This new meditation for me taught me a couple of useful lessons. I love the statement I often hear at the end of many meditations to stop any effort and just let your mind wander free wherever it wants to go. I had the idea that before you turn your mind back to the breath, you first find one or two words to specify what emotion you are feeling, eg: guilty, anger, afraid, etc, etc. and then return your focus back to that ever present base of the breath, or breathing. You are not mentally abnormal if you have disturbing thoughts and disturbing feelings because everybody has them and our brains, the human brain, has just evolved that way. Try not to take the disturbing thoughts and feelings too seriously; if you look hard enough you may find that everything has some flaw.
I don’t hate the simplicity of this meditation however I personally feel if I could meditate in silence I wouldn’t need a guided meditation so for me it was not the most productive as it was mostly complete silence to the point when he would begin to speak again I found it more disruptive than productive. Maybe others will appreciate it more. Non the less Namaste and he does have a very healing calming voice 🙏🤍
Thank you, the 15 minutes flew by so fast. I have commitment issues and get caught up in looking like a cheater in message screenshots. But I really do love my partner and don't want to be doing that, and don't want to be seen as worthless. I'll have to come back to this exercise.
