A couple ideas I thought of watching this:
I'm sure you already planned this, but it would be cool as the further in the game you progress, the more complex topics for the creatures get. Like how you can have one for the basic states of matter, then another far later introducing other states
I also have a suggestion for a specific creature! One that starts as a fruit, then ferments to alcohol. The alcoholic creature can then ferment again into vinegar

That Arboliva varient should have a signiture ability that acts like a combo of Harvest and Forewarn. At the end of each turn there would be a 50% chance (100% in sun) to create a relevent super effective resist berry, or a copy of it's original berry if none apply.

2:10 neutron stars form from collapsing stars with 1-3 solar masses (the mass of the sun), the newly formed neutrons in the collapsing star stop gravity from fully crushing the star, but if the mass is any higher, gravity wins. black holes form from anything with more mass. A neutron star can become a black hole if it gains enough mass and the balance is broken.

Imagine if that immortal jellyfish Pokémon, after reaching its final evolution, evolved back into its first form, and repeat from there. Perhaps, rather than each evolution being a strict improvement, each one has a different stat spread but the same BST, making them act more like form changes - but they still switch via cyclic evolution. To encourage you to go through the cycle, its move learnsets probably contain some unique (i.e. not learned by the other stages) moves at very high levels for all three stages, so if you want maximum options, you’ll want to have it spend some time in all three evolutions.

My first thought when you talked about noble gases inspiring a new ability:
Stability: this creature is always affected by attacks as if it had no weakness or resistance to them.
It seems a bit unbalanced, but it still reminds me of the “not reacting with other elements” part of noble gases.
Maybe making it have no resistance is too big of a nerf? I think it would be a bit too strong if it had no weaknesses and some resistances. Maybe it should reduce the effect of its weaknesses? I don’t know.

It's still sa that I didn't have the time to start on a design myself. Woulu think of doing this again some time in the future? maybe not in one and a half years would be perfect hehe, where my next exam would happen.
I must also say, It's really smart to inspire and intrest others more in science by making a pokemon/creature collector themed game about science. I always used to be interested but in the last few years I kinda fell outa the loop and started being more lazy and researching less and less, this kinda brought me back into learning a bit more. I must really say, thank you for having this amazing idea and sharing it step by step.

  • @Iggy_Dogg
    @Iggy_Dogg Год назад +2

Oh boy I get to help with the science portion of this video! I'd like to talk about the Gengar line by shanhasacrayon. I have bachelors of science in physics and astronomy so I want to be thorough, but if you only care about the Pokemon stuff skip to the last paragraph.
So basically, when stars run out of hydrogen to fuse into helium at their core, the massive energy output obviously decreases a lot and the massive pressure coming from the outside of the core in (gravity) takes over. This breaks what we call "Hydrostatic Equilibrium," which basically means the nuclear fusion taking place in the core is enough that the star doesn't collapse on itself from its own gravity. Anyway, after that happens, the star briefly contracts which allows a high enough temperature/pressure to begin fusing hydrogen in an outer shell. This causes the star to balloon up to massive size with a lower temperature, so smaller less luminous main sequence stars like our own and the ones that are less massive will become white dwarfs. Eventually that hydrogen will run out too and the star contracts again before releasing a huge amount of matter, creating the white dwarf (basically the remnant of the core, very small in comparison to what was there before) while expelling the outside layers creating the incorrectly named planetary nebula. This is the fate of the vast majority of stars, as most in the universe are not all that luminous or special. But the luminous ones are easier to observe so we know a lot about those too.
Not gonna go completely into the different types of supernovae, but the important thing here to know is that mass affects everything. Stars that are far more massive than our own (about 8x) but not among the largest of all will experience a type II supernova. Basically what happens is these massive stars are so large that the process of the hydrogen producing zone moving to an outer shell continues, and the core begins to fuse helium into heavier elements. This begins something called the CNO cycles, where Carbon, Nitrogen, and Oxygen are continuously fused creating huge amounts of energy. Eventually that runs out too, and the core is left with just iron. Although there is still enough energy there due to the massive temperature and pressure, the fusion of iron is energy-negative, leading to another collapse. However with these massive stars, the collapse is so violent is becomes hyper-luminous. This is the supernova. Smaller stars in this spectrum will end up as ultra-dense Neutron stars, but larger ones WILL become black holes. We know these supernovae are type II because they still have large amounts of hydrogen and helium in their spectra because of the outer shells. Stars that are FAR more massive than that (about 25x the mass of our own) experience type Ib supernovae, which show far less hydrogen and helium due to the star losing its outer gases due to just how large it is. These stars will almost always result in black holes. There's also type Ic supernovae, which are basically the same but even more stripped down thus showing even less hydrogen in their spectra. But guess what? None of that is actually relevant to that black hole Gengar design!
Yes, white dwarfs CAN form supernovae. This type of supernova, called Type Ia, is atypical compared to the others as it does not result from a massive star collapsing but probably occurs in binary systems with a white dwarf. Basically, white dwarfs are dense and in a system with multiple stars can accrete material from nearby stars and reach a larger mass. White dwarfs can only be so heavy before they reach something called the Chandrasekhar mass. The Chandrasekhar limit describes how heavy white dwarfs can be while still being stable (about 1.4x the mass of our sun). White dwarfs that end up heavier than that collapse (once again due to gravity) which ends up as a neutron star or black hole. So yeah that pretty much only happens in a system with more than one star where accretion takes place or the two stars become one. Stars that WOULD'VE produced white dwarfs that massive just skip that stage and do their own supernovae. So now on to the Pokemon itself.
I think this concept is really neat! What I would do evolution wise is maybe have another Pokemon based on a star required in the party to evolve, kinda like Mantyke into Mantine with Remoraid. Maybe it could just be Solrock. That would make it more scientifically accurate, as a lone white dwarf isn't suddenly going to gain a bunch of mass and go supernova on its on, even if it DOES reach level 25. Other than that though I think it's a fantastic idea and really I'm just nitpicking because I love astronomy so much.

Obviously I know I’m late to the party, and I still need to draw it, but I had a fun idea for a convergent Orthworm based on the bobbit worm and abyssal gigantism. Basically it’d be a Water/Dark relative of Orthworm found in the deepest and darkest parts of the ocean that has grown to a massive size (about as long as Rayquaza even, although at least 2/3 of it are buried at all times unless they’re actively attacking) due to water pressure, and have evolved to be able to lunge at sonic speeds and attack prey with sharp mandibles, like actual bobbit worms. (I know bobbit worms are a purely epipelagic species but a lot of media with them shows them as deep-sea creatures and that makes for a more interesting Pokémon anyways)

Something to think about - plasma is more like the parallel of Liquids, in Energy/Plasma/Matter trio.

Oh man, I really wish I participated! I have this really cool concept for a rock/ghost skeletal Lileep line based off limestone, as if the skeletal structure of the limestone, which is made up of fossilized animals, was revived into a Pokémon!

Ok I didn't actually know there was a contest, I don't watch like every video you put out, but I had this idea I wanted to share, what if there was a creature based on hydrolisis, where it would be a water/steel type (something with two electrodes inside) and when hit by an electric attack or something similar it would evolve/change form to a fire/flying type to show the separation of hydrogen and oxygen in water with electricity. If it was to be a convergent evolution it could be based of corsola/cursola with a water type evolving into something that looks like an escaping gas cloud

i really like how you use monster hunter like drawings of pokemon this 2 franchises are my 2 favorite games that i could get on switch o and i would create a pokemon based on multiverse that he changes abilitys based on your accions like when you use an item to heal it it gets an ability to heal itself or if it uses fire move it turns into fire type if you switch it out it turns into a new pokemon when you bring it back to battle

Hi Nortist, quick question, do you think Kyogre's Blue Orb or Pikachu's Light Ball (or any other exclusive items) are made out of an existing element or combination on the periodic table, or some new magical / fantasy material that needs a name?

I'd like a Ditto that instead of turning into other Pokemon it can change its type by changing its composition (obviously it should learn more than just one move)

I wish I had sent in a submission. I made a Poison/Bug type version of Ekans and Arbok a long time ago based on batesian mimicry, but technically, in reverse. Ekans looks like Caterpie to be able to attract Pokemon that might prey on Caterpie and ambush them. My Arbok then looks like Butterfree. It's hood looking like Butterfree's wings to be able to slither up to Butterfrees and catch them off guard.

There are some pokemon that are made to work together like dondozo and tatsugiri, so its not unheard of.
