you have opened up my eyes to so many possibilities I am Jamaican now living in Toronto Canada. I am moving forward onto a 5 patches of lands 1 acres 10 acres 50 acres 80 acres and 100 acres. This is an effort on finding the perfect space on which to farm none of these are my lands. I will be trying all you suggestions in green houses. I plan to measure all amendments even the amounts of water given to each plants. I would to stay in touch with you on this and other farming related issues.
I would be glad to help. Pls reach out to me via WhatsApp. I can guide you anytime you need my help. I do so for other subscribers. Looking forward to your messages. Cheers!
I intended planting yarn this season, your experiment has helped me I can add casava peels to my soil and still get good results. We have heaps in my area...any concerns please share... thanks Sir.
The knowledge from this your experiment is enoumous, apart from the fact you could grow yam with the individual structure for the yam formation. A mixture of Sand, biochar and sawdust will really do amazingly great the combo will retain water, and remain soft and not compact during the growing period and this combination will offer the yam opportunity to grow far deeper into the earth. You may be talking about 6 to 7 kg of yam or more. Definitely i will try this combination when i get home. I don't want my workers to do the experiment for me. Thank you for this experiment, it increased knowledge on the structural sets that can grow yam if adopted. The rice dust could be mixed with Biochar and Soil proper to bring about some retention and keep the soil loose from planting to harvesting.
You are very thorough, sir. Simple experiments that are already making great changes and triggering wonderful imaginations in lots of people. God bless you, sir. You are a blessing to my generation, sir!
Sir, I suggest you try out the mixture as a new category by the next phase of the experiment as a comparison with this wonderful baseline pilot study you have done. Maybe, a mixture of soil/biochar, soil/sawdust and soil/rice husk. Then, there could be variations as well like (soil:others - 70:30, 50:50, 30:70, etc). Gracias!
Then, since roots can migrate to tap nutrients, maybe separating the bags could enhance further findings. To eliminate options where roots of the yam planted in sawdusk would migrate into the biochar and draw nutrients, and vice versa!
I always like to watch Utube channel, because you have taught me a lot. I am sure I will use this experiment. Congratulations, and thank you for always sharing your knowledge.
Very interesting and it opens a lot of people eyes (expecially me that am about to start yam farming) to another alternative way to grow yam. Thanks very much for this experiment 🤝
Loamy soil is the best for planting tubers, and to loosen the soil, you could add any of the alternatives you used in your experiment. I'm actually surprised with the sawdust results. Thank you for sharing, I'm watching from Atlanta GA.
@@EnomaAndy Thanks sir. I get the dust from those who make and sell charcoal. It cost little or nothing. So I don't need to grind. They have no use for the dust. Infact they discard them, not knowing they are discarding "black gold" or should I say "black diamond" 😃
Thanks for the video, please did you decompose the sawdust? And please where can one get the biochar in bulk ? I actually have access to lots of sawdust but I learned it's too high in carbon and consumes nitrogen from the soil. Kindly educate us more on this, God bless you
Composted sawdust not fresh. The secret most be don't know is that once you have access to sawdust, you already have the best form of biochar. All you need to do is to convert sawdust to biochar through a process called pyrolysis. You can look that up on my channel. Just check climate change in my channel. You see a less than 5 mins video where I gave the secret of getting biochar in bulk
Thank you Sir. I am a liberian, and an ardent follower. Your videos have sooo much opened my eyes to yam farming in bags. I really want to know if charcoal waste is the same as biochar? And how can i get this biochar? Thanks
Thanks alot. Charcoal activated with organic or inorganic manure is termed biochar. Check out my video on activation process. Very easy. So your charcoal waste is definitely the first step.
@ Thank you sir, if possible, please point me to any of your videos that explains the process of irrigation, quantity of water and duration of time. Thank you God bless you
Pls sir I have a video of my own results which I would want you to assess. I followed your methods, used about 25% saw dust mixed with soil, then planted in bags. The results shocked me, sir.
A compacted soil has low porosity. He already told you he is a layman, not an expert. If everyone made an effort to share whatever knowledge they have, our world would be a better place.
Great job. Thank you for sharing your love. I pray the good Lord replenish all your time effort and strength.

Great work.
You deserve an award for this study.
Congratulations 🎉

Thx so much for d enlightenment.
The closed bottom rice was not big because rice husk can not retain water.
Did you use fertiliser for the Yams sir?
I mostly use organic manure water to fertigate.
@Naturesheritagenetwork how do we prepare that , or do they sell it sir?
Thx so much for the prompt reply sir

is it one yam head that was planted on each sack?
Not yam heads. Mini tubers seeds . 4 in 1 sack
Well done sir❤
Please, what is milking?
Check it out on my older videos. It's well explained there
What amendments did you add?
@@emmanuelogbonna8881 fertigation with poultry manure mainly
When using soil, it is very important for the soil to be loose in order to encourage growth
Very true sir
Good job sir, please how can one get biochar, and can you teach how milking is done to get the seed yams?
All these questions have been answered in my previous videos. Just search for what you need
When is the next best time to plant my yam and what type should I plant please
Anytime if you have seeds that have broken dormancy and water for irrigation. It has to be in sacks

Where can we get rice husk?
From people that grow rice 🌾
Grate Job. But don't you think the genetic aspect of the seed you have planted have impact on the outcome of your results
I agree with you
Boss please
do you have a course or training or mentorship or anything like that for absolute beginners ?
Yes. Send me a DM via WhatsApp so we could talk more.
Great Job and good teaching. How do I get your WhatsApp number, cos I’m interested. I would love to chat with you before I start planting.
I think we can incorporate biochaol and saw dust together
I quite agree with you
The reason why the open bag for rice dust didn't perform well is because the rice dust doesn't hold water
Makes a lot of sense
And it's draining the nutrients downward
@Dbrodas ok.
Pls sir can someone plate 4 mini sit in one bag??
doy you think 4 tuber is too much in one sack
In order to replace soil which has a lot of diseases,we can use saw dust, rice bran and biochar
Hmm.🤔
Yh i think the reason why soil didnt perfom well is that it doesnt give room for expension
🤔. Making alot of sense
If it's not compacted it is porosity
