Definitely think anyone looking to play Side By Side doing the emulation route is better off playing PS1 Side By Side Special unless they're got a full setup for the arcade. Got more content, analogue controls are hidden in there and it can be upscaled so it really ends up probably looking better than native res emulated.
You can drift anything if you are determined. Not saying it’s a good idea but…I could drift my X2 if I was motivated and foolish. Probably drift it right into a roll over crash 😂
is the footage sped up by any chance? cause the music sounds faster. if thats the case, for the JC games is always better to just overclock the cpu on mame, sbs1 in particular needs like 200% overclock to run at correct speed since you cant play time attack mode on that game and the more cars on screen you have, the slower the emulation gets.
Yes I have retuned the speed in post. Overclocking worked but crashed enough to where the capture was not great so I did it a diff way. One day I’ll find a PCB and make a new vid :!
Nooo! Not the automatic transmission! You're killing me lol. Then again, I guess shifting is less of a concern when the drifting seems as weird as this.
And the later attempt was of course battle gear 3 which I expect you'll be reviewing next...
A perfect compare and contrast
Maybe not next but one day

More than likely yes probably the more reasonable way to plus
Play*
Iirc, this touge game came out before any Initial D games were released.
It really did lead the genre
I agree again VGE. They really, really, REALLY tried. Welp, they did their best. 8^)
Anthony..
It was a solid attempt
Drifting with a GTR and a Civic? Hmmm, I don't think it's quite realistic (That doesn't make it any less fun) lol.

This game looks very cool. It looks alot like Batle Gear in some ways
It’s basically battle gear before it existed
@@VideoGameEsoterica😊 Right? It looks alot like it
Yes it’s basically the start of the series with a diff name
@@VideoGameEsoterica I didnt knew that. Today downloaded the PS1 version of Side by Side, i want to play it my friend
Enjoy it. It’s fun. Janky (obv, it’s on the playlist) but a good time. It’s in my collection
Are this running better in Mame by now ?
It runs fine just slow. So yes and no
There's a PS1 port that runs pretty good. But I don't know if you can hook that up to a wheel.
I have the port and one day I’ll talk about it

Sometimes I go manual sometimes I don’t lol
