I lost my son nearly 8 years ago, and picked up golf again for the same reasons Jim had for making that initial trip back to Scotland. So thank you NLU, and thank you Jim for sharing your son's story as well as your healing journey. This film reminds me of why we continue to play this frustratingly wonderful game, to know that our sons are still with us, to hear their voices and feel their presence on every shot, on every hole, on every warm bench overlooking a serene sun-kissed vista.

I’m not sure what took me so long to watch this video but I’m so happy I did. My father took up golf after my sister passed away 30 years ago this May. I believe it saved his life. I soon followed and it gave us almost 25 more years of special times to share together. Thanks for sharing Jim’s story and everything about the wonderful people and places in Scotland.

Sat here with a massive lump in my throat, ready to go and sit on that bench like Jim.
My father introduced me to golf in the late 80’s from watching the Masters late at night here in the UK to taking me to my first Open in ‘96 at Royal Lytham followed by subsequent opens and golfing trips in Scotland. We lost him suddenly in 2012 just after my first child was born. As I take my children to various pitch and putts and driving ranges I pray they one day get the bug so I can give them the same quality time that my Dad gave me.

I'd heard Jim tell his moving story as part of a NLU related podcast and when I saw that this content was going to be posted I knew it would be powerful. I told my 4 sons that Dad was going downstairs to watch a RUclips video and cry. And cry I did. I made it as far as the image of that battered old Dunlop ball. Melancholic, soulful and poignant. Thank you to all involved in bringing this to the tiny screens of the world...it would not be lost on the big screen.

What great content, top notch stuff. Brings back my trips to Scotland to play with my Dad and then again with my buddies 20 years ago. I've always found great pleasure in playing in Scotland and playing off the beaten path - such great (and cheap) courses and a wonderful welcome. I noticed that 10 times more people have watched Bob Does Sports try and eat 36 donuts in 9 holes of golf.... sort of sums up where our society is I guess. Keep up the great work! I'm off to get a donut.
