The master chef is back at it again the Food Wars kitchen in Season 1 Episode 2 of the show! This amazing furikake rice with gelatinized cubes of flavor is a great recipe to amaze and delight your friends with, or just enjoy on your own :D
Ingredients:
2 tbsp. sesame oil.
8 Unbreaded chicken wings, uncooked
2 tsp. bonito soup stock
5 cups of water
2 teaspoon of minced ginger
1 Tbsp. sugar
3 Tbsp. of soy sauce
1/4 cup sake
2 Tbsp. gelatin
1 cup white rice
2 green onions
4 eggs
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Add sesame oil to a pan and heat to medium. Fry the chicken wings for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Save the chicken residue in the pan.
2. Add water and soup stock to a pot and heat to a boil. Add the chicken and turn the broth down to medium low.
3. Add the ginger, soy sauce, sake, and sugar to the chicken pan. Stir all of these ingredients with a wooden spoon.
4. Pour everything from the pan into the Broth. Simmer on medium-low for 20 minutes.
5. Take the broth off the heat and let it sit for a few minutes. If there is a layer of fat on the top, take it off. Take the chicken wings out and set aside.
6. Add the gelatine to 1/2 of water and let bloom for 5 minutes. Mix the gelatine into the water until fully dissolved. Add the gelatine mix to the broth mix.
7. Grease a tray with butter. Add the broth. Cover with cling wrap, put in the fridge and and let solidify for 2 hours.
8. Separate the chicken from the bone and skin. Add the chicken to the rice, unless you want the recipe to be exactly like in Food Wars.
9. Take the gelatin broth out of the fridge and Cut small cubes of broth gelatin.
10. Scramble eggs. Add eggs and chopped green onions to rice. Add the aspic (meat broth jelly). Watch the cubes melt and enjoy.

@@kittenmimi5326 he didnt actually need to add the gelatin, since the chicken broth would harden by itself if you put it into the fridge: basically they have their own natural gelatin so I think he over killed it by adding more
@@Mari-kl5oc that only happens when you cook it for a few hours. He simmered the wings in just 20 minutes so there wasn't enough time for the water to extract collagen from the wings

Like you’ll start having constant cravings for rice or wheat based products, and when you eventually do eat it, you’ll understand why our ancestors tried it and decided to cultivate it for the next thousands of years.

Time to act out one of my favorite episodes of Food Wars to blow away my picky cousin.
How did it go
you gotta do it like the episode though: "Hey, just stand there and watch me make this awesome dish!" .....4 hours later
Update: Did this for my cousin who took the longest shower in the bathroom while I made the dish. I was excited to make her taste it and the reaction I got was "Hey, that's pretty good."
She continued to eat it until it was finished and had a lot of leftovers.
I decided to take a nap after cooking because it was surprisingly tiresome and I found all the leftovers gone and an asleep cousin.
Nice experiment. Will do again. 10/10

When she said "Rice doesn't have a flavor!" The first thing that popped into my mind was "EXACTLY!!! THATS WHY ITS SO DAMN GOOD!"
I can't believe in a 11 minute video you spent a minute and a half on cooking and the next 10 minutes on just reacting to it.
Even Food Wars spent more time on cooking than that.
Its more like 2 minutes making and eating 3 minutes on reaction 3 minutes on rice burners and 3 minutes on gradpa. They need themselves some add meds. I need them too.
tbh i think it's great that they gave the viewers the freedom to leave immediately if all they were looking for was simply a re-enactment of the recipe

I grew up eating Western food, but then lived in Asia for a couple years and yes, I ate rice almost daily and loved it. Now I'm back home and cook rice dishes more often than western food.

@@tonicaulfield294 actually nah, pinoys take it up a notch due to poverty, sometimes when they can only afford rice they just pair it with salt and cooking oil. And no they dont fry it. They just put cooking oil and salt to the rice. To make it seem like they topped it with a proper dish with slight salty grease, and sometimes they use cooking oil and a bit of cheap soysauce. I mean they'd rather eat rice paired with cheap condiments, than eat instant noodles, which is btw.. much cheaper and tastier. That's how much of a ricefreak they are.

Can I just say I love the fact that you cut right to the chase with making the dish. You finished the dish and the video wasn’t even halfway done. So many RUclips channels title their video with it’s main purpose and fill it with so much unnecessary filler before finally getting to the point toward the end of the video.

Our breakfast is full of rice... if we eat eggs, we pair it with rice. Bacon, canned goods, chicken, leftovers from Sunday... we pair all our meals with rice. Heck, most if not all our snacks are made of rice itself! And if not made of rice, it is made to compliment rice!

Would it be more good if the gelatin came first because it will mix with the rice.(just an opinion)
I think it will get there eventually, but something that was mentioned in the show is how the broth coats the egg. Personally I would mix the cubes and egg together the way Soma did so it spreads more evenly.
In Bubba’s voice: “You can make all sorts of rice. White rice, brown rice, sweet rice, black rice, jasmine rice, sticky rice, sushi rice, yellow rice, wild rice...”

That's 1000000% correct. I don't understand people who just eat plain white rice with nothing else. Not even any salt. The purpose of rice (and tofu and a lot of noodles) is to deliver flavor. Eating it plain is like, what? Why?
