Definitely give the xenoblade games a try. Xenoblade chronicles de for switch goes on sale a lot and I would recommend starting with it. X and 2 are also fine to start with, but they have bad tutorials that might frustrate you if you start with them.
Definitely give the series a try! :D Starting with Definitive Edition and then 2 on the Switch is really the best way to experience the story! X is a bit more of its own thing so you can keep if for last although it's also really good!

I litterally bought the WiiU for XenoX, Bayonetta and BotW. A sad machine collecting dust with only 3 games.
The Wii U had some of the best library of games imo. Especially first party games.
