these charts so I don't have to figure out what colors I need to achieve my desire. Thank you Ayana, such a terrific idea🐠🐟

Thank you for showing your favorite combinations. I definitely would like to make a chart when I can find the time... I think it is an awesome idea!
This is great! Thanks so much for posting this as it is very helpful. I do plan on making a chart as soon as I can in the future.
Wonderful idea. I will be making this chart because I do need it. Thanks.
Thank you Yana! I am “Copic challenged” and this chart will be extremely helpful for me.
Just found your channel and am binge watching. Thank you so very much for sharing with us
This came at the perfect moment I'm wanting to invest in some copics, currently only use colored pencils. Thank you!
Very good idea. I'm going to do this. Thank you.
That's a great idea , something I will definitely do. Thank you
This is so helpful, thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks so much for this! I am going back to Copics after trying another company, the new markers are horrible and I wish I'd never gotten rid of my Copics! I learned my lesson, there just is not anything as good as Copic!!!
What a great idea thank you for sharing! I want to make one of these. Such a Time Saver. Thanks again.
Great video! I need to create a chart because I can never remember what goes with what.
yep. that was pretty much me. Now I just use my cheat-sheet aka this chart :)
I would love to get into coloring with Copic markers but I do not know anything about them. This video will help tremendously!!! tfs ; )
Thank you! I love seeing your color combinations and those of other people, it gives me the courage to try my own combinations. I think I'll work on my own chart one of these days -- it might not be as organized as yours right away. :)
Smile, how Are you doing Mary?
I dig your chart!! Such a great idea. I also wanted you to know that recently i watched one of your videos where you were coloring with Copics and you were using some copics in the purple family. Awww, thank you, Janice! Glad you gave purples a try 😊
Fantastic idea for a blending chart.
Thank you for the super idea. I don't have any Copics but I'd like to get some so your ideas for getting started are much appreciated. Jeannine H
Thanks so much for sharing your tips and Copic chart with us, Yana! Sometimes I use my Hex chart, but I think your idea will be very helpful :)
Question: Which stamp set did you use for the fish...he's perfect?
As always, such great and useful information! Thank you!
I have only 36 pcs copic markers, and I am happy with them, but I need to buy some secondary colors :)
Fantastic idea! I love that it is useful AND fun to look at and make - using that cute fish stamp.
Fantastic idea. I am waiting to buy Copic Markers. Just short on funds at thhe moment! Will you be posting a video on the first colors to pick. I don't know where to start. Thanks Yana
Wrong name on my post. I am Donna Walker
Because I was considering an investment in Copics a year or so ago I took advantage of the chart you shared on your blog as a place to start Yana. I appreciate that you’ve shared your experiences with Copics and what colors look nice together. Have a wonderful weekend. ~HUGS~

I wished id have found this video before purchasing another brand. This is a great tutorial thank you for sharing and taking the time to make video to help us👍☺️🇬🇧
What an awesome idea! I must to do this soon, as I struggle to decide what to use with what! Like the fishes! You are a genius!💜🤗
