The scene that really got me was the "Karen" mom pushing for her son to get in his school's accelerated program when the poor kid couldn't even pronounce the word accelerated. Frank giving her a well-deserved dressing-down was awesome.
It really makes me feel bad for teachers as a job. An ex-gf who wanted to be a teacher used to confess to me about how unsure of her in pursuing teacher as a career. Watching this movie makes me think.
They should ALL be ashamed. This once, Jackman used his powers for Good, but he delivered the same withering speech to save his own evil skin by using his office to dig up dirt on everyone.
Such a great film. Definitely Huge ActMan's best performance. I really liked the dichotomy between the good and the bad they are doing. And him giving Pam the boot in such a two faced way and then having the same done to him. Priceless. Geraldine Vinswanathan is going to do great things I think. She has been good in both this and Blockers. Allison Janney is always great. Kudos to getting the directors to speak to you. That really ups the value of the content!
@@nx9919 they probably think Allison in a blond wig looks like toni in a blond wig and I can see it if your not very familiar with either actress toni is a shape shifter so
I seriously thought this was going to be for the Gael Garcia Bernal film. I never heard of this film so I stopped watching the review, watched the film on HBO and LOVED it. Let Me Explain keeps on recommending films and shows I never heard of and end of really liking. Great channel.
Disappointed Jackman didn't go all-in on the Long Island accent. I mean, the real guy sure had one! Allison Janney (Pam) did a great job with the accent
They could run a small theatrical run but likely the academy will modify rules for the year unless they want the Oscars to consist of things before March/April
@@Thedisastermaster9 So, it currently states that it had it had to have a *planned* theatrical run before going to streaming. For films that didn't have an official release date they will evaluate on a case by case basis. Therefore as it currently stands, HBO can't even do a two week qualifying run in theatres after the fact. Very silly, and the Academy should change the rules.
While I think Hugh Jackman and Allison Janney’s performances were stellar, I feel like the performances from Geraldine Viswanathan and Annaleigh Ashford were great and vastly underrated. Viswanathan had to share scenes with Jackman and Janney and was able to hold her own, despite Rachel being written as a student afraid to stand up to her superiors. And Ashford proved again she can take a small part and make a great performance out of it
felice makowsky yeah I just assumed they’d be up for oscars since oscar is letting online movies run the race.. but how I know this aired on the hbo channel as well
Great film. Definitely check out “Thoroughbreds” from the same director, and starring Olivia Cooke, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Anton Yelchin. A fucked up thriller for sure (don’t watch the previews!)
i want to watch this movie because the school scenes were filmed in my town on long island and i remember when some students were bragging about how they got the chance to see the filming
Please please please watch Normal People on Hulu! It is the best show I've seen in a while it really makes you feel exactly what the characters were feeling!
So my middle school principal was arrested on campus for stealing money funded for the school. Downside the school was horrible (lots of violence and lack of supplies) so in the end no one felt bad for her lol.
I never cared about teachers protesting their unfair wage, but this movie does makes me think. Like they often say, the grunt got shit paid to do jobs of some super human’s
Hi! Since you were doing Spanish language series already, can you check out a show called Desenfrenadas (Unstoppable)? It’s on Netflix and it’s awesome 💛
I disagree that they (teachers) are watching our kids - parents who think the teachers were so important, but only once covid hit, they are clearly forgetting their own schooling. It is shameful the turnover rates and zero tolerance and severe punishments that are constantly decided for children. It’s unacceptable the lack of critical thinking from those citizens who think they are worthy of teaching a strangers child. There is no view from where I stand, 4 kids later that can explain the constant struggle to find respectful and highly educated teachers with no bigotry. No one stands out as it is not self evident. The majority of teachers may have received degrees but they revived those degrees in career fields that do not match were they. End up teaching. Teachers are the students who conformed the best. They conformed to an already failing educational system. Does it matter that the same majority of teachers holds gender biases, bigotry and racism close to their chest and without parents ever knowing? I disagree that colleges are training teachers to do more than create a classroom agendas and xerox worksheets. There is little to no teaching at the public schools, all across this nation - it’s rote learning only and testing for the test .
What's Hugh's best performance?
Besides happy feet of course
Logan
I'm kind of partial to Prisoners for the entire ensemble and the story. But I do think Hugh stands out in that film.
Either this movie or Logan
Let Me Explain “Prisoners”
That's insanely cool that you got the director to explain it to you personally.
The scene that really got me was the "Karen" mom pushing for her son to get in his school's accelerated program when the poor kid couldn't even pronounce the word accelerated. Frank giving her a well-deserved dressing-down was awesome.

Instantly thought of Bad education the British television series, top notch comedy
Me too lol
Same such a good comedy
Aha same

*"If the blame can squarely fall on one individual, then it clearly falls on the system."*
HELL YEAH.
CAnt!!! It’s can’t!!!
okay for a second i was expecting a review of Jack Whitehall’s Bad Education lmaoo
Same, I got excited 😋😂
Honestly same
Anyone else thought this was a version of Jack Whitehalls Bad Education??? Ik a few people did lol.
I did 😂
Griffin me
Hugh Jackman without a beard will forever be a cursed sight to me.
And that slack back hair
I like him with sideburns
Using Tekashi's hand with Laura Janey's face when she is snitching. GOLD!😂😂
Really glad Eric Forman is having success as a director.
It was a riot seeing him in “Black Kkklansman” playing the head of Colorado’s KKK. Glad to see Topher getting some new opportunities as a director
Man, between Mike Wazowski and Eric, this movie really pulled everyone in
Pause - think I'm going to go watch this first before I finish this video.
He could make himself look as ugly as possible, but I'd still be so flattered if Hugh Jackman played me in a movie about my life

That pension loophole at the end was icing on the cake! Lol
Also, i like that two Hereditary actors were in this movie too!!
Two actors from Hereditary?
It's just Alex Wolff though
@@nx9919 they probably think Allison in a blond wig looks like toni in a blond wig and I can see it if your not very familiar with either actress toni is a shape shifter so
Hugh Jackman: Rise of the Skywalk
BAD EDUCATION IS MY COMFORT FILM! I WAS SO SCARED TO WATCH THE VIDEO, BUT I'M SO GLAD YOU LOVED IT!
Did they really just steal the title to jack Whitehalls best comedy tv show
Jack Whitehall stole it from Pedro Almodóvar, dude.
@@DuncanUdaho67 no what u will find is pedro went to jack Whitehalls house late st night and stole his dream journal
the CEO of Activision, huh? Yeah, makes sense..
Brought back memories!
The Bar scene Stole the picture!
damn, the message from the director came across so clearly in the film without feeling forced, that some talent right there
*I watched it and it was a great movie, and yeah if Hugh wouldn't say to the girl to follow the story, nothing wouldn't had happen*
This is legit the best movie I have seen these year so far. Might be best of the year.
watched it last week..easily one the best movies of the year.
I watched it with my parents and knew the story behind it in real life so seeing their reactions to it was fun. Really enjoyed the film overall
Jimmy tatro really showing for the youtubers and getting in big movies and killing it
Jimmy tatro in the king of Staten Island surprised me too. Love that guy
The CEO of Activision oh yeah he definitely took lessons from there.

So cool that you got the director on call 👏🏽
Not many movie makes me feel conflicted like this one
That movie is freakin genius !!! They really pulled it off with that story 😊🖤
Do on my block season 3!
Sadly it’s still Oscar ineligible. Current rules are you needed to have had a planned theatrical release. Very silly.

Logan was a really good performance!
Hugh Jackman was great, potentially Oscar worthy performance (especially now).
Sadly, it’s still not eligible cause “they didn’t have a prior theater release scheduled”
this was shot at my old high school :)!!
90% of comments about Jack Whitehall’s Bad Education lol
Saying it's one of the best of the year doesnt feel like a complement lol
Funny enough, i left it really feeling for Frank.
I am glad I watch this when it was premiered
Welp...now we know what Hugh Jackman’s tether looks like
I wanna see that ceiling scene that didn't make the cut though...
You made it homie
PLEASE talk about defending jacob!❤️
Thought this was about the show but fire video bro
Can you do “Defending JACOB”?? ASAP!!!

You should do season 1 of AHS that’d be interesting
But like.... what about Jack Whitehall 😂
I'm from this area of long island! A lot of this was filmed around my home town :x
Hugh Jackman and Alison Janey better get nominated for an Oscar for this.
Emmy
felice makowsky yeah I just assumed they’d be up for oscars since oscar is letting online movies run the race.. but how I know this aired on the hbo channel as well
I heard about this but I didn't realize it was this good I'm gonna get on this

MrJagermeister oh that’s why I loved it
The director’s kinda cute. He has big eyes
i want to watch this movie because the school scenes were filmed in my town on long island and i remember when some students were bragging about how they got the chance to see the filming
Fantastic film🥳
Zach's cartoon is adorable
Great video 🙌
Fun fact: I went to the school, the skywalk is a fuckin eyesore
So did they think they deserved the money because they really cared about the kids?
I gotta look up this story and watch this TODAY.
There’s also Bad Education from Pedro Almodovar
Love this movie...... and really liked this in depth look in.
Please please please watch Normal People on Hulu! It is the best show I've seen in a while it really makes you feel exactly what the characters were feeling!

Hugh’s performance is jacked man
If I got paid that much I’d be damn good at my job too: The Movie.
I never cared about teachers protesting their unfair wage, but this movie does makes me think. Like they often say, the grunt got shit paid to do jobs of some super human’s
what a crazy watch, really i can't even believed it happened. even if something similar happened to where i finished high school haha
