    A while back now i suffered from a compression fracture in a thoracic vertebrae.
    Do you believe the neck brace and protector together will provent from spine fexation better then not wearing them? Or will the neck brace out more force on my fracture as it starts where the thoracic support on the neck brace ends?

    • @WADZUP
      @WADZUP  3 года назад +2

      Here's the official response from Leatt. In flexion/compression loading the thoracic member of the brace moves away from the spine and therefore plays no role. In extension/compression loading the thoracic member will fracture, as per design, at a fraction of the force required to produce an injury. This design feature has been thoroughly researched and tested.
      All versions of the Leatt Neck Brace have passed the same in-house and external testing standards and they are all CE tested and certified as Personal Protective Equipment.
      The advantage of wearing a Leatt chest or back protector is protection from direct impacts to specific areas, they do not enhance the function of the neck brace as described above. Please bear in mind that after internal fixation for a thoracic spine fracture, there will naturally be more loading in an impact to the levels above and below the fusion.
      Kind Regards
      The Leatt Lab

      I wear mine on top of my adventure jacket. The leatt gpx 5.5 has straps that go under your arms to help hold in place.
      I went down on my right side and the neck brace definitely stopped my head from slamming into some rocks.

    I broke my collar bone 7 weeks ago. I usualy collarbone will snap from hi force sholder impact wich was also in my case. When you hit the ground and sholder is the first to take the impact the sholder move to your body and cz its attached to the collarbone it forse it to move but for the collarbone there is literaly no place to move and in most scenarios will crack in two peaces or puncture the skin in extreme sutuations. So i dont thin that the neck brace can prevent your collarbone.

    • @krecikowi
      @krecikowi 3 года назад

      Exactly, they should make something to protect collarbone, something to protect shoulders, literally pipe behind the back attached to shoulder pads. Not that difficult.

      Your welcome glad I was able to help. The protection is just right for me, maybe if I was racing Motocross and doing huge whips and back flips I'd want protective gear with less but for single track backcountry and charging hard and staying safe it perfect for me.

    Hey looking for a chest protector to wear under a Klim jacket you think that thing is too bulky should I go for a Slimmer option the other I was looking at was the alpinestars bionic Pro V2 jacket but it is soft cover armor and can only be worn under a jacket it looks like the 5.5 could take a lot more abuse just seems like the rib area would be a little restrictive it may be too bulky to wear under a jacket without going extreme oversized

    • @WADZUP
      @WADZUP  4 года назад

      Interesting question. If you removed the shoulder armour, which btw is possible then I think you could do it but the jacket will need to accommodate a bit but Im assuming your jacket isnt tight fitting. If you want I could try it with my Olympia jacket which is comparable to Klim...

      @@WADZUP hey that would be great I currently have a Olympia Troy jacket and it's starting to wear out that's why I was considering upgrading to The Klim.. it seems like the jackets with the mesh liner the pads are never in the right place when you need them and all the velcro bits are toast the pads are so aggravating that find myself wearing the jacket with no pads even after I upgraded to the D30 always on my mind whatever happens Ive got to make it to work on Monday the less banged up the better! @@benb2058 I tried the Leatt 5.5 body armour with and without the shoulder protection and threw on the Olympia X Moto 2 armour jacket and its completely doable. I was comfortable and the rotation and movements were not super restrictive and definitely gave me a more confidence knowing the additional armour was there. In the end it will be dependent on your jacket but bottom line is its not a ridiculous idea and absolutely doable. Ride safe and hope his helps

      Hey , thanks for taking the time to try it out...I have paralysis by analysis on the armor...I hate buying things twice and I am trying to make a well informed choice. I dont mind spending an extra couple $ I just want the ability to always have it on.. I'm trying to hold the "AGAT" principal. Seasonal flexability is my goal. The 5.5 is on my short list 👍

    Hey quick question.....Does anyone make a helmet shoulder brace for touring..?? The reason I ask is after riding 500 miles in one day I find myself riding with my head tipped back from the air load and looking out of the bottom of my glasses. Once I get off the bike to bring my head down is painful. Does anyone make a should support that keeps your helmet from being pushed back and up while riding upright...not bent over..
