Just from a dev point of view, it should’ve never got to this point in the first place, that’s the part that’s unacceptable. However, the queue I believe is only a temporary fix whilst they figure out how to improve their infrastructure (which should’ve been done already). The queue, is necessary for anyone to be able to play the game, and it’s unsurprising it’s broken, because it’s a rushed hot fix. But at least EA is doing something whilst they sort it. My best guess, is that the miscalculation hasn’t been with the amount of people on the servers, but the miscalculation is with the demand the game itself has on the servers, at a large scale
I will also say, I am one of many wanting a refund for this game, of course, I will never get one, and it’s unacceptable how broken the game was on early release, and that’s it’s still just as broken now, but, hopefully EA can get the game to a working point, because aside from all the bugs and crashing, and poor server performance, the game itself is a big step up from last year

i worked at a major company that the EA was a customer of, we had options for autoscaling compute resources and they opted out. I suspect because at peak times it can be incredibly and unpredictably expensive. Epic games had it ON btw.

EAs Net Income was $1.2B last year. Which is essentially their profit. I think they can afford a few more servers. Cost cutting like this is a dangerous strategy, people will stop spending on the game at some point.

To simplify without getting into major details, the servers could be solved tomorrow (amazon and google have plenty available to rent), But EA chooses not to rent more servers not because they don't have availability of cash, it comes down to control. EA is known to be obsessed with control, and EA would rather have a slow server experience with players vs. allowing another big tech company to control them with servers . By doing this, EA prevents themselves from being completely taken over and purchased by either Amazon or Google, Facebook could also easily acquire EA and fire Andrew W. So unless a hostile take over comes to fruition, expect future ea tittles to have horrible server quality because Andrew W. and the minions will always require complete control of the company
The money went to maximising profits for the owners. Literally what drives decision making within capitalist ownership structures. And when those owners are transient such as with shares traded on a stock market, those decisions are short term based rather than longer term. It’s not ‘business’, as there’s many potential forms of ownership structure within business that would motivate different decisions being made. It’s capitalist owned business + market power. These things won’t ever change until both those things are addressed. As it is, there is no motivation to fix the servers. It’s more profitable for the customer to suffer a poorer service and game. Any capitalist owned company in EA’s market situation would be the same.
Personally, i just bought a new fun little sports car. It cost around £90 for a full tank of fuel. Around 300/400 miles of pure joy. I can’t justify spending a similar amount on this game.
Buying FC25 was an IQ test, I fully lost hope from the thousands of glitches last year. If they didn't have insane greed they would have fixed the glitches last year, but they have insane greed so they will never fix them unless they FULLY MUST.

I know this is his job but there’s literally no point in making any vids asking ea to change something when the very next day you hop on again for 6-8 hours straight, just save yourself the energy 😄
