He went from: Have a drink to DON’T YOU DARE BLAME ME! so fast, but he told her to sit and have a drink, not once, but twice when she was ranting about dropping out of school and got mad when she talked about how all she does now is party and drink.
@@camiliamisbkawy2853 we're not. We're saying she never cheated on Jess, that's all. And that the two times she cheated on her bfs, she did it with him.
I know right like Dean is so perfect...all of them on the show had flaws, but he grew up, he was a young troubled kid nobody wanted him, his dad abandoned him, his mom dumped him off on Luke, everyone thought he was a screw up, but he made it on his own with no one else helping him, and he became a better person, and she inspired him, and he inspired her too
I think lorelai hated jess, because he reminded her too much of her and that means she couldn't control him, lile the others Its not a Bad thing. Its just lorelais way i guess
@@siba1554 I know he would kick things, yell at her all the time, and manipulate her all the time. He even cheated on his wife, and emotionally abused her, and blamed it all on Rory. Dean affected Rory so bad in that way that when she got with Jess she kept asking him if he was mad even after he assured her he wasn't because she was so used to Dean blowing up on her. He made her panic because she lost her bracelet, and yelled at her in front of people, and in public. He was clingy and obsessive. He always love bombed her, and Logan did too because they spoiled her, so she would look past their bad traits. Jess was the only one she wasn't afraid to stand up for herself with. She let Logan run all over her, put up with his drinking habits, he yelled at her in public, leaves her at the restaurant, and slept with his whole sisters bridal party. He watches her as she is falling apart, and does nothing to try to help her. As well as breaking up with her at her graduation in front of everyone, after she said she wasn't ready to get married. Then he has an affair, cheats on his wife, makes her the other woman, knocks her up while he is marrying someone else. Oh yeah real catches! Jess did some messed up things too, like pressuring her to do it, and then leaving town without a word, but he changed, grew up, and bettered himself, then helped her to be better too. Jess and Rory were made for each other!
It is so sad Jess always thought he was not good enough for Rory . Like in ‘swan song’ when Luke says “she picked you” he replies “god knows why”. The only time he actually knew he could take care of her and knew his worth and asked her to come with him she says she doesn’t want to be with him . He must have been so heartbroken . I love Jess btw 💓💓
I mean look at him!! But yeah he also had the best character growth in my opinion. He helped Rory get back on track when she dropped out of Yale and Logan did nothing but yelled at her when she didn’t even accuse him of not doing anything. Logan was a good boyfriend yes he loved Rory enough to change for her and want to marry her, but Jess is the one who pushed her.
THIS IS SO IMPORTANT! Everyone talks about how they hate who Rory turned out to be, but I actually feel the opposite. I think she was praised so much for being perfect when she was young that she had to go through all of this when she became an adult. And honestly, seeing how much it mirrors Jess's experiences and how they helped each other through it makes it all so perfect.
Exactly! To me rory is the female jess...her story just lags his by a couple of seasons thats all. I think jess trauma bonded with rory cause he finally found someone who understands him. Both got abandoned by their fathers while parenting their ditsy dating moms. They have a lot in common, jess understand her...most importantly he sees whats wrong with her when others don't and he is healthy for her. Jess just had his "this is no longer ok. F it! I'm p!ssed" moment before rory did. Rory is a perfectionistic people pleaser....she can't act out or speak her mind. Jess got it out of his system by confronting his dad and reading the self help book. But by suggesting she write a book about her life..aka the feelings she bottled up. He is helping her get it out of her system. And you see her confront her dad and "someone" send emily a nasty letter....cause if emily was a better mother her parents wouldn't have spit up. I love rory unraveling and even the pregnancy (which definitely isn't logans). At her core, rory's perfectionism....a fear to make a mistake...and her people pleasing nature. I think its about Chris abandoning her. Logan is basically chris...with time she will outgrow him/her trauma. And her being pregnant while writing about her childhood. She will be reliving some things. I definitely think jess is the right guy for her....when she gets over her daddy issues. She doesn't need to be perfect with him...just real. And no people pleasing...jess doesn't give a rats A about the opinion of others and teaches her to please herself for once. He is exactly what's healthy for her.
If we get another revival, I hope we find out Jess had a plan in telling her to write her book: 1. He already realizes all of this and waiting for her to see it, too. As she writes and reflects on her life. 2. He used books to draw her in from the beginning. Maybe her book will bring them back together (full circle) 3. He, his company, will publish her book. Working together on this will be the perfect time for him to crank up the charm, build her trust and win her back.
Logan thought he knew rory, but he never did and he didn't understand her, jess knew her and understood her, their connection is so deep.. how can someone not be team jess?
@@AmandaVieiraMamaesouCult I'm not justifying the way he treated her when they were dating, but he just didn't know any better, he never got a good example of what a healthy relationship should look like so he just didn't know how to act... but he grew up and became a much better person. And he still loves her. I think they're just meant to be together.
Exactly! Logan was with her when she stated losing herself. Dean was with her when she was trying to become herself. Jess was with her through it all. He always knew exactly who she was and who she needed to be. Even when he would leave, he was always the one to come back and not mess anything up. Dean came back but cheated on his wife. Logan came back, but cheated on whoever he was with, and so did she. Jess came back, and sure, he kissed her, but that's when he thought she wasn't with another guy.
I am completely and utterly in love with this because whenever people wanna argue against Jess yelling at Rory about Yale, I just wanna shake them and point them to this entire parallel because THIS!! This is why Jess is the only one who's able to take Rory out of whatever crisis she goes through in life when it comes to her work and her ambition. Because he's faced the same too. I do think that Rory having her mother/grandparents to back her up is partly the fault behind her not really knowing how to face the lack of career goals she has in certain moments, but I also think that it's an issue that she's obviously been put on this path by Lorelai to a certain extent, and was never given the space to fuck up when she was younger because she was always "supposed" to be the model child to a great mom. She has many expectations to fill out as a "good" kid and this ends up spectacularly backfiring on her later in life, whereas Jess was always considered to be a lost cause, so it wasn't until he was at rock bottom in his life (after Rory rejecting him and Luke telling him he won't interfere with his life anymore in season 4), does he begin to pick himself up and use his potential to better his own life, because it's not about pleasing anyone, but about putting his life together in a way that would suit him. While I hate the way the revival made Rory look (I would've been fine if she realized that journalism wasn't for her, I just wish it wasn't paired up with her cheating with Logan AGAIN and that being put in the center of her story more than her career issues), it's clear that this parallel is still valid and she and Jess will always mirror each other in some fundamental way, not just in how they grew up with single mothers (but had opposite upbringings), but in how they fail in certain moments in life, and they use each other's words and encouragement to go forth and become better. This is why Jess saying he "knows her better than anyone" matters, not because Lorelai doesn't know her well, but because he knows that she's a flawed human being who's capable of being imperfect and wrong, and that's ok. She's just gotta know how to not lose herself in the process, and Jess helps her find herself again.
I went on a long rant and forgot to just say that I really adore this and I thank you so much for making it. It's so simple but so thorough and the way you place the scenes side by side only further help in showing how similar their stories are, just at different times in their lives. At the end of it, they're kind of in the opposite position of where they started (with Jess being the one with the pompoms, and Rory needing the encouragement) and although the execution of it wasn't the best, this is what makes their story so compelling for me. Thank you again for making this, it's beautiful and I love that it's long
Thank you so much, you really got the point of this video, I was trying to show how they went through a similar journey but in a different time of their lives. They're just so meant to be, and I can't help but feeling sad for the way it all ended up. We deserve to see Rory realizing the she always loved him and that he was the only one for her. We deserve to see Rory succeed as a writer (because clearly the journalism path is not an option anymore) and finding a purpose in her life. And mostly I really want to see them all as an happy family, with Lorelai & Luke and Jess & Rory + her child. Can you imagine Jess raising a child and finally having a family that he never had when he was a kid? God, we could've had it all 😭
I'm still so pissed for what they did to Rory from Season 4 and on. I mean, she deserved better, it pissed me off how she's still so lost even in the revival. They really played dirty on her 😞 At least, they should make another Season to give her a proper ending. Which should be: her writing the story of her life in that book, and while doing it realizing that she has always loved Jess. I can also picture him being the only one there for helping her during her pregnancy. She gives birth, the book will become a hit, and she and Jess will finally get back together. That's how it should end up!
Someone should send the screenshot of this comment to ASP and her husband 😁 Seeing this on the screen? A dream coming true. Btw, I agree about everything you said about Rory, seeing her so lost really hurts me because I've always loved her character till Season 3, then after Jess left she losted herself too. Just a coincidence? I don't think so 😉
I always pictured the ending that now that she’s writing a book maybe he’ll be there one to publish it and that’s how they’ll finally be able to reconnect lol
I liked the Rory is lost and struggling job prospect wise storyline from the revival. It felt organic and real to me especially as a millennial. She went into journalism which is a hard career even more so with so many papers dying. So I loved to see the career struggle. What I hated was making Rory a horrible person. She had a BF that was butt of jokes in revival we never saw who she cheated on constantly. She was still sleeping with Logan who was engaged or at least with some else (can’t recall). It was like didn’t she learn that lesson didn’t we have the story line already. She at least felt guilty the first time. This time she didn’t even care. That’s just not what I’d expect of Rory. That’s what I hated. She seemed so uncaring about it all that I didn’t care who she ended up with because they would all deserve better then her. Then they end it on some cheap cliffhanger where no one knows who the father is exactly. Also a story line that would have made more sense and more impactful if Rory was in her 20s and not 30s. I know they wanted to do the mother daughter parallels. Seemingly setting Logan up to be the father and her Christopher and Jess her pinning Luke but it was all to on the nose. Ugh and even if they wanted to psych us all out and make her end up with Logan and have him be her Luke and maybe try to give the second version or lor/chris the ending. It just wouldn’t work because of how cheap they made Rory and Logan sleeping together in the revival. That’s not a love story thats toxic people hurting other people. 🤷🏼♀️ I’ve ranted on and on and probably don’t even make sense now. 😂
OMG OMG OMG!!!! How I didn't saw the big picture before! 😱 This is the proof of what I've always thought: they're soulmates, they're meant to be. 4:44 Logan: Don't you dared blame me! Can people explain me exactly why they like Logan? I mean, c'mon, he's so inconsistent. All surface, no substance. I also think that Tristan was meant to be Logan, if Chad hasn't left for OTH. But Jess, man, Jess was something else. He's an anomaly. He should've been the bad boy of the situation with the leather jacket and all, but I've never seen a bad boy so smart, so interested in literature and books. Jess is unique. And he's always been the only one for Rory, period.
I watched Gilmore girls when I was a teenager, and I was shipping Rory and Logan, but after seeing this video, and this extract (when Logan is yelling at Rory for no reason), I cannot explain why I used to like Logan… He is a jerk, and he does not help Rory at all.
I'm so glad my video helped you realized it. The thing is Logan never did anything to help Rory realizing how wrong her choice to left Yale was. Instead, he has always "encouraged" her attitude, by not taking any position on it. I have always felt as if in this relationship, Logan wanted to change Rory and shape her in his image and likeness. Rory was her true self only around Jess. He always wanted the best for her, and I think that was the mainly reason why he left at the end of Season 3. He didn't felt worthy. He had to work hard on himself to becoming a better man. And at the end, nobody's worthy of Jess now, lol
Jess started to grow up and Rory started to revert into the teenager that Jess was and others thought she should have been. They switched. I think that’s why the writers didn’t put them together in the end of the original run, because they became each other’s past selves and that didn’t work out because they weren’t ready to be together. They kept missing each other. I think that in the future they would become their own version of Luke and Lorelei and end up together but during the show, they weren’t ready yet
Omg, ahahah at first I though you writed "I don't understand how you could ship Rory with Jess" I was shooked for a moment 😂😂 Anyway, thanks a lot ❤️❤️
I love the part at (0:39) when both Jess and Rory don't want to be around people after being rejected (Jess from school, and Rory from her career of journalist) and Rory said that she wants to go to see the sea, and you put the transition to Jess at the sea. Just woah! 😮
I never could decide between Logan and Jess for Rory as Endgame. I love Logan. But this video made me realise Jesse is Rory's Luke. Also it made me cry. I just love it in every way.
Rory and Jess deserved to be endgame because they fit each other an pushed each other to be the best versions of themselves. Rory believed in Jess and Jess helped Rory get back on track. They just fit and they should've ended up together. It hurt that Rory denied the chance of a re-kindled relationship when Jess was ready to be in one and he was finally ready to be with her.
The most important thing that people keep forgetting is it wasn’t just one encouraging the other... both of them kept encouraging each other. Both of them constant with how they saw so much potential in other. In earlier seasons, Rory said this to Jess so much and then in later seasons, it was Jess who encouraged her to find her potential. Also, they both had the most substantial at the same time, most casual conversations. They were talking about books, ambitions, careers at one time or just sitting silent by the pond, silent, comfortable in each other’s company the other time.
Logan completely ruined her life. Rory and Jess were the best for each other. They’re quality of life would have been better for them to be together. Rory and Logan were the worst of the relationship, Logan ruined her life and made her careless and changed her. Jess always pushed Rory to her limits and she did the same for him.
Notice the difference between logan and jess in this video (when jess is giving the whole no yale speech). Jess is knocking so much sense into rory’s messed up brain whereas logan isn’t encouraging her at all and just claiming that her not being in yale, being in the dar, living at her grandparents place is all just ‘temporary’. What i’m saying is that logan never challenged rory’s bad decisions and never took accountability of her smarts and how she was throwing away her life and all jess had to do was give a 20 second speech to knock more sense into her than logan did for the entirety of their relationship.
I shipped her with dean yes until she waited until he was married but Logan friendship yes anything more I never saw it with Logan he just always seemed sweet but he reminded me more of her dad if that makes sense but the way jess called her out and lorelai love it I've always loved jess....
I commented before but now I wanted to add that it's interesting how similar they are in a few other ways too - his mother had him at age 18 and her mother at 16, they both have half siblings born when they are pretty much adults (Rory with Gigi when she's 18, Jess would've been 22 I think in season 7 when Doula is born).
Their stories are completely parallel and opposing all at once. Jess started out lost and in a bad place and ended up successful while Rory started as someone with dreams and aspirations and ended up lost and unsuccessful.
They are soulmates and they always will be. Jess was the only one right for Rory, he is her Luke so even if it wasn't shown in the revival, i am sure in the future she would have ended up with him. I agree with everything you said in the description wonderful tribute for my OTP😍😍
you can see that they still have feelings for each other in the revival. obviously you can see jess but rory also had some kind of feeling. and i feel like rory never truly fell out of love with jess, i just think that she was scared of being hurt again.
They always bring out the best in each other, and compliment each other so well. They have the same interest, social group back in stars hollow and are just perfect together . Team Jess forever
I’m a sucker for parallels. Rory and Jess are my absolute favorite OTPs ever. And let me say that was an amazing 8:52. I loved every second. The fact that you showed a major parallel between Rory and Jess that no one realized is just truly amazing. I always thought Rory and Jess were soulmates but this further proves it. It makes me rethink about them as if we have new storylines of them but even though as much bad of a journey Rory went thru in s6 and the revival her story always connected to Jess. They were so alike. He ends up saving her (in both s6and revival) like how she saved him. Truly phenomenal thank you for this! ❤️❤️❤️
You’ve done such a wonderful work with this. People including me have always wondered why they dragged Rory’s character downhill... what she said about always having things figured out and now not knowing what she really wants hits home. Also, Idc that Rory didn’t choose Jess in the end. I for one was actually pretty happy with ending how she broke things off with Logan (because NO MATCH there). As for Jess and Rory, they stopped their catch and chase. Jess, pushed her to write a book... start over and when time is right, she’ll find him. I am happy that for once, Rory was enough for herself... they didn’t put her up with a man to multiply her happiness. But yeah, Rory and Jess are the endgame no matter whose baby she’s carrying.
THIS IS SO GOOD. ALL THE PARALLELS. THE DESCRIPTION. THE ENDING WITH THE MONOLOGUE AND THE SCENES (or when no one else would / and no matter what happens, you'll always love them) ALL OF THIS. HOLY SHIT IT'S SO GOOD
I think what i love about this ship is that Rory always believe in Jess potential when everyone else is saying he is a lost cause and Jess can manage to slap the reality of Rory. too bad that their relationship ends prematurely,
no one ever gives jess the credit he deserves. he brought out the best in rory. no one ever considers that fact. it’s always “but her and logan are cute” or “dean was sweet to her” but no. jess was the only one who actually cared enough to push her to be the best she could. i can’t believe anyone would disagree with that.
I started bawling when the ending monologue came on. This is so perfect. They are so perfect. I love this and them so much, and I will forever mourn over them.
They are literally soulmates. He knew her more than anyone does! He convinced her to go back to college, to write a book and she believed in him too when no one else did too! 💙
Finally someone else sees it as well! But I think this goes beyond this. I think jess is a recovering co-dependent. He had an unstable homelife probably had to take care of his nutty mom after the next loser left. Untill he reached puberty and was in the "THIS IS SO F-ING UNACCEPTABLE!" stage. He acted out until he got luke who took care of him for once. He read the self-help book and got some self-knowledge and closure and realised what toxic behaviour he wasn't gonna stand for anymore...nor do himself. But rory is lorelai's/gilmore's co-dependent. She mothers her mother but who mothers her? She needs to be perfect and makes pro/con lists cause God forbid she ever makes a bad decision. She is a people pleaser pleasing that entire town....but she doesn't please herself. And when things go wrong she falls to pieces. She dates guys like her father who are toxic and abandon her. And at that job interview she couldn't answer the question why she wanted the job.....cause SHE doesn't want it. Jess knows rory better then rory knows herself....cause jess is the male rory....he is just way ahead of her in his recovery thats all. He snapped at an earlier age while rory kept torturing herself emotionally. Rory could bare it longer thats all. Rory just only reached the "I can't take this anymore!" stage during the revival. While everyone thinks rory is fine....jess looked worried...he knows. Thats why he advised her to write that book cause its jess going " write everything out of your system, baby. Get it off of your chest. How did your childhood make you feel...is this acceptable to you now". Its self-help book time for rory. And what followed was rory confronting her dad about him just leaving and not having the guts to fight to be in his daughters life. And Emily got a nasty letter. People pleaser rory will never say a bad word to grandma. But thats how she feels about how grandma's actions effected her life. Internally she is as p!ssed off as jess was when he first came to town. Its why that book just flew out of her and felt like she had the story in her head her whole life.....cause its the feelings she had been bottling up her whole life. Thats why she felt like she NEEDED to write that book. Jess gave her a way to let it all out. Its why she is so excited...she is getting rid of the emotional baggage. Good job jess.😘👏 Both rory and jess are caring people who took on the weight of the world while they basically grew up parenting themselves and parenting the adults around them as kids. They are independent, smart and strong willed. But only jess has rory's back and truly understands her and cares for her. But rory is currently too messed up to see jess clearly. But from the moment they got into that car accident, jess just wants to be the one to "help her get what she wants by standing in front of the car screaming in a foreign language". He wants to be the guy she relies on. And he wants her to get everything she wants in life even if she is too insecure to go get it. And he is being that guy...Rory just can't see what he is doing for her thats all.
Not sure about jess, because codependency is described as having an unhealthy interest in a person's well being (which sounds more like season two dean), but he was never really there for rory at all while they were "dating". Rory is definitely not codependent. She's psychotic.
@@TheMarkmcr I got narcissistic vibes from dean. He was very guilttrippy, controlling and manipulative and wants to be SEEN AS the good guy. Gave me the creeps. Yes rory and jess dating was toxic as hell cause jess was a mess. But I still think they are both co-dependents. Jess is just over it and thinking of himself for once. But rory. She doesn't follow her dream cause grandpa wants yale. She dates logan who grandma wants for her. To the point that she is lost in life in the revival.
@@maaiker2977 dean's behavior in seasons 2-4 was terrible, but I was just pointing out how a codependent person's desire to be needed might lead them to act overprotective of others. Rory didn't have the right type of childhood to cause codependency (lorelai may be immature, but she doesn't have any trouble with taking care of herself), and she definitely wasn't concerned about pleasing lorelai when she wanted to quit on chilton because of meeting dean in the pilot episode
@@TheMarkmcr Thats a good point. She wanted to quit Chilton because of Dean but ended up staying because of Lorelai/Emily. Their desires for her to be in Chilton outweighted her desire to be in a school with her (boy)friends. Their needs before her own. Rory is the one that has to pick lorelai off of the ground again every time Chris does what he does. She even tells her father that when they argue. Rory protects and emotionally takes care of Lorelai. She mothers her mother. Even the last scene with jess in the revival....what does rory do?..she puts a clothe on someones head...she is mothering someone. Is that her responsibility to do so?....no. And thats the other reason jess looks sad through the window. Its not just "he isn't over her"....its also "he is worried about her". Jess sees rory isn't ok when the others think she is fine. She is about to emotionally blow thats why he suggested the book...its an outlet for her bottled up emotions. Good boy jess.👏😘 I agree both dean and jess (and logan) were toxic. But I think with dean its a personality disorder you can't fix. And with jess its childhood issues he has already overcome. And not only isn't he toxic as a grown up....he is actually healthy for rory.
@@maaiker2977 I don't think we saw enough of dean as an adult in the revival to determine that he is a genuine narcissist. However, haven't you considered that your initial interpretation of dean in your last comment is in fact what rory's doing? What we're seeing from her is love bombing/manipulation, not true codependency. Rory was probably projecting her own issues with christopher onto lorelai. She demonstrates textbook narcissist/psycho behavior during the sandeesays interview and when she tells lorelai about her book idea at the cemetery. She also remorselessly cheats on her boyfriends, stole a yacht in revenge for mitchum's bad review, is shown laughing about the situation of luke having to close and remodel the diner due to a car crash, and actually makes a joke about paris possibly spending night in the hospital (7x12). Somehow I doubt that a normal, mentally stable person would find any of that funny.
WOWWWW this is just genius I've never seen a video that shows their connection so well and how they constantly support each other and inspire one another to go after their dreams. This is so unique and beautiful! Ahhh I love it and them so much!! Fantastic job, this made me see even different aspects of their stories I had never even thought of. Thank you so much for making this masterpiece. If anyone ever needs proof their soulmates I would just tell them to watch this video
I love this video with all my heart coz so many parallels I didn't realise existed. So glad Rory went through similar stuff later on because she at times gave Jess crap for the same thing coz she didn't understand him. Also They never really spoke about their shared experience of having an absent father, it's so similar yet different which is crazy. And they both had Luke as that figure which was great
I loved this video so much, even the soundtrack is perfect. I never noticed this parallel between their histories, it's perfect, I wonder if it was intentional. I always thought they should have ended up together, when Jess vanished from the series everything became a little strange. For me, Logan seemed a wrong piece in the puzzle. I'm rewatching the series now and my opnion didn't change, this video only made it stronger. Plus, it's also cool to see how Lorelai and Luke were their for each other during the Jess and Rory dramas haha. Rory and Jess have a real thing, a deep one, and I think we all want that, someone that will always be there, even if he/she are not actually there, even if it is not in a romantic way. It cannot make sense for others, but what matter is that will always make sense for us
Rory and Jess were meant to be from the minute they saw each other. Dean was a good boyfriend yet only 3 months after starting to date he threw away the key and told her he already loves her!! Like it takes time, not 3 months! And ever since Logan came into the picture, everything went downhill, theft of a yacht, missing relationships, living with her grandparents, dropping out from yale, having other relationships while in one with each other, or basically cheating on each other!! And yet there are still so many mistakes and wrong turns. Yet jess did some terrible things to rory too. He left her in the dust several times, rory was always giving him encouragement but he always shoved it aside, getting into fights, ditching school, not taking her to her prom, and so much more. But I still think that they were meant to be cause they understood each other than anyone else.
WOW...Just...WOW. I can’t believe I haven’t come across a video like this sooner. It seems so obvious now looking at the side by sides, but how even some of the specific scenes parallel. It’s just perfect. Don’t even know what to say except, you did a phenomenal job, and this just shows why I always felt these two needed to end up together in some capacity. Whether it’s romantic or platonic, they’ll always be there for each other. I mean, let’s be honest, they set it up so clearly at the end of the revival for him to be her Luke.
My eyes are full of 😢tears.. A beautiful parallel edit.. Perfect sweet and emotional short love story.. Honestly, logan is asshole..Nobody actually understood them, only they did for each other.. Jess still loves and care for her truly so does she.. Both are confused though😕.. It's true sometimes soulmates aren't meant to stay together.. Sad truth... 😐
You greatly encompassed how both of them made each other better people, pushed each other to their limits and always knew what would be the best for each other. I know a lot of people believe Rory and Logan belong together. But I don't think so, I never did. Jess was always the one who pushed Rory back onto the pedestal towards greatness. And Rory always knew Jess was meant to do so much more, be more, he never graduated or got a degree but he became the best person. The kind of person Rory knew he could be - the best version of himself. This video is amazing!! I am absolutely over the moon😍 but it also broke my heart - again. Knowing that these two never ended up together...
Wow. Just wow. This is really creative and such a great meta essay in video form aided by all the text in the description. I really love the little fanvideo about them being soulmates at the very end too. This is so beautiful with the super HD pretty clips and the coloring too. Thank you for making this and giving me something to reflect on that maybe I can use in fanfiction if i get back into writing. I don't know
I hope you'll find inspiration again, I know for experience how it feels when you're stuck. Thank you so much for the comment, you're always so kind and sweet 💕
@@StardustProductionsOfficial I'm still trying to get myself inspired to write fanfiction again! I rewatched all of Gilmore Girls December-February, which helps a lot. ;)
THIS IS INCREDIBLE!! WHAT A MASTERPIECE!! Such a unique idea sweetie!! I love all the similarities between them and you really showed it so well. This is such a great edit you did and it really showed different sides of their relationship and how they both struggled and then concurred. Love the ending as well!! ❤️🥰
Ok this shit made me BIG SAD. They really were soulmates. I don't even have to look at other videos of them to see that. Best one yet. Thank u for taking the time to do this @StardustProductions. This is amazing. Their stories are amazing and the side by side comparisons really show how they mirror each other and were more similar than they gave each other credit for. I truly think Jess understood Rory the best and the two pushed each other to greatness. Even though they didn't necessarily end together, perhaps we can imagine that they did. Love like that can't be forgotten. Logan was wild, intelligent and a carefree spirit but he didn't always support Rory in the ways she needed. And Dean was lovely, a lovely first, but they have complicated history and it worked out better that they separated because they didn't fit. As Dean talked about in a past episode, he became someone she outgrew.
Wow. I came back to this two days after the first watch because I couldn’t stop thinking about this video! I rarely like AMV’s but this is just a whole other level. What I like the most about Rory and Jess’ relationship is that they always saw each other differently than everybody else. Jess saw the real Rory, not just a good girl who likes to read. And Rory knew Jess wasn’t as bad as everyone else (literally everyone in his life) made him look. That’s why their bond is stronger than the one she had with Logan. While she was stressing out and trying to figure out what she was doing wrong after quitting Yale, Logan offered her to drink and calm down, when Jess knew exactly that she was lost and needed to sort her life out. (Side note: I hate that ppl who don’t like Jess say that he didn’t make her go back to Yale, like have they even seen the show??) Jess is one of my favourite characters, but I am conflicted when it comes to him being with Rory. Because on one hand, after their breakup you can see that Rory is actually over him, probably for good (and I can’t blame her tbh, he broke her heart). Besides, that scene when she tried to cheat on Logan with him just made it perfectly clear who she had feelings for. She only felt bad for trying to use Jess because she felt bad for him, which was so heartbreaking to watch. Plus in the revival it doesn’t seem like she cares about him at all, they’re not even good friends anymore, because the last time they had seen each other was 4 years prior to Lorelai’s wedding. Still, that doesn’t mean that they’re not soulmates. As Amy Sherman-Palladino said herself, they are star-crossed, so I don’t think she ever intended them to have their happily ever after (otherwise we wouldn’t have had such discussions years after the show’s finale, lol). But I’m glad to see how Jess still has a good influence on Rory’s life, and hopefully they will keep making each other’s life better. Ps I know nobody will ever read this comment, but I just wanna say that if you agree with me, you should read “the weight we carry” on ao3 cause it just tells the whole story from Jess’ POV and it’s just so SO SO good.
Both of them went through very similar stuff, the diferente is that Jess dealt with it in a different way than Rory, a better way, maybe it's bc everything happened way sooner for him They were soulmates, the timing was just awful
Most of the videos I see about gilmore girls were made atleast 4 years ago. It's kind of refreshing, in a way, to see a recently made one lol. I love this video so much and thank you for convincing me even more that rory and jess are soul mates
So far I got to see your video and I completely regret not having done it before !! I always thought since I have seen the series and all the times that I have managed to repeat it to myself that they are literally the soul mate of the other, each one was in the moment to open the eyes of the other. When Netflix released this revival of the series, it was clear that it was not the best but it opened the way for us to think that they could really end up together. Jess team always series no matter what, for me he is the one for Rory in all aspects, I hope and something happens soon for the couple. I do not know if they are planning something soon about gilmore girls but that would really fill me with great happiness and if they know, please comment and inform, that this fandom did not die, neither for the series nor this wonderful couple.
ありがとう、、this literally hit my heart... I really liked that you focused on the connections between them, which no one actually described it as a video. Really nice one! This literally changed my view of the film in a good way and I might watch it over again!
Honestly this is SOOOO TRUEEE! They went through the same thing at different times, but in the end, they were opposites. Jess ended up being successful even though no one thought he would. No one ever praised him. No one ever wanted him to make something more of himself, but he did. Every one praised Rory, everyone always cheered her on, everyone always expected so much of her, but she turned out terribly. I feel so bad for the way everyone neglected jess this whole time. 🙁
Wow! I have no words. A stunning piece which you have obviously put a lot of work and thought into. Congratulations. These 2 are so complex and complicated and I love their story from beginning to end. How anyone can think they aren’t soulmates is beyond me. I am going to be thinking about this all day now. Thanks a lot lol.
This fanvid just blew my mind. Words can't do justice to what I feel about this video right now. It's like I always knew about this been watching and re-watching this show but what I am witnessing here from your perspective is immensely wonderful! ❤
This scream soulmate, dean was a good first boyfriend for Rory but I love Jess and Rory together I wish they were together. I don’t like Logan. I like how Jess was the one who gave a wake-up call to Rory when he found out that she dropped out off yale. They are perfect for each other.
Questo video mi ha commosso così tanto che ho pianto davvero, è stato incredibile come hai colto i parallelismi tra Jess e Rory e vorrei farti i miei complimenti.
If we get another revival, I hope we find out Jess had a plan in telling her to write her book: 1. He already realizes all of this and waiting for her to see it, too, as she writes and reflects on her life. 2. He used books to draw her in from the beginning. Maybe her book will bring them back together (full circle) 3. He, his company, will publish her book. Working together on this will be the perfect time for him to crank up the charm, build her trust and win her back. I wonder, though, if ASP is avoiding Rory and Jess endgame because of whatever happened in Alexis and Milo’s breakup? They had such insane chemistry on screen, but they were also dating in real life at the time and obviously so in love. What if in real life one of them really hurt each other, and ASP knows something we don’t? Anyways, it’s so obvious Rory and Jess are supposed to be together. Maybe now that Milo and Alexis are both single we’ll have a chance at getting the ending right in a revival?
🤯 My Mind was literally just BLOWN! How did I miss some of these parallels??! .. They don’t seem at first glance to have the longest or strongest story line because it’s broken up into pieces. But I’ve always wanted them to end up together. .. it’s very interesting as I’m watching this and realizing that I am probably partially Team Jess because of these subconscious parallels that translate as familiarity that I find as an indication that they belong together. This was Very well made. Thank you for the time and effort into making this.
Jess and Rory literally went from “I don’t even know you” to “I know you. I know you better than anyone”
Oh my god I or someone need to vid that parallel asap!!
PREACH! 🙌
Me either!!!
Yes! 💗
Logan: "TEMPORARY, Have a drink" v.s. Jess: "This is isn't you Rory. I know you, I know you better than anyone."
I HATE LOGAN
Logan was a party boy. Thats it rich and could give her anything. Except a great relationship like Jess could .
@@hayattanhazalmiyorumnickha5455 me too, me too.
He went from: Have a drink to DON’T YOU DARE BLAME ME! so fast, but he told her to sit and have a drink, not once, but twice when she was ranting about dropping out of school and got mad when she talked about how all she does now is party and drink.
well to be honest Logan thinks drinking and getting drunk solves every problem.
Notice how Rory never cheated on Jess, but she cheated on Dean and Logan WITH Jess. That’s something I always think about.
OMG I JUST NOTICE THAT
Can we not romanticize cheating
@@camiliamisbkawy2853 we're not. We're saying she never cheated on Jess, that's all. And that the two times she cheated on her bfs, she did it with him.
that makes me happy
I realized
jess struggled when she didnt, rory struggled when he didnt. they needed eachother, always.
right person wrong time at it's finest.
I kinda hate it that rory never told lorelai that she talked to Jess when she got back to Yale. Lorelai hated Jess to much for nothing
I know right like Dean is so perfect...all of them on the show had flaws, but he grew up, he was a young troubled kid nobody wanted him, his dad abandoned him, his mom dumped him off on Luke, everyone thought he was a screw up, but he made it on his own with no one else helping him, and he became a better person, and she inspired him, and he inspired her too
I think lorelai hated jess, because he reminded her too much of her and that means she couldn't control him, lile the others
Its not a Bad thing. Its just lorelais way i guess
@@tobytheshih-tzu6329 dean was such a bad boyfriend he was so jealous and manipulative
Well to be fair, Jess was a POS to everyone but Rory when he was a teenager.
I know, right? It's so sad, he always felt like he was unworthy of love 😞 The funny aspect is that now, nobody is worthy of him, lol.
I love Jess too❤❤❤
Love him too! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow! I never noticed all this parallels between the two even after the multiple times I’ve watched the show!
Yeah, I just realized them recently, too. Kind blow my mind 😁
Ikr!! 👏👏👏👏
Me neither and it kinda of amazing
Me neither but it just makes me ship them even more.❤️❤️❤️
me neither!!
Yes THIS!🙏🙏🙏
I never agreed this HARD to anyone ever before
@@cassieclancy9495 You've got to contact Palladino couse we'd all like to see it happens
BTW great concept it'll live in my head rent free
Logan thought he knew rory, but he never did and he didn't understand her, jess knew her and understood her, their connection is so deep.. how can someone not be team jess?
YES logan or dean never knew rory like jess did
Bc he treated her badly sometimes. Yes, I get it, he was a troubled teen, but still. I'm not glamorizing this shit
That why I am saying logan is her Christopher and Jess is her luke
I don't think so 😉
Omg yaaassss (imma just gonna pretend that's the ending)
I always pictured the ending that now that she’s writing a book maybe he’ll be there one to publish it and that’s how they’ll finally be able to reconnect lol
i think she was praised so much when she was young that she got too full of herself and let all that hard work slip away.
I think Jess was never a bad boy, he was just lost.
Kyra cz yes I agree! He was just mad and needed to find himself!
"all surface, no substance" couldn't agree more! thank you for finally putting how I felt about Logan into words!
jess and rory connect on so many levels and the fact that there is a debate on who she should be with irks me.
I still don’t understand how you could ship Rory with someone who isn’t Jess.
They just scream “soulmatism”.
Beautiful edit as always💓
Omg, ahahah at first I though you writed "I don't understand how you could ship Rory with Jess" I was shooked for a moment 😂😂 Anyway, thanks a lot ❤️❤️

No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We love Jess.
I love the part at (0:39) when both Jess and Rory don't want to be around people after being rejected (Jess from school, and Rory from her career of journalist) and Rory said that she wants to go to see the sea, and you put the transition to Jess at the sea. Just woah! 😮
🎯
I never could decide between Logan and Jess for Rory as Endgame. I love Logan. But this video made me realise Jesse is Rory's Luke. Also it made me cry. I just love it in every way.
Rory and Jess deserved to be endgame because they fit each other an pushed each other to be the best versions of themselves. Rory believed in Jess and Jess helped Rory get back on track. They just fit and they should've ended up together. It hurt that Rory denied the chance of a re-kindled relationship when Jess was ready to be in one and he was finally ready to be with her.
i don’t think that rory fell out of love with jess, i just think she was scared of getting hurt again considering their past
NO ONE EVER AGREES WITH ME ON THIS BUT YOURE 100% right
Notice the difference between logan and jess in this video (when jess is giving the whole no yale speech).
Truly appreciate your comment. Yup. Logan was the good time Charlie.. not reality at all. I had a relationship like that once. We finally broke up
how could anyone even ship rory with logan
I honestly don't even know
I shipped her with dean yes until she waited until he was married but Logan friendship yes anything more I never saw it with Logan he just always seemed sweet but he reminded me more of her dad if that makes sense but the way jess called her out and lorelai love it I've always loved jess....

I know right!

In the first scenes, Jess's headmaster and Mitchum are even wearing the same outfits! Same blue shirt and nearly exactly the same pattern of tie!
You forget whatshername, Sasha's kid. She would have been this if that spinoff had happened.
@@MaricaAmbrosius She would've been "this"? Would've been what? She wasn't Jimmy's biologically... she was a lot like April is to Rory I guess!
I'm SO proud of Jess! I wished we saw more of his journey. I'm so happy his life is stable now.
Thank you so much ❤️
you can see that they still have feelings for each other in the revival. obviously you can see jess but rory also had some kind of feeling. and i feel like rory never truly fell out of love with jess, i just think that she was scared of being hurt again.
So awesome. Thank u. Have always been team Jess. The Sparks are real since they really dated
HOLY SHIT IT'S SO GOOD
Thank you so mucchhh! 😭❤️
the end.... i letterally cried😭 Jess and Rory are the defenition of ✨ Soulmates ✨
I never noticed how similar their paths were. Its truly incredible how amazingly this story line was written
I think Alexis and Milo are truly soul mates and that's why he's still single. She's the one who got away
They were perfect for each other. They deserved endgame
Good job jess.😘👏
Both rory and jess are caring people who took on the weight of the world while they basically grew up parenting themselves and parenting the adults around them as kids.
Good boy jess.👏😘
I agree both dean and jess (and logan) were toxic.
I have always been on the fence between Jess & Rory and Logan & Rory. But this video made me realize how amazing Jess and Rory really are together!
Aww, thank you so much, sweetie ❤️❤️
I NEED A HAPPY END FOR THEM, THEY MUST BE TOGETHER
I love this video with all my heart coz so many parallels I didn't realise existed. So glad Rory went through similar stuff later on because she at times gave Jess crap for the same thing coz she didn't understand him.
Also They never really spoke about their shared experience of having an absent father, it's so similar yet different which is crazy. And they both had Luke as that figure which was great
This honestly mad me emotional. Its so nice to finally see all my thoughts put into a video.
This is the best Rory and Jess video I have ever seen, and I've seen them all
this whole time, i thought dean was so much better than dean and jess, but after watching this, rory and jess supremacy.
Absolutely 💯
Ugh why is this Video stuck at 8:52 ????
I need more 😂❤️
This is a masterpiece
2:56 the way this breaks my heart every time
I loved this video so much, even the soundtrack is perfect. It cannot make sense for others, but what matter is that will always make sense for us
rory and jess are soulmates :) the parallels and everything>>>> well done!
Jess and Rory are SOULMATES they have to end up together
The show is already over tho.
You’re a genius for noticing these parallels in the first place
THIS IS INCREDIBLE holy crap I was not prepared for this at all
I'm gonna go rewatch this 100 times and cry some more
Ahaha thank you sweetie ❤️💋
This is the most beautiful edit I’ve ever seen. 😭
So many parallels between these two!! They were meant to be together ❤
You can also add when Jess was pecked by a swan and Rory got hit by the deer and nobody believed them
Why didn't they put that? Those were funny and crazy
melhor análise que já vi sobre GG. Congrats and thanks for sharing :)
did not know i was going to cry tonight
right person, wrong time :(((
Wow.
I rewatched all of Gilmore Girls December-February, which helps a lot. ;)
Jess and Rory are ENDGAME
Definition of the right person but wrong time
I think it was not the wrong time. Just Rory was so stupid.
Thank you so much, sweetie!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Well it's 8am, I'm about to start work and you just made me cry!! 🥺
They are so meant to me 💔
This is what I've been waiting for all my life, haha! Fantastic job. This is proof that it was always about Rory & Jess ♥
That Dawson’s Creek quote at the end ahh goes so well!!!!
This edit is just perfect!! I loved it! I also always loved Jess and Rory, they are the perfect match. I wanted them to be the endgame couple.
I’m crying! This has to be my favourite Gilmore Girls edit! I love Jess’ journey 🥺💖
(Side note: I hate that ppl who don’t like Jess say that he didn’t make her go back to Yale, like have they even seen the show??)
Jess is one of my favourite characters, but I am conflicted when it comes to him being with Rory.
Omg, what a well made video. I was just bawling at the end.
The most beautiful fan edits I've ever seen. I wish every girl meet her "Jess" in real life. They were perfect.
Both of them went through very similar stuff, the diferente is that Jess dealt with it in a different way than Rory, a better way, maybe it's bc everything happened way sooner for him
They were soulmates, the timing was just awful
Most of the videos I see about gilmore girls were made atleast 4 years ago. It's kind of refreshing, in a way, to see a recently made one lol. I love this video so much and thank you for convincing me even more that rory and jess are soul mates
Thank you so much 🙏❤️
I really love this video Both rory and jess totally went through the same thing but in different times in there lives 🧡🧡
I do not know if they are planning something soon about gilmore girls but that would really fill me with great happiness and if they know, please comment and inform, that this fandom did not die, neither for the series nor this wonderful couple.
you literally made me cry with the end . I loved it.
This is one of the best edits I've ever seen. Bravo, made me realize they're even more perfect for each other than I already thought.
They had such similar situations, I never notice before..
This is the best video I’ve ever seen I’m actually crying!!!
Thank you 🙏💋
November 2020 COVID-19 pandemic era. Wow, I enjoyed that! I didn’t know that I am still fangirling on Gilmore Girls and Jess and Rory!
This fanvid just blew my mind. Words can't do justice to what I feel about this video right now. It's like I always knew about this been watching and re-watching this show but what I am witnessing here from your perspective is immensely wonderful! ❤
This made me sob violently and I gotta say I love it!
This scream soulmate, dean was a good first boyfriend for Rory but I love Jess and Rory together I wish they were together. I don’t like Logan. I like how Jess was the one who gave a wake-up call to Rory when he found out that she dropped out off yale. They are perfect for each other.
Rory and Jess didn't have this deep of a connection with anyone else
Love this 100% this why I will always be team Jess they are soulmates, they've inspire one another. In my mind, they end up together somehow.
We all love how they used the scene where she's crying about Paul anka
I knew from the title/thumbnail I would love this but seriously, wow!! Great work 😊
Editing to add that 1:05-1:16 is particularly exquisite!
Thank you so much, dear ❤️😘
🤯 My Mind was literally just BLOWN! How did I miss some of these parallels??!
.. They don’t seem at first glance to have the longest or strongest story line because it’s broken up into pieces. But I’ve always wanted them to end up together.
.. it’s very interesting as I’m watching this and realizing that I am probably partially Team Jess because of these subconscious parallels that translate as familiarity that I find as an indication that they belong together.
This was Very well made. Thank you for the time and effort into making this.
This is beautiful. I always believed they were made for each other but seeing it like this truly made it seem so clear. I love the links so much
