@@adeniz41 Trying to find it, but no luck. I'll ask for it on a song search forum. It's a woman that looks like a particular 80s blonde female rock star, though I can only think of Gloria Estefan and Cyndi Lauper at the moment. She sings "You put the fire back into me" or something like that. It might be my lucky day, because I just found two songs in the last ten minutes that I've been looking for last year for weeks with no avail. "Drop the pressure vs Dr beat" being one of them.
I know many bands from mid 2000 inspired by Les Rhytmes Digitales. This track was more like ahead of its time, and not 80s. They just have a nostalgic touch.
"Sometimes when I wake at night I feel that nothing on earth could ever hurt me Sometimes when I'm on my mind I feel that nothing I say could ever deserve me". This is genius! I love the video, the music is fantastic!
This was ahead of its time. Everybody was still retroing the 70s in 1999, but this dude made an 80s album when we all still hated the 80s for its 'plastic music', still fresh in our memories. However, he changed our mind
It's a very unusual song, in all the best ways. The video is bold and surprisingly deep given the fact you think its just fluffy toys. Appearances can be deceptive particularly with someone that has depression and a thick veneer of coping we show the world. It's a beautiful project done justice by Nik Kershaw, again another left field choice, but brilliant and soulful.
I watched this video so many years ago and I never forgot about it. Now? I am watching it again and again for about three hours! I like it so much because these are the authentic songs without auto-tune you should find in bar and discotheques
I was probably about 34 when I first heard this. Now 39. Unfortunately, your sentiments are still heard, and well-understood... Although it may be up to 8 years later :)
This song just makes my skin tingle, this song and hey now tensnake mix by London grammar are two songs on my ride to work play list along with many more that bring on the bliss. When I am on my Busa with music like this in my ears, it's the Jus Jus.
Beautiful, this song is so sad, and the feeling of the singer The video is perfect, the toys, the room, the enviroment, all the elements are magics. Jesus Carlos Sanchez Mexico DF
This reminds me of working at Victoria Secret, hearing this play about 15 times a day and bopping around the store folding up panties. Oh and singing it in the headset to my co-workers 😆😆 Good Times
guy coulson - Totally. Somebody missed the ball on this one. It definitely didn’t get the recognition it deserved like so many other artists around that time (Mr. Oizo, Propellerheads, Junkie XL, just to name a TINY few). My guess is they were too ahead of their time. It’s such a shame b/c nowadays you see so many mediocre “edm” guys blowing up left & right.
It used to play non-stop, at MTV Brazil, during the nineties.I remember always watching this video when I came home from school.I used to feel just like the teddy bear, but I survived.
@@tweepixie me too, but this song rather reflects my fear, insecurity, uncertainty, anxiety and yeah, also depression that I had in 2014. What the teddy bear does at the end of the video I used to felt it and wanted to do it in 2018 but with the song "Hurt" by Jhonny cash. I don't feel any of those ways anymore, I survived too :)
Or perhaps an autistic teddy bear. Either way, we need to have better understanding and patience for one another in this world. I'm still working on reminding myself of that.
This song aged so well! Who's here in 2024?
Me! 😎
One of the best track ever written, I loved it in 1999 and I still love it in 2024
The most 80's non 80's track of all time. Fantastic Kershaw vocals.
I disagree with that. Can't remember the song, but it was even more 80's than this one imho.
it's inspired by The Human League - Darkness
All of the tracks on the Darkdancer album are like that.
@@DeterminedExpression do you remember it now

Never has depression and social anxiety been put in a picture in a better way.
ew
I had depression in 2018, it's a serious shit! If you have friends with this, talk to them, this helps a 90%. Thank you Stuart.
I'd like to take my life away right now.
@@srodevodka how you feelin today?
This song, melodically is a masterpiece. And Stuart price's involvement is so recognizable. I just love this track.
Totally agree. Amazing song, amazing vocals and minimalist yet effective production. A deeply painful song that would deserve recognition.

This popped up in Spotify for me yesterday at the gym. Utterly hooked. It’s a beautiful record.
The album is brilliant and this is a standout.
I saw this twenty years ago on German Music TV. Never forget this song and beautiful video.
It's not 20 years old.
Mr Mcgregor you are correct! It was released in 1999, so now you are correct. It’s 21 years old.

Nik Kershaw, genius!! fanatastic vocal and artist!
2018 found this about 4-5 years ago. Still loving it to bits. Frequently played. 💜💜💜
Esto es raro y excelente. Extraño los viejos tiempos de la buena donde se experimentaba.
I bought the Darkdancer album when it first came out in 1999. First time 80s music had been attempted after the decade had finished.

Still one of the best music videos ever!!
Nik Kershaw sounds fantastic in this song. Great vocals
Watched this on aVHS tape my dad brought back from Holland 🇳🇱. Brings back memories as a kid. I just remembered it today.

I dont know why this makes me feel so sad, sometimes when I'm feeling really bad I just remember the writing "had to leave my mind" ...
Este vídeo me dejó perturbado en mi adolescencia. Tarde años en volver a encontrarlo
Still a brilliant song with a powerful video. Surprising it isn't more well known.
It reminds me my bad old times. I almost end like that poor teddy bear.
i m 12 years older damn still makes me cry:/

Probably I was 12 years old when I watched this video for first time and I swear that I cried , it was a deep sad feel the story

Ultimate lockdown song.
Wall of sound.... I love you...always have...
Peaked at No.56 on the UK Charts in 1999.
It's the first time I hear this. It sounds like a hit. It's a very good song really.

Classic. You should be playing this right now if you're a DJ with any self respect. Sort it out!
I loved this song back in the day. Finally found it again😃
Here 2021. All this time later, I still love the song and this video clip!

So this music video was directed by Mike Mills, who very recently directed the wonderful movie C'mon C'mon starring Joaquin Phoenix. 😍

Very nice song!!!
ce clip enregistré par hasard sur cassette vhs m'a fasciné et dérangé avec cette peluche qui se suicide à la fin... la chanson est superbe
I hated this song in 1999, now I like it.
love it! is that the real official video for that song?
