Can you please make a video explaining the order of operations you have followed building the truck? Videos are incredible I have watched the series back several times.
Dam Caleb. Those are Bitchin Lights. I am going to get me some for Mater's Little Brother and my 48 Dodge Power Wagon. I got a chuckle about how fast you were going. I drive mine a 60 mph on the Rural Highways. I put 273 miles on mine today doing Hay deliveries and dam it was hot here today. You are getting pretty good on shifting. Down shifting is the hardest to get used to. Occasionally I still grind em and I drive mine a lot. I wish I had that 2 speed rear end you have. I will find one locally some day I know there is one out there. 2 Thumbs up.
Love watching this content! Getting my Grandpa's last pickup running again 1974 International 100 pickup half ton. Nothing fancy but was his favorite. God bless!
Many times when resurrecting something like this that’s been sitting for a long time it takes some time to iron out the cobwebs. The more you use it the better it gets. Pretty soon if you keep with maintenance you could even daily drive it. Good job!
nice job on the truck! One thing to check on the coil, your truck was originally 6volt positive ground, check the wiring from the switch to the positive terminal on the coil, there should be a ballast resistor in line with the coil. If not, the coil will keep burning up
Love the truck. Transmission is not synchronized. To shift you have to double clutch. Press clutch, drop into neutral, release clutch, drop rpm's about 300, press clutch, shift into next gear.
Love the content so far. I've been watching the progress. I have a 53 b4b and unfortunately when I got it, someone had already chopped up the frame and made some alterations to it. I'm working on making it custom, but I plan on keeping the outside of the truck patina and completely stock. I love the fact that there aren't many of these trucks left on the road. Keep up the work. Love to see em on the road. Keep it up!
That old farm truck has come a long way in a relatively short period of time. You shouldn’t give up on ol’ Mater... That thing has so much real potential. Love the near-military green shade of paint you chose for it. Keep improving the ride quality, and you’ll have something to be very proud of... Love it....
We have a 64 c80 at our farm and we had that big block v8 up to 70 down the road but that was terrifying never again has it gone that fast again lol but we haul 40,000lbs in it
I subscribed because of this truck. I like how you are learning as you go. Find some old fart like me to teach you how to double clutch. You and Mater will get along a lot better once you learn.
Thats the way to get things done is with a pit crew, From what I could tell it lights the road a long ways and maybe just a tad to far as it doesn't show the road as much as the distance an if it did come down some then be a lot more enjoyable sos a deer or something jumps out that you will see it. Once engine is swapped an a bed on the back, it will ride like a caddy an then the real seats hit the interior ... you will head for costco to shop for grub with all that room.
Also the gears are flat gears in the older vehicles have to shift slower and a determined rpm to shift. In later years they make the gears tapered and they shift easier.
Yeah you should go ahead and start ordering so king pins and bushings for the front end along with lots of other front end chassis parts, you are gona need them if you keep riding up and down thoes dirt roads at 40-45 mph hitting ever pothole you can. with thoes big tires and that speed hitting potholes your going to tear the hell out of it. thats a farm truck not a gully jumper, But live and learn I guess
Ever get the new motor? Time to do that if you haven't yet.. Just go to a junkyard and pull an LS 6.0 out of a Silverado or something and maybe jam a turbo or two on it lol
@@lazyman5096 I think that would be perfect... not everything has to be diesel or twin turbo. I really think once he gets the bed on the back and some weight on her bones she will come into her own
Shift by rpms no clutch. It’s the best way to shift a transmission with no synchros. Or double clutch which more or less just lets the rpm get to where it will shift. If you let of the gas and let it idle down and upshift without clutch you’ll be driving like and old pro like this 65 year old man. Give it gas and shift down no clutch
Make sure if you do a engine swap make sure you try and find a owner what once that engine that's a really good engine I'm just try to not let it go to waste think that be perfect give it to a new home the engine
Shit my, 1989 f350 felt like it was going to kill me at 70, i seen the speed limit sign and laughed because i thought that was for everyone else and ford just do your best. I had to slow to 60 to feel safe, I'm not a ford man and that didnt change my mind
Fix the carb. Watch mikes carburetor on RUclips. With your skills you can rebuild and adjust that carb. Learn what the choke is for. Thanks for the fun.
Noah Taylor Maybe another try. I seem to hear it running bad and they are using the choke to make it run better. Lots of money spent on “stuff” and it just doesn’t sound like it’s running all that well.
@@markrandall1456 yeah but the engine is shipping out sometime so he probably doesn't want to throw money in a engine that he is going to take out. I didn't know that about carbs, I'm trying to learn about them as Im trying to get a 77 f150 eventually
On that old truck.get your rpm's up.and.then shift it will.go.a.lot.better with the he choke as she warms up keep pushing the choke in until temp is normal and then choke.should.be all the way in
ParoDoXz, the fact that DD was escorting you at night gives you a bit of a pass but be careful because no taillights is very dangerous (day or night) and when you post that on social media it could cause problems. Just trying to look out for you.
Thanks for letting me drive Mater! He’s solid!
Double clutch Mike!! That's the only way those square cut gears are gonna fit!!
Subscribed because I want to see the progression of your beautiful truck...you've put quite a bit of work into her, she'll treat you well.
Thanks Steve!
I’ve got a 1950 dodge 1 ton flatbed. Got it up to 65 mph on highway kinda scary but cruises nice around 50 mph
I’ll take an order of moonshine, Two milk crates please!
😂😂
I think that everytime I see this 😂

Have you tried double clutching when shifting? The transmission is probably not synchronized.
The lights are a little high but they look sick, it looks way different from the day you drug it home. Great Video ✌🏽
Thanks Keith!
You're doing a great job on this truck. Looking forward to seeing the flatbed you put on it and what's next for the interior.

Just found your channel and love it.... keep up on the great work.
Mater is such a cool old truck...
Much respect from Australia

A lot of the heavy duty trucks did not have synchros in the transmissions.
That old truck is looking sweet...nice job reviving Mator ...lights look great. Keep up the great work / content...I really enjoy it!

Really nice old truck and has came a long ways in a short period of time. Keep up the good work!
If the old girl had a new carburetor she'd probably run real good now!

You need an XM radio in that thing tuned to some 50's music! 😁
Looks like fun driving the old truck down the road! 45!
Get a load on the rear springs will make it ride a lot better.
Straw hat, twig in mouth, chequered shirt denim suspenders bare foot!!Yeehawwww!

This thing really needs a 4bt and an nv5600.
Been enjoying this build from the start, truck looks great.
Thanks Aaron!

are you keeping it positive ground? Love the old truck, love the color combo, and what kind of engine you going to put in it?
You did an excellent job with that old truck. What’s your plans with the bed? Wish you could find the original bed.
I had a 51 and the starter button was above the gas peddle. Nice job!
Also the gears are flat gears in the older vehicles have to shift slower and a determined rpm to shift.
In later years they make the gears tapered and they shift easier.
That’s a great looking truck, good job
Awesome headlights!!! So now what you going to do about tail light?
Yeah you should go ahead and start ordering so king pins and bushings for the front end along with lots of other front end chassis parts, you are gona need them if you keep riding up and down thoes dirt roads at 40-45 mph hitting ever pothole you can. with thoes big tires and that speed hitting potholes your going to tear the hell out of it. thats a farm truck not a gully jumper, But live and learn I guess
Next time I'm up i want a lesson on driving it!!
LEDs are awesome, but look like they need to come down a little.
Im wonder how it looks in my 1984 Nissan Junior truck wich uses quad headlights design
Need to get you some magnetic tail lights to use until you get the bed
Head lights are sick great choice bro
At 9:28 the old truck idling looks it needs A LOT of timing tuning 😊.
Ever get the new motor? Time to do that if you haven't yet.. Just go to a junkyard and pull an LS 6.0 out of a Silverado or something and maybe jam a turbo or two on it lol
Learn how to double clutch it to keep it from grinding the gears. It speeds the main shaft up to mesh with the drive shaft.
Sweet truck
Mater would be pretty cool with a 12 valve Cummins
Dont start
@@adrianprado1099 fr
Did you add a resistor on your coil hot wire?
Awesome truck!
Love the videos bro this is awesome
I sure hope Mater gets a 340 with a six pack an a six speed set up but when stuff is that old might make more sense to go automatic
Imagine putting a 5l v8 duramax engine with a sweet 6 speed manual transmision,mater will be a beast,not to say,a torque monster.
@@lazyman5096 I think that would be perfect... not everything has to be diesel or twin turbo. I really think once he gets the bed on the back and some weight on her bones she will come into her own
Probably have to readjust them after bed and shocks are added I'd say
any idea when i’ll get my job rated key chain. i am in ontario canada.
Sure lit up that cemetery
Amazing lights!!

What engine are you putting in it?
ParoDoXz you don't make four wheeler videos anymore?
GOTTA PUT NEW SHOCKS ON IT!!!
6:57 glitch in the matrix!
Just curious what State y'all live in?
The Chevy colorado 2.8 duramax would also be a cool swap

They are bright as hell

If you put some weight on the rear end it'll definitely ride way better on them back roads
Don’t forget put wipers in your 70 year old tuck truck
Got to double clutch that truck had many trucks that old no sincores in that trans
I have a picture of mater on a pillow
i remenber going with my father for a ride on a 1948 dodge same model once you get over 50 the body stars shaking
That's usually a tire issue
Double clutch
Im sorry this guy reminds me of Bubba on Forest Gump.. Every time i watch him.. 2020 white Bubba 😆

I expect it will ride better when you get the bed on. Will stop it from Bob-tailing so hard.
From inside the cab it almost sounds like a straight piped diesel
No one better not dis like
sup
Once you get the bed on it it’s not going to be as rough
The headlights look great and look like actual hid and 6500k temp, but those fog lights are pitiful.
I'm gonna be sad if the engine isn't the same
Rebuild the carb
This thing deserves a hay bed
Mater
Hey put a stained bed on that truck!!!
👍👍
You might want to put taillights on your truck before you get hit and it draws attention to your truck.
Tailights are built into the flatbed being put onto the truck. I had a buddy following us so nobody would sneak up on us from behind
Wat is the color of the green
eastwood color I can't remember if you go back a couple vids he goes over it
Ok thank you
she could use one ol' 12v 5.9
Where are your tail lights

Detroit diesel??? Or CAT????? Really hoping it's not a Cummins
Cummins swaps are just too original tbh. Everyone does them.
