This is by far the best how to video I've seen on DesignSpark!! Without it I would have never even downloaded the program. Please make more soon! Your great at explaining each and every step you take while doing them( Helps to learn it A TON!!!) Awesome video and looking forward to many more!

Very nice intro to DSM. I've been using it for almost a year and consider myself to be an advanced user. DesignSpark's push-pull direct modelling approach is incredibly fast and interactive. It really is a huge leap forward in productivity compared to traditional history based modelers.
It's not perfect though. It has limitations, some of which are intentional. The steps for creating the gussets are an example. In SpaceClaim (the parent of DSM), and most other MCAD packages you have a 3D mirror tool which would have allowed the creation of both gussets at once. That function has been intentionally stripped out of DesignSpark.
Another important tool present in SpaceClaim that has been stripped out of DSM is the blend/loft tool. I miss that one the most.
Also missing is a lettering tool, but a clumsy workaround is to create the lettering in SketchUp 2014 and then import it.
Most of the other differences between SpaceClaim and DesignSpark are not of interest to people creating parts for 3D printing.
It's kind of a shame that DSM doesn't get more recognition in the 3D printing community. For rapid free-form 3D modeling, it is absolutely unmatched by any other free offering. It even surpasses many of the high-dollar packages in that regard.
I would encourage you to make more videos on DSM if you have time. You did a great job on this one and there are obviously a ton of other tools and techniques that can be covered.

I'll echo Blake Libby's Comment. This is the best tutorial on DesignSpark that I have seen. I came here looking for the rest of your DesignSpark videos and found none. Are you going to show us a little more soon?

Great tutorial. Many thanks. Quick question - I use a trackball mouse and have searched all over to figure out how to spin around the object with the trackball. I can click the "Spin" command, but would like to just use the trackball. I've also gone into the settings for the Logitech mouse but can't set it up to spin. Are there keystrokes to rotate the object around?
