wow...I am an alto myself, and I searched so so long for the Alto part of this beautiful piece of music. And then I finally found it, and this singer has such a beautiful voice, I have goosebumps all over my body!!! Thank you so so much!!
Thank you so much for this instructional video/recording!! I haven’t sung this since high school and we’re about to sing the Hallelujah Chorus this Easter!! I want to be absolutely SOLID in my Alto, so this is Absolutely helpful🥰👏🏼!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for your love of music and for sharing it with us! Keep up the great work and may God’s love continue to shine upon you and all who read this message🙏♥️!!
This is the most helpful video i have watched.. EVER. We did this pre covid, now I'm so grateful to have this amazing lady to help me brush up again. Thank you so much xxx
We sang this in my high school choir many many many moons ago. I was a first soprano in one choir and a second soprano in the other. As I have gotten older, my voice has definitely matured. Plus since I don't practice every day, I can't hit a lot of the high notes anymore. This is my first time singing the alto part, and I absolutely love it. I've always had a love for harmonizing, and the alto part in this song is absolutely perfect.

This would be wonderful to do again now with COVID-19's isolation. Would love to take part in something like this.
Thank you so much! I have been practicing with an interfaith choir for a Christmas concert and the alto part can be intimidating when you've never sung the Hallelujah chorus before. This has been SO HELPFUL in learning it. Especially that part (I only know it's on the top of page 160 ha ha) where we come in on an off-beat and have to say it super fast!
Thankyou so much sister...I was able to learn the alto part of this marvelous anthem from this video ...I had the opportunity to sing in the church choir and thru this video it has helped me to sing perfectly well....thanking the conductor as well..praise God .
Good job, young lady! I hope they accept you. You are serving God and Christ Jesus well by singing "Hallelujah" to honor both our Father and Christ. As Paul once wrote: "...speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord..." (Ephesians 5:19). The practice run throughs for the actual performance must be wonderful! All the best to you.
This is one of the best things I have come across. In my high school choir, we don't this every year for our winter concert. My last winter concert is tomorrow, and using this for the past 4 years has been a journey
I've always sang this as a Soprano, but as I've gotten older my voice has deepened and since I don't sing on a regular basis I've lost the ability to hit the highest notes. Hearing the Alto version is definitely different.
This helped me sooooo much! I was struggling with this piece because of all the other moving parts I couldn’t isolate my alto part during practice. This video did exactly that! Life saver!
Estou constantemente ensaiando o contralto para um encontro de corais! Obrigado por passar pra nós o seu conhecimento! Deus te abençoe ! Brasil! Rio de Janeiro! Rj
More like this please! This is very helpful to people who doesn't know about music to learn their parts in the choir. Music was given to us for praise our Father in Heaven, to lift the souls and to share hapiness for life :D
I started singing this at school and soon discovered I'm not a soprano but an alto! Switching is quite hard since I know soprano by heart, but with this, I know I can do it :))
alto is so underrated, a lot of people say it’s boring and like not fun to sing alto but the range of alto is really impressive to begin with. The quality of most altos is very warm and rich which is also another nice thing. My personal favorite as being an alto is being able to sing in a lower voice register (if that makes sense)
When I was in HS, we performed HM in it's entirety. We went on to compete nation wide and got a perfect score from the judges. I knew the entire alto part. I had forgotten a lot of the notes. Our choirs music teacher was a short and kind of stern, she demanded perfection from us and we all complained about it but, we all loved her and how we sounded when we performed. Handel was a genius.
Fantástica voz y magnifica dirección, alabado sea Dios, una expresión de alabanza, del ser humano al creador, Dios Todopoderoso.!!!!!! ( Bose Soundock 10.)
I happened to notice a couple errors in the sheet music from 1:07-1:11. When they are singing the syllable "rein", the notation is shown as an A below middle C when it should be a B below middle C.
Im a Bass, and my choir often sing this song in some special ocassions. Knowing the Alto line, just makes me feel that its not as hard as how it looks on the music sheet
This is such a great video. It has helped me learn the Alto part to this beautiful Hymn. I will listen again and again, just to make sure that I know the part completely. Isolation video’s as this one are a huge help in learning each part. Thank you!!
Iam a Classically/Operatically trained Lyric Mezzo-soprano. I can sing from E3-D6. I used to train as a Lyric Coloratura Soprano before my voice got more matured and heavier. I used to have a vocal range from A3-Ab6 way back then. Though, I turned to a Lyric Mezzo-soprano, I just wonder why when I joined the church choir, they placed me with the Sopranos? , Though I can sing both parts just fine, I just wonder why? For all I know Sopranos have brighter and more silvery vocal colour/timber compared to us Mezzo-sopranos.
wow I adore your work Peter and Evynne just as always but I`m afraid that I can`t sing. I tried to record it but it just sounded horrible. I could play timpani instead :D
for me.. from easiest to hardest for this song is : Alto, Bass, Soprano then Tenor.. Tenor don't have to sing much of high notes.. but got so much of loops from chest voice to head voice.. making them to have to change their vocal folds frequently, which making them to breath in and out air more often too because this loops requires lots of air for them to do it as consistency and powerful as possible
I think the alto part is easier because the notes aren't notes aren't as high for our range. The soprano notes are really high, therefore making it easier to mess up.
Alto has such a rich tone, often overlooked. I'm happy to see people love it just as much as soprano

I'm an Alto and we sung this for our winter concert back in December. It was so fun, especially with our orchestra.
she is great. does all the dynamics, has good voice!!! members of thr choir copy her which is really good. a great singer. thanks
Team Alto gather lets have a good time here.

How come I didn’t come here earlier? I sing alto and there are these two lines of this song I always miss. I’ve gotten them now!!! Thanks a lot!

Comparing this to the soprano part, she seems much more comfortable as an alto, but she certainly has the range for both
mezzosoprano maybe? I can sing both soprano and alto, but mezzo is my perfect spot :)
Yeah it sounds more "natural"

Singing this for the first time, and this video has been immensely helpful in learning my part. Thank you for keeping it posted!
Thank you so much. Very helpful I must say. God bless you
I’m a tenor, and alto is, in my opinion, the best vocal range a woman can sing.
I know this was posted years ago but, also in my opinion, it's also a very boring part to sing.
I started singing this at school and soon discovered I'm not a soprano but an alto! Switching is quite hard since I know soprano by heart, but with this, I know I can do it :))

Will be singing this with our choir SG in December 2022 at NCPA TATATTHEATRE MUMBAI
she songs so beautifully!!! helped me to rehearse for my choir pary
Thanks supper lady great voice God bless you thank you trainer and conductor
YAY for altos :-)
You're simply amazing, thanks for doing this. Please give us more lessons with other hymns.
Thank you so much for this. Very helpful. Was preparing to perfect my alto part during this year's Easter celebrations with the mass choir.

The best audio for learning!! Thank you very much from Spain.
Wow for once I find myself prefering alto's part over soprano
This song kills any vocal chords. I'm an alto and this is super high!!! I'm happy we only sing this at the end of the day in Dicken's Fair.
The alto part is so clear so lovely ❤❤
Wow,I wish I could sing like that ❤
Thank you so much ❣️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❣️❣️🎉🎉🎉🎉
To Him what matters is our lives not how beautifully we sing.!
John Andrews what?

Perfecto! Perfecto!! And thanks a bunch for the upload
Es hermoso el registro de contralto!
Wow! I love this voice
No comparaison. The son is very very sweetest.
Absolutely brilliant.

Love it ! Thank yoy very much for this video!!! I just started to be part of a chorus as Alto voice ...
Quite amazing
I'm going to be singing this with my friend!
J'ai adoré, superbe!!!
Singing as alto it's really hard. Im a mezzo and I can do both, but the difficult part is to dont confuse the tone when hearing the sopranos.
im a soprano but i wanted to sing alto part for this song.. its sososo much easier
Maravilloso
Keep on singing ❤

Muito bom! Ótimo pra estudar!
Beautiful inviting a sing wiht the choir.
I love it!
Next time please lower the background. I literally have to stop every second to hear what she's singing, I struggle with learning this at school😟😟🙂🙂
I love singing the Aalto part ❤
INCREDIBLE!!@@

You always sound terrible when you listen to a recording of yourself. Have someone else judge.
True... Especially if you use your phone to record yourself.
I have a concert in 3 weeks, this is helping me a lot

Yes..... ❤ alto here❤❤❤❤
I'm a guy but i just like singing as a soprano......
great! thaks!
why did I find out about this now?!
when is it for next year, please?
you singed that, you should be the one conducting
Bravissima!
Wow nice
Ummm...which would be the best voice part to sing if we're soprano II or mezzo?
bit late...but in general alto. Some notes are deep but that will be alright. Especially in this song the soprano psrt is too high for a mezzo
Is she still singing in real life?
didn't know how deep altos have to sing...glad to be a soprano
Weird part Is finding both Peter and Mrs Hollens in this
❤
Do they really want us to elide words like “forever and ever”? The words “and ever” end up sounding like “endeavour” instead.

todavia se puede enviar el video
I am a soprano
i’m curious if they will do it again with covid?
Is that Kerrilyn Johnson on alto???
+Cherilyn Eagar Nope that's me :-)
She's clearly a soprano.
Try naming the song correctly!!!!! It's the "Halellujah Chorus!"
Very impressive but in 3:34 mistake 😁
The Altos have it easy, I must say.
After listening to all four part I could rank:
Altos, Bass, Tenors, Sopranos.
Pierre Odendaal I'm an alto and I think sopranos have it easier though
Depends on your range. Bass part is pretty easy though
for me.. from easiest to hardest for this song is : Alto, Bass, Soprano then Tenor.. It's not easy if you're an alto. This part is the easiest if you sing soprano lol
I think the alto part is easier because the notes aren't notes aren't as high for our range. The soprano notes are really high, therefore making it easier to mess up.
You can definitely hear that she isn't a real alto.
That's a bit sad. I expected better from you!
This lady has a great vocal range! 🤩
