Must be the best explanation of seki on the internet!❤ I remember greatly struggling with this as beginning player, if only this would have been around.
Just picked up go again (18k beginner), and I am very lucky to have found this channel! Not only are your lessons interesting and very instructive but they are also extremely visually pleasing. The gray background is so nice and the birds eye view is lit perfectly! You are a blessing, good sir!
Nice lesson but there is a failure second example at 5:10. Black needs only five outside liberties to win if he is to move. In cases like this with no eye on either side all mutual libs count for the underdog (White) but one for the favourite (Black)
Congratulations on reaching 18 kyu in such a short time-that's an impressive achievement. We're so glad that the tutorials have been helpful on your Go journey. Here's to many more games and even more progress! 😊
This is exactly the kind of situation where i lean back and relax, while my black opponents calmly fills the white eyespace....and kills me. All these rules only apply, if you don't make mistakes...😢 Still...best content out there!!!
Can’t believe this channel has so few subscribers. Definitely underrated.
Haha spread the word! =D
Agree this channel is far more informative than any other ive come across (new player)
Best beginner go video I've seen so far on RUclips.
Heck yeah! =))

Our feelings exactly before we made this!
Capturing races are easy to understand if we understand that liberties = turns needed to capture.
Oh yeah!
I'm so excited for this series
Capturing races is such a useful topic, we really need to make a whole mini-course about it

Helped me immensely!
This makes us really happy!

5:40 Seki. How is it count in the end. I heard it is not count. But what stones are not count just this inside larger group or also larger group.
2 points between the groups in this example. More about seki here: ruclips.net/video/7cz8eZjMRjs/видео.html
Excellent
Thaaaaaanks, Ben!

Thanks!
I started go this year (2024) and because of these awsome tutorials im now 18 kyu

For example 3, how do you reach the conclusion that black needs 5 outside liberties to capture? Came up with an equation but doubt it's correct
I guess we'll have to take a look at that in more detail in a separate course on capturing races =)

Yeah, it's true that even minor mistakes can lead to significant consequences, especially in complex games.
You are amazing❤❤❤
😚
so helpful
😊
An eye is the last place to play in a capturing race, so it's practically 2 liberties in one. One eye beats no eye for this reason.
Actually, it depends. The simpler rule is "the mutual liberties belong to the one with the eye / the big eye / the biggest eye".
I need a cheatsheet
We may make one sometime, but not now.

After capturing the stones how about catching these hands 😂😂😂 typical bros game
