Nah it showed that a premade 3 stack that was top 3 all season with 9k combined hours shouldn’t play against teams with content creators who never played the game before for a 50k cash prize. Rigged
Embark is full of ex-Dice developers, yet the idea of a Rush-like mode hasn't crossed their mind even when coming up with TA. In Rush, there are attackers and defenders, which means no third-partying. In Rush, once the attackers win an objective, the match moves to the next stage of the map, hence no pace slowing through a loadout screen (the pace being an issue in TA). In Rush, defenders have unlimited spawn tickets, which means that attackers must always play an objective instead of making the mode a TDM.
Oh my god. I can’t think of a single counter argument as it would be perfect for this game. Specializations would need to be limited or even add a max amount to light heavy mediums to combat camping cashouts
@@julio1148 Of course they must've brainstormed it with tons of other ideas, it's just this makes sense to me more than a generic S&D mode. Even more surprising it's from a studio that has invented the Cashout mode.
It's weird to assume that they haven't thought of it. It's very likely that they will try it in a future event or season. They need to save SOME ideas to keep the game fresh
Been playing world tour a lot this season on Asian servers. The third party strategy is so used, that some teams will even run double light and medium so that they can just go around quicker to pick on fights. I accept that third partying is a part of Cashout at it's current state, but I would like to see another respawn based game mode that would be as equally fun to play both casually and competitively.
it's so interesting to me how playstyle and team composition changes so much in each region. I've seen screen caps form EU servers where most players are light. in my NA servers most play medium, and varying quantities of light and heavy
I have been playing since January and play light 90-95% of the time in non-ranked game modes. I naturally learned this tactic playing on US servers, as an American myself, because I found myself constantly paired with another light and medium. Whenever I get a match with another good light, or both a good light and medium, I always make sure to spam other peoples cashouts when ours is at the point that they would not respawn fast enough to make it and steal. My bad habit of always checking the scoreboard in counterstrike helps a lot when it comes to micromanaging which teams are weaker, and who I should spam for my teammates to attack. But it can get boring winning all the time because you constantly third and fourth-party people, at least to me, so that is the main reason I stopped playing ranked. Im not good enough to fight plats and diamonds who decide you are going to be this matches feast, especially when you only play light.
1000% agree. Even playing the placement matches was a complete torture. It felt as if we were playing a fan-made custom gamemode that somehow became the main mode of the game. Cashout chaos is way more adrenaline rushed and exciting than 5v5 on a huge map with no lanes and random enemy placement.
I usually agree with ottr but not this time. First of all, as other pointed out, twitch rivals was not really balanced in terms of skill levels. If anything, if team Gigz didn't win with a decent margin, there could have been an argument that luck plays a much bigger role than skill. What happened instead was that the team with the deepest understanding of high level play and strategy was ultimately rewarded, as it should be. Secondly, gigz team kinda found themselves sort of "smurfing" into a tournament in which teams where shabbily put together. It's not a good case to analyze and whichever data you extract from it is not really reliable. Question is: what happens if a team doesn't follow what others expect them to do? What happens if a team waits for a thirdparty that will never occur? All of a sudden, the best strategy means nothing and the time constraint will always force the hand of those that think they can just wait. This to me only indicates how immature the cashout mode still is in terms of tactics. What we're mostly seeing is the lack of players with a strategic mindset but with good aim.
I agree with this. I am not a great shooter but I win a lot because I play smart. This game mode is awesome because it isn't just the best shooter, you need tactics. Ottr isnt good at losing and gets a bit butt-hurt when he gets hammered like this tournament - but I do like his unapologetic competitiveness. 😊
I just wanted to say I've played matches where people have done that. Waited for the third party thar never came and man is it awkward. I'm not the best shot so I understand having to play smarter than harder. I've been on both ends of the Mexican stand off type games and it's either payed off for the defending team because no one attacked or didn't attack with enough time and I've had other games where I just walked in an took the objective and wiped because of a suddenly flury of activity. I was diamond 4 last season to if that helps. I don't know how to make this mode any better though because none of the options seem great
@@Major_K_2the chaos is what I want. Destruction and chaos with 3rd parties make for great game play. But that is a preference and why I think this game is more interesting than standard shooters. The idea of competitive shooters being less rigid, and more about adapting is where I want comp FPS to go.
@@nochancecw I absolutely agree with you - a big part of why I think CO does make great ranked/comp gameplay IS the chaos. But this Twitch Rivals tourney surely proved that it's not all luck, cause the best guys won? I think the fact that there is no 'right answer' to every scenario happening, makes for very entertaining gameplay because as a spectator you're never 100% sure what's happening next.
3rd party gameplay is part of what makes the game so exciting tbh. I can see how once you get to a high enough competitive situation then it can be abused but for normal casual gameplay its completely fine
In asian server, we not only get 3rd partied but, sometimes also get 4th partied. Shameless 4th team comes out of nowhere and gets all the money. And here I am with my bros back to back defeated 2 teams already and we are exhausted
I'd agree with you, but I really like the idea of the finals as a game of combat and skills prowess rather than precisely timed strategy with only combat being relevant at the last moments of someone else's fight... I think the vid where he plays in asia servers accentuates that to the degree where you can see flaws in that philosophy.
I don’t understand why you guys think rotating in a timely manner to shit on a team half health from a previous fight is some 200iq big brain strategizing. It’s not hard. I’ve been on both sides of third partying, and both sides make me feel like shit. This is why it’s hard to convince Cash Out players to move on. Playing like rats and justifying it with increased intelligence is hard to argue with. Cash Out and the people who want it to be competitive will be the death of this game. TLDR: Cash out sucks. It’s gonna kill the game.
Twitch rivals showed need for solo queue only mode with how much odds are stacked in favor of teams that constantly play together. Most people don't get that benefit which may explain why cash out hasn't led to player retention, and it was best displayed how much RNG there is for even great players playing with random teammates.
@-The-Golden-God- Or, maybe it can attract more people in because they know they'll have better odds of not getting rolled? I personally know of a couple of people who don't play because of stacks and "smurfs" even in the casual playlist...
@@Solcres_Joa I'm afraid that it's far too late for that; the damage has been done. It would require a revamp of the entire game (including a robust anti-cheat) to reverse the hemorrhaging. Ranked play makes up a small percentage of the playerbase, so any change is inconsequential.
I agree, as someone said. Instead of getting the chashout's money at the end of the time. Should it instead slowly give you money, during the time you defend your cashout. That makes it more worthwhile to have a cashout and defend it.
i think the ratting could be resolved by : 1- big deposit bonus & 2- not giving all the money at the end of the time, but give half of it over time and the rest at the end. Last minute steals should still be viable but not the go to
that wouldn't be viable as then going to fight a cashout will be useless rather than camping at map center and waiting for the next cashbox and gatwaying it to the next cashout
@@tempestios8297 you get half it over time and the other half when it’s done. Would be good for the game and split the money up more making games closer rather than close outs.
@@GaaraFPS you’re missing the point, no one is saying you aren’t allowed to voice your opinion, people are saying you *shouldn’t* voice it in a way that is detrimental to the very game you’re trying to improve. I think twitch rivals exposed the problem with having absurdly lopsided teams, but the concept of multi team is honestly a significant part of the appeal to me in the game (in terms of a comp shooter at least). It may not be the fairest design inherently, but that’s what balancing is for. Even with it being unbalanced I’ve reached diamond since closed beta 2 without fail and loved the experience, while acknowledging it does have balance concerns as a mode. As for balancing it, I think cash from each cashout could provide a constant flow of money while you control it, but with half of it being attached to whoever had it at the end. This would incentivize both keeping control but also to be the one to finish it off, removing some of the incentive for 3rd partying while keeping the excitement of that last minute capture. The other option instead of constant cash being added is some tick based system, like every 10 seconds or 30 seconds it provides a chunk of money. This being said I do think it’s best if there is a bonus to the end of the box. During closed beta 1 vaults would drain cash in the last minute of the match to reduce the bad experience of being reverse swept, but it ironically made the game much less interesting. That last minute was often a waste of time, as both teams knew the game was over, but there was nothing to do but wait for the clock to run out. Keeping that potential comeback alive benefits the game’s pacing as a whole, but I think allowing some amount of that money to come during the capture process would reduce the frustration around getting stolen at the last second. It hurts a lot less if you both ended with 5k instead of the last minute steak getting 10k. While there is a solid argument that they should only have two teams for the most fair experience, fair doesn’t necessarily mean fun and vice versa. Multi team allows for comebacks, and for example allowed that amazing reverse sweep during the rivals event where gigz team lost basically everything in the last 10 seconds due to mistakes they made as a team, allowing the last place team to make a comeback to first. In terms of balance maybe not awesome, but from a spectator perspective and as an esport it’s incredible. That’s what I think embark is having a hard time with here. I’d be curious to see a fairer tournament happen (as in teams that are actually at the same level), but I think many of the complaints are valid.
@@borari he got cooked and tilted by bad team balancing (losing thousands in the process), but cashout is also not inherently balanced. He isn’t wrong, even if rivals was a worst case scenario
What a balanced and well put response. I completely agree and like to add that a change like that would require a lot less "fine tuning" on the dev side. I love this game and most of all the game modes (yes even TA and bank it). And as another player, honestly speaking: If I knew Ottr was playing in any match where I was, I would put him under, every chance I got. Not because I hate him or because of wanting to grief his team but because that removed the risk of him dogging me later on. It's just business baby 😎🤌
there is a reason why other twitch rivals always have rules about team building like as example in lol its often only 1 Challenger in every team but ofc embark is even to dumb to host a twitch rivals
it's wild that everyone's experience is that different... I haven't noticed in my 300 hours of playing in diamond that third partying was that big an issue. Fighting the un-contested cashout was always the smarter move in my experience. i also came from apex, and i would say the 3rd partying is so much worse there, since most the times you know where enemies are, you can hear them fighting. I have so many other points i would mention before third partying, when talking about negatives with the current state of The Finals.
I feel you third partying but ultimately because I don't like the battle Royale format is what made me walk away from Apex, Surviving a third party in the finals is much more plausible because Apex became too much about abilities, The only thing I think I need to do is break the cash out into 3 parts, You get 20% of the money when you deposit a cash box, You get 50% of the money when the cash out is 75% complete but you have to touch the cash out to get the money( This would stop teams from trying to third party too much) Then you would get the last 30% of the cash out money for the last 25% of time the cash out has left
I think u just never meet 1 squad friends who just aim for last 1-2 min to 3rd party 3rd party is much easier when u see leaderboard and both team losing 1-2 teammates Contesting with uncontested Cash out means u need breakthrough their defense set up while 3rd party, both all out their gadget making it easier to steal
The only issue with cashout/World Tour is not enough ppl playing it, it sux getting 3 stack sweat lobbies solo-quing with teammates about to findout they weren't ready to come out of the quickcash oven... But if there's enough ppl playing to balance SBMM it's not an issue. TA can suck a fat one IMO
Maybe to counter the third party issue would be to gain some HP when killing a whole team? Maybe 60 HP for the whole team after the game recognizes that “team #1” kill the 3 members of “team #2”
@@cloudboy08 That's not the solution, because then teams go 2 L 1 M and run around third partying everyone, then they get through to the next round without ever having cashed out, in a cash out game mode.
Ive been playing TA ranked with my homies and we all enjoy it more then WT or cashout. We dont grind it, because of the new systems for giving points seems inconsistent (we won 3 games in a row got a total of 2100 points just to lose the next game and 1200 points 😅)
Nah, I dont buy it. If we go this way I could make the argument that there's a VERY simple way to make sure not to get 3rd party in the game: be the 4th party. I mean get creative people. Bring the second box to A that has already started instead of going B. If one team is so strong make them fight everyone. Maybe starting a second cashout on B when A is almost finished isnt the best idea. Leaving the cashout you've started to the profit of the number one team to go start another one could also be a valid strategy as you're making sure you're the second team with the most money by opening boxes and starting cashouts. I could go on and on... but hey I guess rats will use rats strats to win, and tunnel vision players will tunnel vision. (edit) Also, I would add World Tour already fixed one major issue of ranked cashout: it gave the money extracted a meaning as it is now the metric used for the leaderboard. In old ranked cashout the team with the most money had no incentive to keep fighting for more money past a certain point of the game. Now they do. Although the fact the game mode isnt ranked anymore probably has a little bit to do with that too, people get more creative, they allow themselves to be more playfull and try more crazy things.
It's not just targetting though, sometimes teams just happen to go to a point because it's closer, or they think they don't have enough time, etc. One thing I saw a lot lately is if someone starts a cashout late, when the first one ends, you get ALL FOUR TEAMS at the second one. It's just luck / RNG. Cash out has never been that competitively viable and this is obvious, everyone has had matches where they get third partied or nobody attacks them.
no, its timing. Dont start a cashout on B when A is already passed half the time. Just go fight for A, or even bring the second boxe to A. Sometimes you dont even need to win a cashout to win the game, just make sure the number 1 team have them all. Sometimes you win by wiping enemy teams so they lose money. Somtimes you win because of small amount of money gain on kills, opening boxes, or starting cashouts.
The first problem isn't an issue with Cashout but an issue with the ranking system. A team consisting of all diamond ranked players should in theory be better than platinum players. Embarks ranking system pairs you up with lower ranked players and somehow it's an issue with Cashout? No. You say that was a huge discrepancy in skills when you played the tournament but it makes sense since you have one team consisting of the top ranked players versus other teams consisting of casual players. This is not an issue with the game mode itself, but an issue with how the tournament is set up.
If there’s a stacked tournament lobby third partying would not be relevant because most teams would value fighting a 3v3 instead of waiting for someone else to make the first move and then have no time to win a cashout.
Third party wouldn't be so much of an issue if this game had proper sound. You can't even hear a heavys charge for fks sake 💀 The game feels incomplete for competitive players.
no it is. there are teams that will sit in one spot and wait till the end to 3rd party and cap. i've had matches where teams werent touching vaults. that is bs and no way shape or form of comp.
@@rogueTF2recon senses was also objectively wall hacks, and was so powerful that it was effectively required to have at higher ranks. It also dramatically lowered the skill ceiling since you could see where everyone was all the time.
I remember the first time I played against Gigz in ranked. Recon sense was pre nerf and his stack was quite literally 1 magging us from 150m away, was a truly humbling experience.
I like the idea of the cashout taking longer. But I think having only one at some point is good. With tiebreaking vaults spawning in at timed intervals so a team can't decide to just timeout with an objective lead.
For make a cash out like mode competitive must make the mode like the final round of the tournament but a 5 vs 5 where the first team to reach 70000 coin wins, a the end of the cash out the teams respown in opposite place of the map, every 6 round the map regenerade and the match begun with 2 coin and each round all player gain a coin.
The way to deal with a third party is to make sure you’re not the team in the center so when you notice a new team entering your fight reposition as a team to a position where the new team is not fighting you then heal up and become the third party even when defending a point give them the objective room as long as they’re fighting no one is gonna cap it
Health siphon in some form could fix a lot of the third party issues. It doesn’t even have to be a flat health given, it could even be instant health regen instead of the 7-10 seconds.
just hiding the enemy info in the leaderboard until the game ends would already be a pretty nice change. Also when the game shows all the players, it shouldn't show their guns, since you can know who got diamond by their gun.
3v3v3v3 is asking for professional/proam focus+avoidance drama. its a literal nonsense box strapped to a nuclear reactor that you can never shut down. it is the least competitive idea i have ever heard of cause everyone knows the best decision is to sometimes(often actually) avoid teams. its as simple as 3 teams understanding they are not as good and taking the coin flip on advancing. it WILL happen.
that's a terrible idea, you lose so much information, like who on the enemy teams is actually a threat, how many revive tokens they have left, the classes that each team is using, and don't know if you mean to hide it too but how much money each team has so you know who to wipe if you're behind.
@@BloodySharkMonster facts... why would you want to hide statistics & being able to see who you play against... like that literally makes no sense, I want to see what everybody purchased or earned, stop trying to water down the finals
I've been telling this since my first play test of this game. Make the cashouts give small money in intervals (like 1k every 3 seconds) to whoever is currently controlling it. If it gets stolen, the previous team would still have their time's worth. Make every second of the cashout important, this way ratting will be punished because if you wait for the final moments to steal the cashout you will get less money. Maybe do half the vault's money like I said and the other half just give to the team who finished the cashout. I'm a game developer/designer by trade and I saw this design flaw after my first few matches. A competitive arena shooter like this should never encourage its players to avoid encounters and hide.
Maybe you're good at making games but do not know that it's what makes the finals thrilling, what you are describing is a hardpoint gamemode which is already there in cod.If i wanted to play cod i'll download cod.
@@tempestios8297 cod hardpoint was not the first implementation of this type of game modes, and won't be the last. What I described isn't even the same as hardpoint. you still have to get the vault and deposit it and you don't need to stay in the objective area to keep control of it. This is just one path to fix what's wrong with the competitiveness of the game mode. Not everyone has to like my idea, hell even I may agree it's bad once I see it's implemented. But the truth is, the current cashout mode is not a fun competitive experience as it encourages hiding, avoiding encounters and third partying too much. If you think it's fine the way it is then I don't see the point in arguing since we have different visions :)
@@tempestios8297bro all he did was give a suggestion and it’s not even a bad one you must be one of the rats waiting to 3rd Party every cash out like a fckn loser
Well we knew about those issues long before the tournament, in fact because of the equally distributed compensation and points system the tournament was more balanced than the ranked matchmaking, because suddenly top team doesn’t have that big of a motivation to choose their next opponent in the final round and suddenly 3rd place also matters. I was not surprised to see performance of ottr on the tournament, making smurfs and beating golds for content and playing as a team with top 10 stacks it is completely different experience. You have to have a feeling of your team after many hours and they have to be really good as well, having just good aim is not enough. I would say that your performance was really good in the tournament. In TA not many kills happens, but each kill weigh much more than in cashout.
The matchmaking on this game is broke sometimes, and the 4th round being removed from ranked in S2 also made ranking up seem easier resulting in lower skilled players placing in higher ranks. Some full high plat/ low diamond lobbies felt like mid gold
The Finals needs Siphon on full team wipes. Would promote more aggressive play as opposed to sitting in corners and would allow your team to then turn around and immediately deal with the third party.
I love the free choice in the finals, that u can do whatever u want. I think u could work around this issue, if u at some parts of other games. E.g if u whipe a team u get all cooldowns reset
I think third partying is not that big of a problem. It's an extra layer of complexity to the game. A lot of these discussions tend to focus on wiping a team. You don't necessarily need to do that to win the objective. As long as you have a strong position and composition, you can last long enough to get a cashout.
You defo right in some of what u saying however; Gigz team would still destroy if they got targeted. Their macros, teamplay and skill wasn't gonna get beaten. (watch coolcheese/balise/sixsaw from when they were pushing for #1 s2 for insane meta redefining macros) If you watched the breakout tournement (a few weeks ago?) you'll see the third partying strat got punished hard, because it was two teams waiting to third and the teams holding the vault got it most of the times. If you played a 50k tournement in TA. You would absolutely despise the meta/gamemode. Way more then comp cashout. However its a tough one to balance cashout sadly..
terminal attack is also not balanced for competitive. I would rather play seige or val for 5 vs 5 bomb with abilities. It's fun sure, but not suitable for comp
I'd prefer if all or most of the gamemodes were tuned to be competitive, to have multiple gamemodes in a competitive mode. I like objective based shooters, I like the variety most of them have with multiple gamemodes. This one tends to lack that. The gamemodes are there, but only one is encouraged, and it shifts around which one that is.
I think the fix is to make opening the cash box worth 5000 and starting a cash-out worth 5000. This would make contesting each stage of a cash-out mandatory in order to win. Don't make kills worth more that would only make the issue of people not playing the objectives worse.
No thats so dumb, those stages are very spawn dependent and require far less skill to do, a gateway dash light could probably solo qual with good positioning
I like your videos but this is a terrible defense for the ranked changes, the entire argument is based on the idea that teams avoid/focus particularly skilled or outranked players. But that problem has nothing to do with cashout. That was entirely because embarks ranking algorithm sucked, fixing the ranking algorithm wouldve fixed this and mitigated the effectiveness third partying as a result. I also do not believe embark when they say cashout is still the main mode, because if it was why did the S3 trailer open with a team of 5 instead of 3? Why did embark devs, who are supposedly very in touch with the community, decide to announce it with text that appeared in the trailer for less than 5 seconds? Something about the change seems very fishy to me… if i had to guess, this was a nexon decision in an attempt to gain more players, and when embark realized the shitstorm they were in, they quickly made an announcement saying they were still “considering” restoring cashout next season.
First take I’ve agreed with you since season 3! I understand you don’t like TA which is fine, not my favorite mode either but the ranked mode does need to be changed so it is more competitive! I’m hoping the new changes they do make that happen! I still think the cashout paying out over time instead of all at once would be one of the biggest fixes for this but I understand it would prevent the last 2nd steals that give everyone such a large adrenaline rush!
The way to solve this in cash out is to reward the team who has the current cash out points every 20 seconds. This way the third party doesn’t get the full amount if stolen last second, and teams get rewarded for holding down the objective. It’s a win win. You open vault for 1000 Deposit for 2000 Every 20 seconds = 1500 If you steal its 3000 on top of the time remaining… Also kills should be more points. Maybe 400 each. So many games where the dominant team with a lot of kills loses or doesn’t qualify because they got third party by a trash team. So again. Reward teams for holding down a cash out and more points per kill. Other ideas: Make spawns faster. Create spawn points that you jump into the arena from the sky or even a sky palace with jumó pads that everyone spawns in but cannot be killed until they jump off of it. Jump pads will be there to travel to whatever area you want faster.
I love cashout. But I prefer quick cashout with 1 objective 3 teams. Would love to see tournament be 3 groups of 3 teams, top 2 teams move on, than next round is 2 group of 3 teams with winner going to finals. One objective in my opinion really helps team fights break down better and smoother. i really do love quick cashout.
I do understand why TA is better for competitive. What I dont get is why embark didnt improve and change cashout to make it more competitive instead of doing that for TA
Cashout* isn’t what makes The Finals unique. When they’d remove silly movement tech at the same time as adding stuff like ads bloom, it definitely makes it feel a lot less unique.
I think older twitch rivals had the same issue when it came to stacking op teams versus causal streamers Im sure russian badger a youtuber who played in a R6 siege twitch rivals talked about this issue where it was a team of high level players and former comp champions vs some gold team
Here's an idea: create an invisible radius around the cashout when the cashbox is deposited. This radius will detect how many teams are inside of it. When the game detects more than two teams are inside the radius, the third team entering it will receive some sort of de-buff. Maybe reduced health. This will discourage players from entering the radius, and therefore third-partying.
I seen a competitive cash tourney in finals what tney did was 3 rounds on 3 different maps of just 1v1 team cashout so no 3rd party just 2 teams going at it in cash out
3v3 with role lock. You can't balance between classes, so limit how many each team can have. It's how every other single hero shooter evolved. Look at OW, it had a 6-Tracer meta until they introduced role lock. You can already select which build you want before you queue, and you can make it so that you queue as that role too.
Terminal Attack is SO boring! This game has no future if they're banking on that game mode. Its basically just a 5v5 tactical shooter but with maps not designed for tactical play and you're stuck with only one weapon.
I think the reason they are getting so much flak for it is because Cashout is what the game touted the whole time and Terminal Attack is much closer to other competitive shooters so it isn’t the different game mode that brought players to it. With that said, I’ve played since the first week of release and I don’t play Cashout anymore. I %100 enjoy Terminal Attack and Power Shift (though less than terminal attack) more than Cashout. I Cashout briefly in ranked and it just wasn’t as fun as I wanted it to be. And the ranked does kind of suffer from needing a team to be able to do well. I play with 2 friends and together we do pretty good, so Cashout is really the only option for us and I never enjoyed it like I think I should’ve. But now I enjoy Terminal Attack but I have to run with 2 randoms which means communication is shot and we play with a disadvantage starting off. It’s rather rough to want to see where I rank when it really isn’t going to show me where I actually land since the teams I play with will determine that and I play scouting. So I don’t kill a lot I just let the team know where enemies are and then get into the fight once majority of enemies are at a spot. So I don’t come out with stat block conducive to a great player.
Ok so question: if they were gifted the cash outs in the games you were in… why didn’t you challenge them? Why didn’t you even the odds instead of getting third partied?
This season the only modes I played are power shift and would tour. That’s exactly what happens on Asian servers, we dunk it and stay at a safe distance let the other teams fight and wait, stop others from capturing and 3rd party any low hp players.
I just hope people would give constructive criticisms instead of sending the devs unalive threats...I mean, Embark is clearly listening. It just takes time to implement these changes. It's so hard to be a gaming dev nowadays...
True, they are doing the best to listen people, balance the game and bring more players to The Finals, but the community still arguing about if LH1 got nerfed or "erase terminal attack"
It should have been a full game of pros, or a full game of variety streamers, not a mix, that is what seems so baffling to me, as it is obvious who would win
there are no pros in finals only high elo players! the differenz between a pro and a high elo player is crazy big you can see it in lol! gigz is way to bad to be a pro every real pro would stomp.him with ez alone gigz aim way to bad for a real pro if you look at other games
Yes I agree! I love the dynamic this chaos brings but humans are analytical meaning if you're gunning for the win in competitive, setting aside morals... You'd best third party all the way... Plus, people are people everyone would opt for the third party strategy. Even myself, playing solo with randoms I always seem to prefer staying out of conflict just to progress to the next round. - casuals I didn't care but in tournament and WT all I cared was about progressing to the next round which meant avoiding unnecessary battles, taking out weak team to secure our own position... Plus more than often the stronger team always comes in and messes with the three or two struggling team when they've secured enough $$$$$$... I agress with ottr, I just hope in trying to make cashout viable for competitive, it doesn't get boring trying to balance... Which has high chances... Kinda like you can't have it all... What does the community want? An explosive game mode which may not be great for competitive (ranked) or a ironed out mode for competitive which might be less dynamic because of balancing for ranked That's embark's dilemma - we gotta support the Devs and the game- this is not an easy fix and listening to individual player's I like this class so buff and hate this class so nerf. We gotta remember embark's dev teams always make great sandbox game that encourages creative gameplay. That's what the gaming world needs and the masses don't always understand what's good for them or the greater community. Let's patiently wait for the team to cook... I trust embark.
This why quick cash is king 👑 wish they would make a quick cash tournament; have 3 sets going and the three winners of the first round go to the finals 🎉
if you would grind Diamond, any of these will no be any sort of "EXPOSURE". I was always the issue from the game release date when teams were not balanced so Diamond has every round for free and 3rd-p was the best choice especially if you play in a party. If you are a solo player - you are fucked
S1 silver getting paired with unranked 😭😭 cmon Embark I think multiple teams fighting over 1 objective there’s only so much you can do about that as in regular cashout you could argue the same tbh. Maybe limit how much you earn if the team that steals last in ranked mode 🤷♂️
I watched like an hour of rivals from aceus stream who normally plays like a madman with his aim but because of the teams playing like 2 heavy instant burst rpgs they force to play safer and gigs team dominated every one because he is the only knows how to play that meta. Other than that I think TA is not the way to fix ranked or maybe it is but right now it is far from being a fun game mod and balanced game mod.
Nah it showed that a premade 3 stack that was top 3 all season with 9k combined hours shouldn’t play against teams with content creators who never played the game before for a 50k cash prize. Rigged
this also just happens in the vast majority of pre s3 ranked games

A BF Style Rush mode would be awesome for this game.
What makes you think it hasnt crossed their mind?
Asian regions are notorious for no honour type strategy, apparently cheating over there is weirdly encouraged.
Bank it?
3rd partying is a big problem BUT terminal attack is just way worse. I rather get 3rd partied than die because of boredom.
I agree tbh
1000% agree. Even playing the placement matches was a complete torture. It felt as if we were playing a fan-made custom gamemode that somehow became the main mode of the game.
Cashout chaos is way more adrenaline rushed and exciting than 5v5 on a huge map with no lanes and random enemy placement.
You all lack skill. Terminal attack is peak skill and ability. Bet you suck at search and destroy too.
No other captain with a 3 Stack from Season 2 was invited. Only the team that placed first was 🤔
In asian server, we not only get 3rd partied but, sometimes also get 4th partied. Shameless 4th team comes out of nowhere and gets all the money. And here I am with my bros back to back defeated 2 teams already and we are exhausted
Really hoping they create something amazing for competitive play and viewing. The finals world cup with big orgs playing would be cool to watch
The third partying forces you to strategize more. I think The Finals high-level competitive turning into 4D chess is a good thing.
Man I would looove a solo queue mode for ranked and quickplay mode. Maybe even do a stacked queue as well for those that want to play on even terms 🤔
Unfortunately, the playerbase is far too small for a solo queue mode.
@-The-Golden-God- I see you're one of those guys. Wellp I guess there's no hope, huh?
I agree, as someone said. Instead of getting the chashout's money at the end of the time. Should it instead slowly give you money, during the time you defend your cashout. That makes it more worthwhile to have a cashout and defend it.
i think the ratting could be resolved by : 1- big deposit bonus & 2- not giving all the money at the end of the time, but give half of it over time and the rest at the end. Last minute steals should still be viable but not the go to
You might be on to something. It would make it way more of a challenge and purpose to bank a cash out yourself. Would be some pretty cool fights too,
that wouldn't be viable as then going to fight a cashout will be useless rather than camping at map center and waiting for the next cashbox and gatwaying it to the next cashout

I feel you third partying but ultimately because I don't like the battle Royale format is what made me walk away from Apex, Surviving a third party in the finals is much more plausible because Apex became too much about abilities, The only thing I think I need to do is break the cash out into 3 parts,
You get 20% of the money when you deposit a cash box, You get 50% of the money when the cash out is 75% complete but you have to touch the cash out to get the money( This would stop teams from trying to third party too much) Then you would get the last 30% of the cash out money for the last 25% of time the cash out has left
I think u just never meet 1 squad friends who just aim for last 1-2 min to 3rd party
3rd party is much easier when u see leaderboard and both team losing 1-2 teammates
Contesting with uncontested Cash out means u need breakthrough their defense set up while 3rd party, both all out their gadget making it easier to steal
I think hp buff should be percentage because 60 hp for light its awesome but for heavy its nothing
No the solution is more money from kills and less from cashouts
Full hp restored and all cool downs reset and every teammate respawned at full health instantly would be awesome to deter third parties.
@@cloudboy08 That's not the solution, because then teams go 2 L 1 M and run around third partying everyone, then they get through to the next round without ever having cashed out, in a cash out game mode.
Cash should be distributed on a time basis in quarters. So if its 2 mins of holding for 10k, 1/4 of holding would reward 2.5k in 30 seconds.
I guess Embark could counter ratting by adding bonuses if the defending team is in the proximity of the cashout box
@@m.poppins4843 Timing is definitely part of it yes but let's say you don't get the cash out, then the timing is beyond your control

We need a 6v6 cash out tournament ‼️‼️‼️‼️ make the cashout capture times longer and then possibly still have 2 cashout stations and 2 cashboxes

This is just one path to fix what's wrong with the competitiveness of the game mode. Not everyone has to like my idea, hell even I may agree it's bad once I see it's implemented. THE FINALS should be the finals. Final round only, teamVteam only
Nope, 3v3 cashout is not a good mode either.
Really hope this game can do well. I feel like it has good potential
The matchmaking on this game is broke sometimes, and the 4th round being removed from ranked in S2 also made ranking up seem easier resulting in lower skilled players placing in higher ranks. Some full high plat/ low diamond lobbies felt like mid gold
All you can do to counter third parties is just get your Team to reset and hope that the third party starts to go for the villain
The Finals needs Siphon on full team wipes. Would promote more aggressive play as opposed to sitting in corners and would allow your team to then turn around and immediately deal with the third party.
Thanks for this video ottr. I absolutely hate third partying in any competitive games.

@@ShootFirstNS correct. 💀
I think third partying is not that big of a problem. It's an extra layer of complexity to the game.
A lot of these discussions tend to focus on wiping a team. You don't necessarily need to do that to win the objective. As long as you have a strong position and composition, you can last long enough to get a cashout.
We need a power shift tournament
You defo right in some of what u saying however;
Gigz team would still destroy if they got targeted. Their macros, teamplay and skill wasn't gonna get beaten. (watch coolcheese/balise/sixsaw from when they were pushing for #1 s2 for insane meta redefining macros)
If you watched the breakout tournement (a few weeks ago?) you'll see the third partying strat got punished hard, because it was two teams waiting to third and the teams holding the vault got it most of the times.
If you played a 50k tournement in TA. You would absolutely despise the meta/gamemode. Way more then comp cashout.
However its a tough one to balance cashout sadly..
Gigs team were nearly beat by lyrics team in 3for3 duels
terminal attack is also not balanced for competitive.
Yeah. exactly why quick cash should be that ranked.
I think the fix is to make opening the cash box worth 5000 and starting a cash-out worth 5000. This would make contesting each stage of a cash-out mandatory in order to win. Don't make kills worth more that would only make the issue of people not playing the objectives worse.
No thats so dumb, those stages are very spawn dependent and require far less skill to do, a gateway dash light could probably solo qual with good positioning
would have watched more of this video if you didn't reuse gameplay footage from another video - kinda put me off
I like your videos but this is a terrible defense for the ranked changes, the entire argument is based on the idea that teams avoid/focus particularly skilled or outranked players.
You open vault for 1000
Deposit for 2000
Every 20 seconds = 1500
If you steal its 3000 on top of the time remaining…
Also kills should be more points. Maybe 400 each.
So many games where the dominant team with a lot of kills loses or doesn’t qualify because they got third party by a trash team.
So again. Reward teams for holding down a cash out and more points per kill.
Other ideas:
Make spawns faster.
Create spawn points that you jump into the arena from the sky or even a sky palace with jumó pads that everyone spawns in but cannot be killed until they jump off of it. Jump pads will be there to travel to whatever area you want faster.
I mean i don’t think I fully agree with this. This is a very small sample size . Relatively, the game is still new.
I love cashout. But I prefer quick cashout with 1 objective 3 teams. Would love to see tournament be 3 groups of 3 teams, top 2 teams move on, than next round is 2 group of 3 teams with winner going to finals. One objective in my opinion really helps team fights break down better and smoother. i really do love quick cashout.
yo, I have been watching you since apex and I love ur content.
I think older twitch rivals had the same issue when it came to stacking op teams versus causal streamers Im sure russian badger a youtuber who played in a R6 siege twitch rivals talked about this issue where it was a team of high level players and former comp champions vs some gold team
thats why there.are normaly rules for team building like in lol only 1 challlenger per team and so on
That twitch rivals was pretty buns. I could've ran a better more fair tournament
this is what the devs were tryna solve by removing ranked cash out
Here's an idea: create an invisible radius around the cashout when the cashbox is deposited. This radius will detect how many teams are inside of it. When the game detects more than two teams are inside the radius, the third team entering it will receive some sort of de-buff. Maybe reduced health. This will discourage players from entering the radius, and therefore third-partying.
nah
Mmmm, the looby will be full of people with bows and sniper, erasing each team and then do the cash out in the last second.
I seen a competitive cash tourney in finals what tney did was 3 rounds on 3 different maps of just 1v1 team cashout so no 3rd party just 2 teams going at it in cash out
Was it fun to watch?
@@julio1148 i would say so different tactics each fight/round no 3rd parties all team and tactics based so very competitive
@@HimR7 yeah I’m curious about it honestly
@@julio1148 look up piggy 3v3 the finals you can watch it yourself
let the audience, or judges, vote on the coolest plays. the finals is about flashy plays and cool gimmicks. ranked is and will always be a meme
Conclusion nerf heavy
Conclusion remove heavy’s arms and legs
LOL yes
Ikr buff light a tad bit to
@@getinthevan9958changing the health pools would uneavenly change the ttk of every weapon in the game
@@getinthevan9958 heavy isnt op, if anything light is op with the new 7sec cd life regen in cashout. Yes, it is that strong if you play correctly.
With a bigger player base this problem would probably vanish
Very true...
nope 😂 was still a problem before, you are just a robot with no logical thinking process
Mines and healing help a ton with 3rd parties.
who else think heavy build is overpowered
They literally got nerfed?
Ok so question: if they were gifted the cash outs in the games you were in… why didn’t you challenge them? Why didn’t you even the odds instead of getting third partied?
i love world tour so far and cashout is still fun but thats definitely shitty behind the rivals matchmaking doesnt sound too fair
was the worst twitch rivals i know... every twitch rivals has multiple rules for team building but not embark bc they are the worst and dumbest devs
This season the only modes I played are power shift and would tour.
That’s exactly what happens on Asian servers, we dunk it and stay at a safe distance let the other teams fight and wait, stop others from capturing and 3rd party any low hp players.
I think the Finals could try to copy Arenas from Apex with the CS/Valo type buying menu
*Quick cash had entered the chat*
Nice to see myself playing with you in team
It should have been a full game of pros, or a full game of variety streamers, not a mix, that is what seems so baffling to me, as it is obvious who would win
there are no pros in finals only high elo players! the differenz between a pro and a high elo player is crazy big you can see it in lol! gigz is way to bad to be a pro every real pro would stomp.him with ez alone gigz aim way to bad for a real pro if you look at other games
Why am I fighting against people that have weapons that I do not have
Yes I agree!
An explosive game mode which may not be great for competitive (ranked) or a ironed out mode for competitive which might be less dynamic because of balancing for ranked
That's embark's dilemma - we gotta support the Devs and the game- this is not an easy fix and listening to individual player's I like this class so buff and hate this class so nerf.
We gotta remember embark's dev teams always make great sandbox game that encourages creative gameplay. That's what the gaming world needs and the masses don't always understand what's good for them or the greater community.
Let's patiently wait for the team to cook... I trust embark.
Ottr, it's 3am man, are you ok 😭
Maybe if they make 5 teams instead of 4 would solve the problem
Just want Cashout Rank back.
Why is there so many people with swords and flamethrowers
Even if they did twitch rivals in TA, gigz team still would have destroyed everyone. We just need to keep cashout cause TA doesn’t fix shi
This why quick cash is king 👑 wish they would make a quick cash tournament; have 3 sets going and the three winners of the first round go to the finals 🎉
The best team won. To me that shows Cashout is a good competitive game mode.
5v5/3v3 cashout would just make comp amazing
if you would grind Diamond, any of these will no be any sort of "EXPOSURE". I was always the issue from the game release date when teams were not balanced so Diamond has every round for free and 3rd-p was the best choice especially if you play in a party. If you are a solo player - you are fucked
S1 silver getting paired with unranked 😭😭 cmon Embark
I think multiple teams fighting over 1 objective there’s only so much you can do about that as in regular cashout you could argue the same tbh.
