*🔸. जब 1965 में पाकिस्तान से युद्ध हुआ तो वे भारतीय सेना का मनोबल इतना बढ़ा दिये थे कि भारतीय सेना पाकिस्तानी सेना को गाजर - मूली की तरह काटती चली गयी थी और पाकिस्तान का बहुत बड़ा हिस्सा जीत लिया था।*
*🔸. जब भारत पाकिस्तान का युद्ध चल रहा था तो अमेरिका ने भारत पर दबाव बनाने के लिए कहा था कि भारत युद्ध खत्म कर दे नहीं तो अमेरिका भारत को गेहूँ देना बंद कर देगा, तो इसके जवाब में शास्त्री जी ने कहा था कि हम स्वाभिमान से भूखे रहना पसंद करेंगे, किसी के सामने भीख मांगने की जगह।*
*✊उन्होंने देशवासियों से निवेदन किये थे कि जब तक अनाज की व्यवस्था नहीं हो जाता, तब तक सब लोग सोमवार का व्रत रखना चालू कर दें और खाना कम खाया करें।*
*🔸. जब शास्त्री जी (उज्बेकिस्तान की राजधानी-) ताशकंद समझौते के लिए जा रहे थे तो उनकी पत्नी ने कहा था कि अब तो इस पुरानी फटी धोती की जगह नई धोती खरीद लीजिये, तो शास्त्री जी ने कहा इस देश मे अभी भी ऐसे बहुत से लोग हैं जो फटी हुई धोती पहनते हैं इसलिए मै अच्छे कपड़े कैसे पहन सकता हूँ? क्योंकि वे उन गरीबों के ही नेता थे अमीरों के नहीं। वे उनकी फटी पुरानी धोती को अपने हाथ से सिलकर ताशकंद समझौते के लिए गए।*
*🔸. जब पाकिस्तान से युद्ध चल रहा था तो शास्त्री जी ने देशवासियों से कहा कि युद्ध में बहुत रूपये खर्च हो सकता है। इसलिए सभी लोग अपने फालतू के खर्च कम कर दें और जितना हो सके सेना को धन राशि देकर सहयोग करें। खर्च कम करने वाली बात शास्त्री जी ने अपने खुद के दैनिक जीवन में भी उतारी।*
*🔸. शास्त्री जी दिखने में जरूर छोटे थे, पर वे सच में बहुत बहादुर और स्वाभिमानी थे।*
*🔸. जब शास्त्री जी की मृत्यु हुई तो कुछ नीच लोगों ने उन पर आरोप(इल्ज़ाम) लगाया की वे भ्रष्ट थे। पर जांच होने के बाद पता चला कि उनके बैंक खाते में मात्र 365/- रूपये थे। इससे पता चलता है कि शास्त्री जी कितने निष्ठावान् थे।*
*🔸. शास्त्री जी अभी तक के एक मात्र ऐसे प्रधान मंत्री रहे हैं जिन्होंने देश के बजट मे से 25 प्रतिशत सेना के ऊपर खर्च करने का फैसला लिया था। शास्त्री जी हमेशा कहते थे कि देश का जवान और किसान सबसे महत्वपूर्ण हैं। इसलिए इन्हे कोई भी तकलीफ नहीं होना चाहिए।*
शास्त्री जी ने *'जय जवान जय किसान'* का नारा दिया।
*🔸. चर्चा है कि जब शास्त्री जी ताशकंद(उज्बेकिस्तान की राजधानी) गए थे तो उन्हें जहर देकर मार दिया गया था और देश मे झूठी खबर फैला दी गयी थी की शास्त्री जी की मृत्यु दिल का दौरा पड़ने से हुई और आज तक इस बात पर से पर्दा नहीं हटा है।*
*🔸. शास्त्री जी जातिवाद के खिलाफ थे, इसलिए उन्होने अपने नाम के आगे श्रीवास्तव लिखना बंद कर दिया था।*
