Apparently this show was originally planned to be released in 2005 but it was delayed by almost a year because if it had been released that year it would have been ill timed due to the July 2005 London bombings.
I just relies something, The Show was made in 2002 and didn’t get released until 2006, and the CG is dated by others, and yet TV shows and movie from other countries like ReBoot Beast Wars and Toy Story had better CGI effects, Man the UK hasn’t been doing a lot of those at the time.
Funnily enough, Jeffrey Woods's (now finished) Underground Ernie: The Real Stories made Bakerloo similar to Top Hat. He also created other characters based off of Other Underground lines.

Speaking of terrifying, the ungodly designs of this and Jay Jay the Jet Plane is probably what led to other CGI vehicle cartoons to ditch the "put human face on vehicle" cliche. Now, it's either Bob The Builder styled headlight eyes (Tayo The Little Bus) or Pixar Cars-like window eyes (Robot Trains, Robocar Poli, Chuggington).

It seems the reason why according to my knowledge is that there was a big underground crash around 2002. The BBC didn’t want to remind people about it with the brand new show, so they pushed it a few years back. Hope this helps!

This came out before Chuggington though! Underground Ernie started in June 2006 and ended less than 5 months later on Christmas Day the same year! (That must of been a Merry Fucking Christmas for Underground Ernie fans expecting a Second Series! The BBC gave us the middle finger then told us to go fuck ourselves!), it ended One year and 9 months before Chuggington started in September 2008!

I have not thought of this show in years, and just randomly this video popped up on the home page. Anyways nice editing my man, some very good jokes and I can see you have put a lot of research into this, but I do have some negatives; the first thing is that you explain exactly what is on screen, in the scene where Bakerloo (the Sherlock Holmes looking one), says “I knew that”, and you respond with “no you didn’t”, you don’t need to say that as the audience already knows that, and the babies who originally watched this problem already knew that, it seems like a really out of place point. Secondly I hate to say this, but your into (or at least the first one) is very messy, I know you are trying to show a lot of shows that you like, but dew to the different types of visuals on screen, the image looks cluttered and clumsy, if you just cut it down to say your favourite characters from each show and a little graphic showing the channels name, then I think 🤔 that it will look a bit cleaner. Also not really a third point, but why two intros, I just seems odd. Apart from that, a very interesting video.
It’s interesting what you said about the first logo on the DVD that appears the Warner Vision International logo and about it being creepy, well I’ve had this same DVD for 12 years since I was little and I was on holiday when I got the DVD and I used to watch it sometimes quite early in the morning and though none of the logos like the Warner vision didn’t creep me out I did find it interesting though and quite cool and that logo still seems cool to me now and it has a cool space age early 2000s kind of feel to it and plus I’d be watching the dvd in the living room and the curtains would be closed like you said so it helped with the early morning but dark atmosphere in the room with the cool but eerie kind of logo.

Secondly I hate to say this, but your into (or at least the first one) is very messy, I know you are trying to show a lot of shows that you like, but dew to the different types of visuals on screen, the image looks cluttered and clumsy, if you just cut it down to say your favourite characters from each show and a little graphic showing the channels name, then I think 🤔 that it will look a bit cleaner. Also not really a third point, but why two intros, I just seems odd.
Apart from that, a very interesting video.

It’s interesting what you said about the first logo on the DVD that appears the Warner Vision International logo and about it being creepy, well I’ve had this same DVD for 12 years since I was little and I was on holiday when I got the DVD and I used to watch it sometimes quite early in the morning and though none of the logos like the Warner vision didn’t creep me out I did find it interesting though and quite cool and that logo still seems cool to me now and it has a cool space age early 2000s kind of feel to it and plus I’d be watching the dvd in the living room and the curtains would be closed like you said so it helped with the early morning but dark atmosphere in the room with the cool but eerie kind of logo.
I think of this show as a proto chuggington
