Larch is my favourite and the tree i have most experience with. I enjoyed the way you tackled this but I would suggest that you could happily removed loads of that leggy growth from the Larch you are giving away. That way the tree will have far fewer uselss long branches to diretc its energy. This is my normal way of dealing with such trees. Good quality production as always Jason

Thanks Xav. Once it’s out of my care it’s the new owner’s responsibility. I wired it and only minimally pruned it.

Beautifully done - your specimens are looking glorious sporting their fresh new growth! Really helpful video. Even though I don't have larch, the principles apply to many of my other conifers. Well explained and demonstrated!

Larch collection is quite lovely. I do like them with the curve in the trunk. I only wish I had seen this last week. I just more or less pinched the tips off. And lovely pot on that first tree!

They will likely grow back in no time. I usually find myself pruning them back at least three times a year. That lovely pot was the original one for the one I’m giving away but I thought “I’m definitely keeping that pot.” I’m generous - but not THAT generous 😂😂😂

One of my trees developed from a sapling is about 5 years old. First year it has developed cones - the other one the same age does not have any yet.
