  • We pulled two old aircraft out of the scrap heap, found any semi-functional electronics we could find, and decided to do a head-to-head crash test comparison of balsa vs. foam RC models. And to capture every gory detail, we shot the entire video in 10,000 FPS super slow motion.
We are having a blast with our slow-motion setup, so expect to see other shenanigans in the near future. And remember to visit www.motionrc.com or www.motionrc.eu for all the best RC products.

You guys are a trip. Nice to see someone approaching fun in this hobby from another direction. Feel bad for the airplanes but at least the video lives on.

A good reminder of how dangerous an RC plane can be. When flying, keep it away from the croud.

may be a USPS delivery video in slow motion could be more catastrophic

Sorry guys, your reasoning just doesn't cut it.
Time to own it and make it right. 2 flyable planes could have done so much more for the hobby and Motion.
There are a ton of people out there who have repaired and are still flying planes.
These 2 could have been used to introduce a group from the Boy Scouts or similar to the hobby with buddy box.
I dont think I'm alone here and expected much better from Motion and especially both of you. I think you need to make this right somehow. As you no doubt read in the original post , a lot of Motion RC customers
    have questioned this choice.
Im not sure how you can unsee this, but doing a budy box day with a group like the Boy Scouts etc would go a long way to gaining some respect back.

What would be valuable content would be an episode or series of episodes on repairing airplanes after a crash.

The one that your transmitter will connect to (same protocol). Also look at the plane description and it will tell you how many channels you need.

I think you guys should reach out to the slowmo guys and see what type of destruction happen when an rc plane or planes do when they hit people going as fat as theu can using electric and petrol rc

I would love to get one of those gel bodies that you see mythbusters and others use to shoot bullets with or hit with swords etc. Those always look cool in slow motion. But yeah, the cameras the slow motion guys use are in the 6 figures. Would be great to work with them.

@@MotionRCI have better idea - If You are so destructive freaks why don't You use your own face to check what is gonna happen when You fly in it on a full speed with one of that prop spinning planes;-) That would be even more interesting to see and will give you defo more views from day one;-)

This was awesome to see. I think its something we all wonder about but never do. We actually thought about doing this with a really fast plane like a V900 or something. We elected not to after some thought. Not knocking what you guys did or saying we were right not to necessarily, but the main reason we didn't was that at the time all the FAA remote ID stuff was a newer subject and it was an even more polarizing subject than it is now (still is now). Our concern was that the FAA or detractors to our hobby could use the footage to emphasize how "dangerous" the planes can be if they hit something...like a general aviation plane for instance. Something to consider unfortunately so we elected not to do it. It is a shame we have to consider this. What we do shouldn't even be in the conversation much less the regulations.

Welcome to the ARF flyers...just order a new one..try building for a change...that's what the hobby is supposed to be. But to each their own.

    • @Discopuss
      @Discopuss 8 месяцев назад +1

You haven't the faintest idea "what the hobby is supposed to be" for anyone but yourself. What a foolish thing to say. Open your mind, there are more possibilities than you can imagine. Not everyone does it "your" way, or even wants to.

You’re saying this to a company that sells these, while one of the two planes was hand built. You’re hurting your argument.

With all due respect, James and Wes, are you saying you did this because you always wanted to see RC models crash in slow motion?! I understand that if anyone wants to destroy their own planes and record them in slow motion it is their decision and they are free to do so but I don't think it would be a good idea to do it for a proudly veteran owned company like Motion RC. It seems to me that the message is wrong and I think many agree with this. If you are going to continue destroying planes for pleasure, I would like to know what Alpha and Wes’ dad think about this.
