I used to shoot Nikon, but now i have a 5Dlll, but yesterday I got to hold one of these DF's in my hands, the silver and black one with no lens or battery inside, I have to say i was drooling over this camera, in my opinion it is the best looking camera I have ever seen, and I was actually considering ordering one, trying to think what single lens I could get with it, maybe a 24/70 since i don't want to invest in allot of Nikon glass, but with that said, when I really thought about it, I don't like that it has no video, a limited focus system, 4000 shutter limit, no flash, but if you can give up those things, wow what a beautiful handsome camera, something I think I would own forever and never sell even if I just looked at it everyday haha, there is something about the camera that is special, but I do wonder if it would feel special when using it, or if all those dials would just make me miss a regular DSLR

Thanks for your comments. We have found that this camera has really grown on us since getting one in stock. Its becoming a staff favourite.

Where did you get a 4000 shutter count? I've never seen a Nikon DSLR with a count anywhere near that low.

good review, but still wondering how many ppl would actually need to swap out batteries since it shoots almost twice as many shots as most cameras on a single charge

You sound like a fellow South African living in NZ; Afrikaans first language? Thank you for the review, I love that camera, but will only be able to afford it 15 years after its release😥

People that hate this camera have never owned it. The have it for a day or two and never give it a real chance......sad! Who cares if it doesn't have video? Are you a photographer or taking video's?

Thanks Dudley. This camera is definitely aimed at the exclusive photographer market. In New Zealand it seems that Nikon is no longer shipping this model or a similar product at the moment which is a little sad.

    Nikon has lost its magic...
    Digital conFusion...
The Most Beautiful & The Worst Camera at the same time.
shspeed 1/4000 sec just like eos rebel,
    low fps 5.5, low megapixel,
    bad low light AF performance,
    uncomfortable dials,
The worst Video capability in the market,
memory card location at the bottom,
    bad Manual Focus assist,
Too Big size just like Dinosaurs.
    Fake silver ring lens
Bad Naming, they should call it Nikon DE or DFE

Nikon will never loose it's magic, but Sony sure has.

Angriest Photographer It is a still photography Camera and your comments should only address this category, among all other Cameras. It has the legendary D4 Sensor, which is superior to many other camera makers of its range.
