Great job OnePlus with a refresh instead of a new device, I think a 2 year upgrade for foldable is the way to go.

@worthless_opinion your getting the 1 tb storage for 1500 bucks with a upgrade we would have basically got the latest snapdragon processor for around 2000 plus bucks to get the 1 gb of storage...Samsung is upgrading every year and the last 3 Galaxy folds are basically the same outside of the processor...my opinion it's a win

@@lucleoniAs is Honor Magic V3. It is identical to this phone from camera bump to the color and material. Probably has a few more features but basically a cheaper version of OP open. These companies all work together so not surprising.
It works on T-Mobile and Verizon with no issues

@@chrisw3447 I have T-Mobile and they are gsm. My issue was I ordered a phone before from swappa and the antenna signal bars lit up but the 5g wouldn't. So I could call but had to be on wifi to use Internet or receive picture messages. Come yo find out it wasn't supported fully stateside.🤷🏿
It works great on all carriers
Since US Mobile now offers all three carriers (AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile) this is a great device to be on that network; seamlessly switch to any of the three carriers when needed (using the Teleport feature from US Mobile).

Been with iPhone for the past 10 years but I alway had an android on hand as a back up. Just purchased this baby! Might wallet hurts but I think this is a great piece of innovative tech. I have four tablets that I can get rid of

I believe that they do have a stylus at least on the first version that they put out last year. It's from the same manufacturer that they are partnered with and you can get the stylist through them and it should work just fine.

It does support stylus but only the oppo pen once you pair them together it gets a firmware update
@@nickackermanchannel Why do you keep saying this. It has stylus support via the Oppo pen on both inside and outside screens.... Only thing missing is stylus built in but that would bulk up the phone. People who see your video will mistakenly think it has no stylus support at all bc you keep saying that in the video when it's not true.

However, it does seem to have stylus support in the settings at least but i'm unaware of any native stylus.

Nick excellent video but the AI features they are more overseas there's a restriction here in the US When that lifted we going to see all of them
Although the cameras are mid a best, i still prefer it over my fold 6, i needed a 1tb fold phone and that came out first.

If i was you guys speaking from experience on buying phones wait till black friday sales and it gives you time to do more research on newer phones about to release with specs that you didnt think can happen

@@TeCoEd of course. Any usb based keyboard or specifically ones made for tablets should work just like on any other device.
No SD card option and no wireless charging? What were your thoughts on the fingerprint reader and does adding a launcher prevent multitasking gestures since the dock would not be there?
@M.NiCE206 objectively internal expandable storage has become niche and not worth R&D for newer devices. Also incompetent customers ruined it for us by not taking the card out then complaining about performance drops. Tbh best buy has external ssds for mobile for the same cost and with the same if not better download and upload speed I truly have not nor do I know anyone who has missed the feature.

Just got a new galaxy fold 5 and love it. Glad other manufacturers have solid options.
Lol galaxy fold 5 is basically a 4 and slightly better than 3 trust I had them all, 6 same camera, now open is a whole new baby

I have Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in my Galaxy 24 Ultra and in my OnePlus Pad 2 as well, but I kinda wish both of them had the 8 Gen 2 like my previous OnePlus 11 as the performance boost is not adding any value (I'm not a heavy gamer, someone who is might notice), but the 8 Gen 2 had better power management and therefore better screen-on time and standby time. So having the 8 Gen 2 here still is sort of like a benefit, I'm seriously considering trading in my S24 Ultra sor this Apex edition Open...
i just did it 3 screen are better then a 10-30% non noticable difference in power

I've heard so many people say their customer service is terrible. I can't take that risk on any phone costing $1,500+, especially a Foldable.

I get where you're coming from both are incredible options! I prefer Samsung for ecosystem software and s pen. However for hardware and specs, this is where it's at! Let's see what Google brings next week!

The OnePlus Open is still superior to both the zFold6 and Google 9Pro Fold. The software always will catch up. The Ram expandable in settings to 28GB RAM. The cameras remain superior. The weight, the higher resolution screens, the battery, the charging, the inner screen crease, the fit and finish, the IR blaster, the dual screen stylus ability, The multitasking, the Dex substitute. Higher resolution screens. The upgradable ram in settings from 16MB to 28MB RAM!
The OnePlus Open remains better in every single way. Those that disagree, never had tried it. The fear mongers will not admit that the OnePlus Open has better reliability. They won't mention the endless zFold horror stories. The zFold6 rated at 200,000 folds because of its deeper crease. No other foldable has a better crease than OnePlus/Oppo. Their screen rated at ONe MILLION Folds..
One plus is really my fav the last 4 years ..great alround phone nice
Something you should add regarding trade in is that you still have to pay full price at checkout and wait 2 weeks for your trade in money, assuming they accept your phone or don’t try to scam you by saying it’s got something wrong with it, like all trade in companies do.
I tried to trade in my 13 PM for the Emerald version and the OnePlus website wouldn’t acknowledge the EMEI# of my phone so that was a no go, I’d like one but it seems 1+ aren’t about it.
Edit: If your cameras and microphones can be deactivated on device they can be reactivated off device and the risk is even bigger with Android devices.
No not true, I traded my fold 4 and got the 880 instant credit to buy the open back in June. Came out to like $700 when it was on sale for $1399

He does say it has 67 watt wireless charging 16:34 but every other review I've seen specifically states that it does not.

Is the apex the same specs as the base model?
Any idea if they've solved the overheating issue.. mine shuts down regularly due to overheating when multitasking too much or straight after charging

It does have s pen support and it works on the outside and inside screen its the oppo pen and don't say its not dedicated the oneplus open pretty much is a oppo phone

The phone launched in Finland, and the price is 2 thousand euros. It's 1,4k (minus at least 100 with trade in) in Ireland. So yeah I'll be skipping this one.
BBK electronics (parent company of oppo and oneplus) is re releasing oppo find n3 (1.5 yr old chip) as oneplus open apex edition by adding 450 pounds to the price. It is a scam.

In Canada this phone is going for $2600.00 amd even with the trade in a code its still going to cost over $2000.00. The price of these cell phones in Canada are like the rent here in Vancouver and many other cities in Canada.... RIDICULOUS. For $2600 (plus taxes), so almost $3000, i can buy a decent car or help 200 of those pets that Sarah McLachlan used to sing about. PRICES ARE GETTING CARRIED AWAY.

How perfect was this if you opened this Fold and you got one display you could customize like it was one display instead of two outside screens mirrored next to each other on the inside. It really rubs me in all the wrong ways all the manufacturers (except Samsung) doesn't have such a simple feature. If they fix this Samsung wouldn't have anything to say. But as long they have a seperate outside and inside screen they have the best software.
I have the Fold 5. My big screen has a completely different layout than the outside screen. A lot of widgets work much better on the outside screen and vice versa. So some things I just want on the outside screen en some things I just want to have on the inside. I'm just baffled why just one manufacturer (Samsung) understands this.
