- A Celebration of the life of disability rights advocate Kate Garrison. Kate was a fierce advocate for those who could not advocate for themselves who was respected on both sides of the political aisle. Thanks to our speakers Plano Mayor John Muns, Collin County Elections Administrator Bruce Sherbet, and state Rep. Jessica Gonzalez. Thanks to former Plano Mayor Harry LaRosiliere, state Rep. Jeff Leach, Sylvia Moodley, Dollie Thomas, David Evans, Tamara Thomas, Steve Spainhouer, Kimberley O'Neill, Plano City Councilman Anthony Ricciardelli, Julie Espinoza, and Tom Adair for the remembrance videos and John M. Stafford and Dylan Rafaty for organizing the event.
If you would like to make a donation in Kate’s name please give to REACH of North Texas to provide services for people with disabilities in Tarrant, Dallas, Denton and Collin Counties so that they are able to lead self-directed lives and to educate the general public about disability-related topics in order to promote a barrier free community.
