LOTS OF MF135 ACTION WITH TOPPING, TIDYING & GIVING OUT ABOUT FURZE

  • Spent half the day changing attachments but all were needed to get the jobs done. Did some more prep for the silage bales on the yard, got rid of the collapsed silage bales with the transport box and threw on the topper to tidy up some weeds where we just moved the cattle out of.

We got Fordson Super Major -64 and Massey Ferguson 135 Perkins -65. Nothing more reliable around. Little workhorses. Fordson was very popular here in Finland and MF 135 is the most sold tractor on the planet.

Great video Karen, your not afraid of a bit of work. What you call Furze is probably what I call Whins, as already has been mentioned Grazon will take them out and not kill your grass, its for use in back sprayers only. I use Agritox on rushes with the application rate cut back a bit, dont be tempted to cut the rushes back and spray the fresh green growth, spray them as they are growing, the more foliage on them the more they take the spray in, it wipes them clean out and doesn't kill the grass either, Agritox contains M.C.P.A which is what kills the rushes, check first if you can use M.C.P.A in the south, I know there are perfectly good sprays available in the south that are banned for use in the north. A little bit of chemical spray used carefully is one of the sharpest tools in a farmers tool box.
