I just left Richmond and moved back to California. I miss Richmond.
So many happy 😊 memories of Richmond. Going ice skating at the ice rink, going over the bridge to a coffee shop where we always got ours from, ⛵ on the Thames, walking along next to the river , sitting on the hill of Richmond hill, park. Thank you for doing a video about Richmond. Lots of history I didn't know. Where you went showed some beautiful 😍 shops. There looked like some nice cafes too!!! Nice to reminisce.
Sounds wonderful, Lesley. I lived in london in the late 80's, and never heard of this place.
Love it Lesley, taking you back. It is so lovely there 👍🎊
I was on my "OE" 1966-1968 and lived on Richond Hill for part of that time. Richmond was my go to place for shopping. Happy Days! Wonderful memories.
Yet another atmospheric, gently magical area I had never heard of. Lovely tour and choice , Steve. Brewers Lane really dynamite, intriguing. I would think an area like this has particular glow and beauty in *late Summer, and especially throughout Autumn. Good stuff.
Yes with that autumnal/late day light and feeling it would give it a completely different vibe, thanks Karen 👍😀
It's at its best on a cold, preferably with snow on the ground, sunny day in early to mid January. From the Roebuck pub at the top of Richmond Hill, the sunset is amazing over the River Thames between 4.00 pm and 5.00 pm. Head along the riverside walk towards Ham and the sunset is incredible. I did that myself this past January. We had frost and I walked across Richmond Park just before. Lovely.
Richmond is beautiful. I can see why Virginia Woolf loved it. Thanks for the tour. 😁
Great video, happy memories
Absolutely beautiful.
This Richmond upon Thames is a beautiful video and stroll. I notice you pronounce Thames with a silent "h". Thank you as I have been mispronouncing Thames with the pronounced "h" just like the word "thing". What a delightful area. So glad you caught that lovely flower shop in the center of the square. I bet the fragrance was so sweet to pass by. I loved the little quaint back alley streets and love the cobble stone streets and alleys! Beautiful little shops and such very old history! What with the Henrys, the Edwards, the one Richard, and that Queen Elizabeth I - the monarchy trademarks are fabulous tid-bits to know. HEY - look at that wonderful pub at 3:54 called The Old Ship!! Now that is English if I ever saw. I would love to have the good ole Fish n Chips with a dark English lager in there! And dont forget the Malt Vinegar on the fish!! OK, now I adore Paved Court. A beautiful side street that I would love to visit. Oh...The Open Book! I can see you in there. LOL I got such a laugh when you said..."having a good flick through - right!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 The river on Richmond is just gorgeous. I wonder if in the quiet serene area of the river, if people are allowed to take canoes out for a paddle? Loved this area and great video! Blessings.
Now you've got me feeling very hungry with the though of Fish & Chips with loads of salt and vinegar, wow.....it's funny as you know see more and more people canoeing in the Thames, than ever before and paddleboarding as well in certain bits as well! Another video that's made me think of to do is Putney where the rowing clubs are by the Thames! Thanks as always Luana :)

Steve the Flower shop is gorgeous 🎉all the little alleys with shops are beautiful 😍
You're so right, Richmond is a love find 👍😀
Cool history about the bridge but mate, you didn't mention the world's first flushing toilet right next to you on the green
Oh no 🚽🚽🚽😀👍
mick jagger and pete townsend lived in richmond ( richmond hill) but it seems far from central london
It's funny as it is only 10 miles directly from St Pauls, so not that far out and the Underground makes it quick as well!
@@LondonVisited i agree and it's even closer to chelsea and SW london etc where the cool night spots were that they probably went to
@@tonyclifton265 Totally 👍👍
@@LondonVisited but friends of mine in hampstead refuse to live in richmond cos it's "so far" from london by comparison to NW3 and you cant hail a black taxi in the street like in hampstead. richmond is surrey really, not london. same with barnes & putney
@tonyclifton265
More or less anywhere within the 6 main travel zones and Oyster card area is London to me, including Richmond, Hampton Court, Wimbledon etc.
Surrey to me is Dorking, Guildford, North Downs, Weybridge, Woking, Reigate etc.
Twickenham is nicer. But i suppose im biased being a Twickers boy.
Highly likely, but a good shout for me to come to Twickenham and do a video, adding it to my list now! Thanks for that :)
I just left Richmond and moved back to California. I miss Richmond.
Love Richmond. Thanks for watching 👍😀
